am i the only one who prefers manga over webtoon? like the art style in manga has so much personality than webtoon (not all).

    gros batard February 10, 2024 5:30 pm

the plots are simply just better. mangas have much more creative freedom and literally do what takes webtoons 3-10 chapters, mangas figure it out in like 2 chapters WITH extra stuff happening and it still somehow doesnt feel rushed. like why does a 8 chapter manga have more personality than an 80 page webtoon/manhwa

    ZOE☤ February 10, 2024 5:58 pm

    Mangas are just better.
The plots and the characters cant even be compared with Manwhas or webtoons
No unnecessary dramas needed. Just straight to the plot.
There r good mahwas too but majority lf them are trash.

    LGtfo February 10, 2024 8:39 pm

There’s more panels in manga so plot or character development happens faster

    MaruMaru February 10, 2024 9:01 pm

Yeah, artwise really depends. There are some manhwas with jaw-dropping scrumdily yum yum art (*cough* Barbarian Quest *cough cough* Roxana *cough*), but I understand what you mean when you say there's more personality in manga.

With manga, I feel as though you're able to tell artstyles apart more often and even recognise them in other places/works with most artists, where as in manhwa, it only happens for a select few. There have been WAY more instances where I've been like "Oh! This seems familiar, is this so-and-so??" with manga rather than manhwa.

Manga seems to understand the fact that an artstyle has to fit the vibe of the story, as well as be unique, but the same can't be said for manhwa.

Also, everyone is talking plotwise and I can agree to an extent. Though they both fall into stereotypes and following shitty trends, mangas are typically okay with being shorter but manhwas want to be long. Therefore mangas tend to only take on as much conflict as they need to and are satisifed, but manhwa wants to keep adding to increase readtime. This is also moreso because a lot of manhwa authors I've seen are one-hit-wonders in comparison to mangakas who often have multiple stories under their belt. If you ask me, I have no idea exactly why this is a pattern I see, I just see it
