Honestly, for a story like this, the abuse and Stockholm syndrome is pretty clear and I appreciate that for a fcked up story like this. It isn't really treating as a romance, but as clear cruelty and abuse that concerns multiple people around him. ML is a cruel piece of sht, MC is a naive 21 year old kid who never even saw the ocean in his life, let alone have sex or kissing someone. He's the type to lend someone 7,000 after initially meeting them and then feeling bad for them/make excuses for them after they run off with it. He has also been sexually assaulted and abused his entire life by his aunt who always said cruel and messed up things to him.

He is prime pickings for any abuser. ML took all of his firsts and starts with confining and abusing him. Then it turns to love bombing by giving him lee way, nice things, enough to make him happy for a moment, with full knowledge that he can take that happiness at any time, and he does over and over again. He is sweet, then he is absolutely cruel. Like MC says, he is clinging to any moment of happiness he can get, while being terrified of when the cruelty will start again, and he is starting to find a sense of security with ML. Rather than romance, I would espect the Stockholm syndrom to get worse as he convinces himself that ML is doing this because he loves him, or things get bad enough that he successfully escapes or klls himself once his grandma dies. I am interested to see where this shtfest goes.

Youngwoo said he loved Taejoo for ten years, and there are folks in the comments saying that he strung him along, that doesn't make any sense at all. He was with the MC for at least 5 of those years that Youngwoo loved him, and the other five he was spiraling because the MC was missing. Then Youngwoo sleeps with him when he is drunk and makes Taejoo believe that he raped him. From what I understand, Taejoo didn't string him on, Youngwoo was a hanger on who took advantage of someone in a weak state otherwise their relationship never would have happened. Yea he was there for Taejoo when he was losing it, but that is typical friendship behavior, that doesn't mean you are suddenly owed a relationship. There isn't a I am not on anyone's side here, there is a pretty clear side of who is right and who is wrong. The only thing Taejoo should have done was not date someone because you thought you raped them. Like how are you not skeptical that someone you supposedly raped wants to date you? It makes no sense. The good thing is that the moment he realized he didn't love him, he broke up with him. We saw him try to love him and reassure him to the point of treating his childhood love who just came out of a five year coma like garbage, so we cannot say he strung him along or used him as a rebound, he genuinely tried to love him, but in the end it was forced. It is the type of love you give when you think you owe someone. He is still trash for how he treated MC, like you cannot bitch slap someone and then suddenly decide that you care about their wellbeing. In the end, Youngwoo is the ultimate POS in the story. I don't necessarily like Kwon either, but Youngwoo is much much worse because without him and his antics, MC and Taejoo would be together or at least Taejoo wouldn't have to live with the guilt of something he didn't do.

Unless you want to see brutal rape, I would skip that, I was really hoping for something cute but I guess the creator just likes to torture and rape their characters. Don't think I will read this again. Well good thing I'm not paying for it, feel like this is the chief reason I don't pay for Yaoi stories, the likelihood that you will get rape and you have to drop it is too high.

While the sex is hot if you ignore the context, there is too much rape to love trope and its annoying and ruins it for me, but I still couldn't resist the two hot bara men going at it since there are so few muscular uke and seme pairings

If I was Yoon and someone said that last line to me, it would be done and over. Yoon is kind so he will probably find some way to blame himself like some of y'all are blaming him in the comments and patting Kwon on the back like he hasn't treated Yoon's emotions like shit either. Suddenly he catches feelings and he thinks that he can use his emotions to emotionally black mail him while reminding him that he was thrown away right in front of the guy that did it. I would never talk to that person again, or if I had to, any emotional initimcacy would be gone. If someone throws your past pain in your face or shames you for having emotions while wanting you to acknowledge their own, that is not a relationship to be in., Honestly if it wasn't for that scene, I would have been all for that relationship. But the entire chapter pissed me off. I hope Yoon tells him off.

They almost went the rape route but it was saved right on time with a swift punch to the face, thank god, I wish more yaois did that.

I know a lot of people probably want a redemption arc, but personally I think after all he's been throiugh, the emperor should love him from a distance and realize that he cannot claim him. I don't think they should be together at all, but this manga like many will probably go the cliche route. Bur having him fall in love with his abuser is a sick troupe, originally I didn't mind it, but logically and realistically its really messed up. I just want the MC to be free because the only real redemption the emperor can have is living without him.

He's getting so pathetic it's pissing me off. There was a solution to the situation right there if he just decided to be honest. he is the source of his own problem. There is a way to solve his situation but he's too ...ugh. whatever... it's a story and i won't let it kill me
