I just hope that if she does push for it to be yaoi, the leads are more grown up, I'd prefer a time skip too but considering that the author put them as 17yo, it's more likely that she'll just redirect the plot for them to be of legal age and then the smut will commence, specially since if you look at her other works, university settings are also quite common too.
