I can understand why this story doesn't have mass appeal. The first few chapters can be difficult to get into with all the office talk, and the narrative is more an exploration of a toxic, codependent relationship between two damaged people with major abandonment issues than a typical romance, but damn if I didn't find it deeply emotionally affecting. It was so satisfying to watch Dan find his inner strength and self-worth. He doesn't end the story healed mentally or physically, but finding his own peace, acceptance, and personal fulfillment within the framework of the poor hand he's been dealt feels so much more realistic and impactful than some kind of tacked on fix-it conclusion. I appreciated the art style, too. It feels more dynamic and emotive than the typical webtoon style and fits the mood of the story better for that reason. I get why this won't be others cup of tea, but it works for me. This story will stick with me for a long time.
