thanks for the last chapters comedic relief because the main story ending was disappointing. it was treated like a school recess conflict and didn't make sense;... what do you mean the families who willingly participated in the rebellion were killed but Herman was spared ? Anita the INSTIGATOR too ? And she vouched for Herman ? It doesn't make sense and it's ludicrous

I think they took Hermans case as a physiological one. Hermans loved Anita too much that he was more than likely just being popped manipulation + the brainwash—tbf she had been doing it since he were small; no doubt he’d be messed up. Anita vouched for him and basically said “i manipulated him like the first king did to me”

As for Anita, they explained why she was spared: Anita was going to be exiled but the fl took the fall for her, mostly because she wanted to do what she wanted to achieve throughout the story—freedom.

It’s disappointing because it’s different; but I feel it’s a lot more realistic and refreshing in a way. I mean when do you ever get a fl who actually sticks to her wish when she returns to the past? They usually just get married and have kids—this fl did all three!!

It's still unsatisfactory. I feel like Anita vouching for Herman was just because she felt sad for him and saw him as a reflection of what she was hundred year ago : a pushover. They made it a point in the story to make us understand that man was willing to get everybody he knows killed because he wanted to hit... There was no brainwashing and if it was really the reason why he was spared, it's even more nonsensical. Because in that case why would the people who really were brainwashed exiled, striped from their title and killed ? It's still ridiculous to me. I get you want to write a different story but make it believable at least

Haha wanted to hit.. too true tho. Although I don’t have much to say for Anita—it’s an each their own type of opinion—Herman said so that the brainwashing did work in the beginning.. but eventually he either got used to it/ repelled it; i don’t think they really spoke in depth about it. He WAS brainwashed, it’s difficult to say if it had any lasting effect on him—I mean the guy had heavy bags for crying out loud—but it can be considerable and I think that’s why he was given what he was given.

Now on the part where the other brainwashed people were beheaded, I think those were the people before the story concluded & (besides fl) no one new abt Anita?? I know the families or people, whatever, who did it without being brainwashed were executed in the finale.

I do agree with you nevertheless; when the chapter came out I was very confused, disappointed.. but overall this was my thought process after a reread and I accepted it
