lmao okay so the parts I’m most confused on is #1 the hot teacher guy. like is there two of them cause in that one orange scene he was old under the blanket and at the same time (I think) he was eating oranges with the student and the other guy. #2 was that guy the the scruffy beard the teachers dad? I can’t remember but if so I wonder why the teacher couldn't recognize him. I might reread it to see if I can understand it a little better lolz
1. i think that the guy who was eating oranges was actually his father/one of his ancestors. kinda showing how their hate for the owner takes over their lives and as soon as they meet the owner for the last time (before they die and get eaten by their descendant), they are filled with regret. like the guy under the blanket in that scene said, the owner had heard those same words he was saying over and over again before, as he had been with every single one of his ancestors before they died. his family is stuck in a perpetual loop of hating the owner until it defines their entire life, meeting owner and feeling regret, and then being unable to tell their descendant what they've learned, as they're about to die. hopefully the current curse guy/hot teacher guy is able to break this cycle of hate and then regret.
2. as for 2, i'm kinda confused on who the scruffy beard guy is? do u mean the guy who loves the owner (who over kicks out of the inn) and studies mononoke? or someone else?

oh as for 2., i think if you look at chapter 6, he's the person in that story, not curse guy's father. he's a studier of mononoke, who ran away from his friend after the friend's desire to learn more than him turned into an obsession. he was just living in the inn bc he didn't have anything back in the regular world and became friends with the owner/fell in love.
