The knight is the bastard son of some noble family, the emperor blackmails him into becoming his personal knight and protecting him since he was young, and the knight is forced to obey him to protect his sister or something, i kinda forgot that part. Then when the time comes to let the knight go the emperor grows more obsessive with time, get's zealous of his friendship with other knight friends and forces broken glass into his palm till he bleeds. He even on purpose shoots the friend the knight was talking to during a hunt due to zealousy and pretends it to be an accident. Then there's this case of his fiancee/ the knight's sister eloping with her lover and the knight is forced to sleep with the emperor ro protect his sister.
