I thought so too... but then I read the novel. It's a unique plot twist I haven't come across before. It's morally conflicting, but not for shock value, but you can really understand why a certain character did what he did but still understand that it was not the right thing to do. The way the conflict is resolved is really satisfying - it's rare to find a story which handles the resolve of a conflict maturely and gives the characters enough time to process what happened before reconciling.
In addition, author-nim is an expert at leading the reader on, b/c they know what plot progression the reader expects, just to throw them completely off. All the little gestures and details will make perfect sense in time.

Yes! I'm glad they were able to resolve and got married in the end. The breakup arc was painful for Weikun but at least we know both of them still loved and yearned for each other.

|| Oh, so you did read the novel? Then why did you say that MC is a golden Omega?!? He's not! He got turned into an Omega later on, but he was a legitimate Beta at the point of the current story. The whole conflict was about ML using his Ghost ability (it had nothing to do with him being a golden Alpha) to change MC into an Omega without telling him about it. ||

He is a golden omega okay? If he was a beta there's no way Weikun would be able to change him into an omega. The fact that he can smell Weikun is proof enough. It was stated in the novel too! Dude did we read the same novel? Yeehyeon can't smell other alpha's scent/pheromones but Weikun's only, that's bcs they're both rare! But sure whatever makes you feel taller.

It was not meant as an insult, I was just genuinely curious, b/c your comment utterly confused me. Sorry if it came across otherwise. I'm reading this story rn (I'm in the middle of the side stories), so everything is very fresh in my memory. It's ok to misremember things (I forget stuff all the time), and I also don't know how long ago you've read this story. I can assure you that he was changed from a Beta to an Omega, and that they were able to sense each other scents was due to them being a perfect matche (Ghost&Didi). It was pointed out time and time again that no Alpha, also no other golden Alpha was able to smell MC's scent and that ML was confused, b/c he could clearly smell sth., but MC wouldn't get wet during sex like Omegas do, and that MC grew reproductive organs during the changing process (why would he need to grow them if he would've been an Omega all along? - makes no sense). What would be point of introducing the concept of Ghost & Didi, if it was about them being golden Alpha & golden Omega from the get-go?
They introduced the concept of ML being a ghost to the story as an explanation for him being able to change ANYONE, even a Beta. (Remember the book about ML's ancestors? It was about that very topic. Why introduce this topic if it'd be irrelevant to yhe story?).
The impact of the main conflict was so strong, b/c ML started to change MC core biology without his knowledge and approval. If he'd merely awakened MC's dormant Omega traits, the conflict wouldn't have been much of an conflict to begin with.
The genius thing about this story is, that one thinks at the beginning: I know where it's going, ML is a golden Alpha, so ofc, MC is going to turn out to be a golden Omega only ML can smell, just to get completely flipped by the introduction of the completely new concept of Ghost & Didi, which I've never seen anywhere else before

for the last time! Yeehyeon is an omega! The title alone explains it! Diamond dust. He is just as rare as Weikun being a golden alpha! Stop complicating thins with your lengthy replies. Weikun knows it too, otherwise he wouldnt be able to smell Yeehyeon. More like they complete each other bcs they're both rare.

Basically author shows us the hint that Weikun is not just an Ordinary Golden Alpha , which later on we find out that he is a Ghost, meaning he has ability to change a beta to an omega every time he knots ( and he will a lot ) ! But the plot twist is Yeehyeon is not just a Beta he is a diamond dust, a diamond dust is the one who can make Ghost react to him. And that’s why we can see Weikun smells something when they are doing it in previous chapters, which he can’t understand cause betas don’t have pheromones !!!

This I can agree upon. He's a Diamond Dust, so basically neither Golden Omega nor Beta. So we both framed it wrong beforehand, but meant the same thing. Good to know

What I meant with "we both framed it wrong": I falsely assumed that he started off as a Beta, b/c I focused too much on his beta-like characteristics (not being able to be smelled by anyone besides the Ghost, growing reproductive organs during the changing), and you falsely assumed he started off as Golden Omega by focusing too much on his omega-like trait (his pheromones being able to be smelled by Weikun, who happens to be both - Golden Alpha and Ghost). We both missed that he always was a Diamond Dust and never anything else, so it'd be better to say that he started off as a Diamond Dust without reproductive organs and was changed into a Diamond Dust with reproductive organs

its safe to say i assumed but the logic speaks for itself, the moment Weikun smelled something from him, I instantly knew he's an omega (lol the perspective of omegaverse i think) the novel was so beautiful that the manhwa was not detailed enough though the art is really great! i just hope the manhwa readers would take time to read the novel too right?

At the beginning, I assumed the same - Weikum smells sth., he must be an Omega. Author-nim certainly knows their audience
Compared to other stories, the manhwa does a pretty good job, I think. Many of the little details stayed in, but yeah, it hits different to read the novel. I wish that more ppl would read the novel too.
Same goes for I Ship My Rival x Me, while I absolutely adore the manhua, it can't even begin to compare to the novel. The way the novel is written is just so damn hilarious
