Imagine doing your best to make life a living hell for a child and still expect him to have mercy for you after begging him. Couldn’t be me ╮( ̄▽ ̄)╭ that’s why I was surprised when she let him go to school. I think this is the one decision I find so incongruent with her characterization. She’s been shown to be ruthless and not afraid to use her family but she let an illegitimate child that threatens her own child’s claim to the throne leave her watch and allowed him to attend a school with other nobles… did she try to have him killed while he was in school? I don’t remember.

As soon as she said “a rabbit’s heart…” with that pose, I knew it was Vivi who told her that stuff!
These fools think they’re smart but watch as they willingly walk into the web spun by Tia and Clerivan
I knew it! It was either gonna be incredibly touching or a gag gift. But considering the recent events it makes more sense for it to be a touching gift. I wanted to see what the crying duke would’ve looked like tho. Excuse me while I go finish crying over in my corner
Who are yall siding with between dojin and hyesung? While I think dojin yelling didn’t really help to accomplish things, I’m on his side. What he said stuck with me: you’re the one who gave up what you were good at to go study. And responding to byul’s question with “because I trusted you”. He was willing to let byul do what he wanted even tho he knew that studying wasn’t byul’s strong suit. It’s not about the results either. He just wanted to see byul do his best. I don’t think he was expecting anything like top 10 considering byul’s strengths but he definitely wasn’t expecting those scores. The way he sees it, byul betrayed his trust with those scores. He hardly sees him studying and byul doesn’t say anything about needing help either. So of course he was mad because byul isn’t taking it seriously. But then again, maybe these should’ve been communicated to byul instead of just letting him do what he wanted.
Why are we dragging this on???? Is the author planning for a big redemption for doyeon?! I’m saying this rn, nothing is gonna change me to like him. Nothing about these flashbacks so far has turned me around to him. Maybe I’ll dislike him a little less but I’m not gonna like his character. He’s the epitome of all my hate towards the 2nd love interest in romance. He provides nothing towards being a viable love interest other than he had history with the ML. He only exists as a plot device to “test” the strength of the main couple’s love and trust in each other. Which he’s done. SO WHY ARE WE STILL GOING THROUGH HIS ARC?! He doesn’t seem to have changed much from before!
Maybe I’m too blinded by my bias so can someone who actually likes him tell me why he’s not so bad?
Okay yall. Let’s chill and reread her explanation. While I also agree that her explanation was kinda weak and could’ve probably been written better, the crux of her explanation is that being “different” is lonely. She sees herself as different and can’t fit in with her friends despite their shared interests due to her trauma as a neglected child. She said her friends had “normal lives with loving parents” (not a direct quote) while she lived an “abnormal” one with her grandmother and abandoned by her parents. It was “painful” being the odd one out. SO she didn’t want her older brother to experience the same thing as her: being rejected by everyone because he was dating another man.
She clearly needs therapy because based on what she’s said about them, her friends seem decent. They share a common interest and were willing to celebrate the whole day with her. Clearly she’s feeling some major imposter syndrome and pushing her friends away even tho they probably don’t even know why. She mentions she kinda ghosted them. In other words, she’s lonely but it’s of her own making. Instead of opening up about it to her friends, she keeps up the facade that she also has a loving family and makes herself an outsider because no one else knows. At least based on her story, no one is actually ostracizing her because of her trauma. She’s doing it to herself. Also she can’t support them because she doesn’t want to be “different”, which she would be if she supported them because she’s foreseeing them becoming ostracized for dating.
TLDR: the crux of her explanation is that being “different” is too lonely and hard, therefore if the town people found out about haebom and ho dating, they would be ostracized. And because she wants to fit in, she can’t support them.
Don’t get me wrong, she’s a smart person but she underestimates her opponents too much. And even allowing Perez to leave her sight and go study??? Why even give him the chance to fight back by letting him actually learn governance and skills???
The redhead is pissing me off. In general, I’m not a fan of people who say one thing but switch it up in the next sentence in a “joking” manner. It’s gaslighting behavior. Especially in this case where she responds to all of his questions with “xxx…jk xp”. No one’s fcking enjoying the game except you btch!
Ugh I wish this stupid blind date thing is over already. As much as I love Sovour and Robert, this is not what I wanted to see from them in the side stories. To be frank, I wasn’t expecting to see much from them anyway. If the guys don’t end up actually engaged/married after this whole thing, I’m gonna riot. Otherwise this whole thing is basically rage bait for the sovour/robert shippers. PLUS, correct me if I’m wrong but the pope barely showed up in the main story! Why is he relevant now?!
Bro what is the church’s problem with mikhail? Were his parents related to the church in any way something? I don’t recall them being involved in the church so while are they malding and hating on him so much? As if he had personally killed his parents with his own hands? I know he’s in line for the throne so were they the church’s puppets or something? Like they were a crucial part of the church’s plan to overthrow the emperor? Or is it something like the couple were the church’s biggest supporters? And now that they’ve died, the church has lost their power/influence or something?
That lady acted as if mikhail had a choice in his parents being sent to the border. (╬ ̄皿 ̄)凸
Okay so the rando dude that showed up in the last chapter is here but are we just gonna totally ignore his presence in the previous chapter? Maybe I’ll just wait for the official and see what happens there
Am I tripping? Who the hell was the guy that walked in the stable (through the open big door) during their convo? It didn’t look like the half brother so I was confused when he showed up at the end from the OTHER side (through a side door).
Yknow if I didn’t already know that the imperial couple are insecure btches, I would’ve liked them. The whole poor country girl falling in love with a neglected prince (at the time) was kinda cute.
Dowon has got to work on his poker face. You can’t be that expressive when watching spicy stuff like that in public.
*me having just read this chapter in public*
Btw are the parents divorced? It’s been a hot minute since I’ve read the story so I don’t remember the beginning. My instincts tell me that they are because dad wasn’t even introduced during Dojin’s story. Only the mom and only to say she suspected about dojin being in love with taeju.
I want him to get in Tia’s way so that Tia can expose his fake ass. He thinks he’s able to “hide” it well but he’s hiding nothing from grandpa. How insecure are you that you feel threatened a “little girl”? You literally had a whole lifetime ahead of her to develop your power and skill but didn’t because you felt entitled to it. And now your crying about it because she’s doing it better than your dumb ass.
Despite the fact that this man can probably carry me out of a burning build like nothing, he’s a total cinnamon roll and needs to be protected at all costs! XD he’s totally adorable! I love the moe gap between his aloof look but he’s a total romantic!
Lmao what’s the age gap between them again? It’s not that big right? It was just funny to me how Mr. Kwon said that as if he was 10+ years older than Sung Ho.
