Later, when Xinlu finally realizes that there’s a possibility that Yuri could leave him even though he loves Xinlu, he tells Yuri to be greedy and to try to love him in the same fierce way as Xinlu himself, instead of the calm and “bland grass” way, so as to soothe his anxiety.
I think the way the author and the illustrator encapsulates both their emotions makes this beautiful story so gut wrenching and absolutely worthy of reading till the end. My heart just can’t stop bleeding for Alex
Yuri is way too pure, content with just being able to accompany Xinlu and wanting nothing more out of helping him... Xinlu when I catch you, Xinlu
When Xinlu said he liked someone who would stay with him for a long time, in the novel, it was Yuri who pictured Taeui, thinking that Xinlu was referring to Taeui. However, Xinlu seemed to catch Yuri's train of thoughts, and immediately wanted to tell him that he was not thinking of Taeui, but stopped himself because he himself didn't know who he would think of if not Taeui.
We finally see Xinlu's slow process of moving on!

Our sweet Yuri is a little jealous and sad when seeing Xinlu openly flirting with others... he is so cute (^ ^)
