I'm having the same confusion here. It might be two things. He kissed him goodbye which doesn't mean anything since he sees him as a brother or he kissed him and get married because he knows they can't be together because they are both man. I just hope it's the first one.
I believe he had romantic feelings but thought that they’ll both be better if he left. So that they could follow what is the next expected step. He probably felt guilty and that being the eldest he had encouraged biased feelings.

You should go back and look at page 84, or picture whatever, and a little before that, he is stroking his head. Then he literally kisses him, and the prince’s face is turned towards him… I dunno in which scene where he kisses the hand?
