Very rare that a full restart of the series won't be finished. It usually means they didn't have enough time/skill (sometimes artists won't like the look of their art as is, an want to try again when they improve) to finish it the first time. So when they restart, it usually means that they either feel more positive about their work or that they now have the time to work on the project.
So, it would actually be more surprising for them to stop now.
