Tournament arcs. I get WHY they're used, especially in character-heavy shounen manga, but I still think they're lazy writing, a massive time suck, and a boring read. reply
Helluva Boss for me. Maybe Hazbin Hotel will improve with season 3, but I find the consistent chaos of HB far more interesting than the stakes of HH. That being said, I would never have found HB without hearing of HH first, so I'll always be grateful for it, and I definitely love the music from HH season 1. reply
Female leads whose character development revolves solely around seeking the male lead's approval and affection. Like in "My Happy Marriage." I had to stop watching the anime altogether because I couldn't stand seeing Miyo talk shit about herself and say the sole reason she did anything was to be worthy of Kiyoka and not cause him any trouble. I didn't used to pay attention to ratings at all. However, I eventually started noticing a pattern to whether or not I liked a series.
Rather than the overall rating, I look at how many reviews for a series are 1 star. Usually, if at least 1% of all of a series' reviews are 1 star, I won't like the series and I'm highly likely to stop reading befo...... reply
