I don't know why uni students don't understand the value of money. I mean I'm a uni student as well but I'm cheapskate as hell and try searching for the best and cheapest. Actuarial science is kind of an accounting meets statistics on steroids to track patterns around finance. If you like stats and money this could be a good class for you. It is a small field that would be good to go in, but if you aren't interested in that stuff it might not be a good fit. Hope that helped!

I think you will be able to work for banks and companies.

Many courses can get over-booked at Universities - and you end up in classes you did not want (that happened to me a number of times) Unless you end up in mass classes - where there are 100-400 students per class - I had a few of those too! Good luck with the actuarial science - hopefully you have the math and stats background for it!

I bet he/she is from the same country as me: Malaysia. And this system is actually public universities application system, which are prime choices for students because of low tuition fee (90% or so tuition fee are subsidized). there are limited placement and only the best students get accepted into their chosen courses at their chosen public university. others have to settle for less popular courses given to them or go to private universities/colleges where they can study whatever they want (but pay higher tuition fee). most people with money didn't even bother to use this public universities application system, I assure you that.
