seoha refuses to see yul for who he is, he only sees what he wants to see. gongju not only sees yul for who he is but accepts him flaws and all. I don't care about the actually ending, it's a gongju endgame in my heart!
prev comment I left on this series: "this is definitely a porn without plot (or very little plot) kind of read, so I'm trying to take it for what it is, but I'm really not sold on Seoha. He's emotionally manipulative and literally gaslighted and raped Yul by having sex with him while he's asleep and can't consent. He acts like he's protecting Yul from Gongju, but really he only has his own best interest in mind while Gongju is the one who looks out for Yul. Gongju isn't perfect, either, but he clearly knows Yul very well and cares deeply about him despite acting cool and aloof. Yul and Gongju have chemistry, they're friends and have rapport, and while normally I can get down with a 3p story, I find myself wishing this was a Yul and Gongju endgame."
so yeah, Seoha can go screw himself!

I can understand why this story doesn't have mass appeal. The first few chapters can be difficult to get into with all the office talk, and the narrative is more an exploration of a toxic, codependent relationship between two damaged people with major abandonment issues than a typical romance, but damn if I didn't find it deeply emotionally affecting. It was so satisfying to watch Dan find his inner strength and self-worth. He doesn't end the story healed mentally or physically, but finding his own peace, acceptance, and personal fulfillment within the framework of the poor hand he's been dealt feels so much more realistic and impactful than some kind of tacked on fix-it conclusion. I appreciated the art style, too. It feels more dynamic and emotive than the typical webtoon style and fits the mood of the story better for that reason. I get why this won't be others cup of tea, but it works for me. This story will stick with me for a long time.
