this shows their dynamic shifted for better AND worse, it’s disgustingly toxic by choice. they wouldn’t love any other person besides each other, but della is still stuck in his violent ways and thoughts. keith knows what della will and won’t do, but isnt extremely terrified or trying to avoid della’s fit. instead he fights and even pushes back, and i like that it forces della to get uncomfortable after an entire lifetime of getting everything he wanted through inflicting pain or threats. im enjoying this mess!! make della become your dog keith! woof woof
