it's set in a royalty, nobles, medieval-type kind of world. plot-wise, there's this shut-in girl (who is the daughter of a noble) who doesn't want to get out of their house because she has this trauma. when she was young this boy said, "your face is weird!" and it somehow triggered her fear of socializing.
she's hella smart and she beat the king who is unbeatable in chess. then again, said king died and she's now one of the candidates for the throne. she has a few rivals (all boys) and as far as i know, they're currently solving some sort of mystery right now.
