Girl, living costs money. We don't know how much his previous job paid him but, one, his constant trip to the hospital costed him money when he was on the job, two, the money mls mom gave him, he used it to move while quitting his job, and remember all this time he was still living on his savings before he ran away and even though he lived a minimalistic life he was still paying the bills, three, after he ran away he had to move into a new home, put jin in a new school, plus he was pregnant and was probably thinking about the future and that he will not be able to work while postpartum and he also had to feed two kids not to mention how much the hospital bills will be after giving birth, ie, if he doesn't have health insurance.
