They better have not fucked anyone else during that time skip. Such an easy misunderstanding to fix.

I so agree, not because I don't want them to have had other partners in general, but more that I don't want one of their exes to pop their ugly heads (or rude attitudes cuz that's normally the trope) to get in between them again

Yeah, I'll just drop it if that happens.
It was going so well. I didn't read this for ex-boyfriend drama.

This feels refreshing to read. I love this.

Usually we just get the FL's POV and the story unfolds from their perspective. Being able to know the MLs POV from the beginning makes this enjoyable to read. It doesn't give me a ton of anxiety because he's a green flag with no hidden agendas. Estrella is a good FL as well - firm, determined, not annoying or clumsy.

Does anyone know other work that tells the story from the ML's perspective? I know it's common in action manhwa but I wanna know other ones where there's romance. I don't get to see this often.

wunderkind February 27, 2025 6:29 am

ngl i love dumb stupid plots like these
does someone know other manhwa that have mcs with lots of aegyo?

He's hella cute when he's a child but I hate how he ended up like those typical male leads who are just mean to the FL. He keeps testing her and making her jealous on purpose ugh

It's revealed that she's not a normal child.
One of the reasons why she has such abnormal, psychotic thoughts is because she's not human.
Apparently, she's a demon. Which is good since I kind of felt bad that she was being treated badly by her father in the beginning ngl.

wunderkind March 10, 2021 1:05 pm

what i'm pissed off about is that they're like 'okay, let's just send the saintness'.
it doesn't matter if she can activate the skill or not. political or not.

can't you just, i dunno... ask her first if she wants to go? isn't it better to discuss this first with the actual person involved rather than telling magician-sama and hawk-sama? if it were me i'd be triggered because wow, am i your subordinate or smth?

aside from the delayed apology (which took months, they just basically left her alone and monitored her secretly.) i hate it because boi, CAN'T YOU JUST FUCKING ASK? DO YOU HAVE THE HEALING SKILL OR NAH? they're being sneaky and stuff and it's so bad.

also, if sei didn't ask for an instructor then what? they're just going to leave her in their world, clueless with no common sense? thankfully she had the gall to go to the library and learn by herself because unlike aira who is at the academy, she basically has zero knowledge in this world. if it weren't for jude and director-san you guys are fucked.

they're lucky that sei's nice. they're so goddamn lucky.
i hope she never reveals her stat details as some form of petty revenge.

    Mokona44 March 10, 2021 1:10 pm

Not to forget that she was almost burned alive last time they sent her in a subjugation. The only reason she was fine is because dear Captain had gifted her something with a protection spell on it. At this stage, she could be traumatized enough to just not care and go into a strike if not leave the kingdom and they would have no idea until it slapped them in the face.

    COUNTDOWN123 March 10, 2021 4:05 pm

Idc just burn the whole kingdom away (︶︿︶)

    wunderkind March 10, 2021 6:12 pm

actually, i'm glad it was sei that got ignored because imagine if it was aira.
aira, a sixteen year old child, summoned but not the saint, cast aside for months before receiving an apology from the king. at that point i bet she would just be done. like depressed af. and she can't even go home.

i bet they didn't even think that sei was the saintess (thus they kept her in that shabby room when she was summoned). i remember seeing her be like 'wow, it's like medieval europe' but now that i look back on it, it was a shabby af room for someone who they expect is the saint. her clothes weren't as extravagant as aira's in the beginning and they fucking made her wait for literal hours.

also, territory? give her a title to tie her down to the kingdom so she can't leave?
bitch no. i'm glad she refused.

others: OMG IT'S SO TOXIC CANCEL THIS
us harada fans sipping tea, quietly observing: hmm...

anyway, you guys are too sensitive about this. there's a psychological tag and if you didn't know, most manga with that is kinda fucked up or would involve some kind of sensitive topic. you've been warned but you still clicked on it. it's your fault for not reading the tags so don't blame the author. this manga is pretty tame for one with a psychological tag actually.

also, don't bring your cancel culture into this. mind you this is written by a japanese author so sexism and the like are not given as much focus there. their workforce is literally dominated by men. this was written for a japanese audience so don't apply your western standards here, it won't make sense and you'll just get hurt. anyway, i was just trying to point out the cultural difference. something you might find unacceptable for fiction might be normal for others. there's literally worse things like ntr.

i really liked given until i realized that yuki and mafuyu had sex when they were probably just 13 or 14 years old ugh. now, people can sleep with whoever they want but personally, that's a bit of a meh... if it weren't for the art it's borderline shota tbh. i know their story is beautiful and all but their age just throws me off and i can't take it seriously.

    Nana_fujoshi December 30, 2020 1:44 pm

That’s not how Shota works babe. Take it from me, a teenager. Teenagers fuck (specifically 14-17) other teenagers and they’re not gonna stop anytime soon. As long as they both consent and they’re both the same age it really isn’t a problem. All I can say it it’s only weird if grown people get involved. It’s not shota AT ALL. I’m not trying to be rude or anything, it’s just a little patronising tbh

    wunderkind December 30, 2020 3:32 pm

yes, i know that's not how shota works. i was referring more towards myself because am i supposed to go 'aww, that's so romantic' when i see 13-year-olds sexually active? personally, i do not and that's not my cup of tea as a reader. it is a common trope in yaoi though so i'll take it with a grain of salt. i did say it's 'borderline' shota though, if that makes you feel better.

and well, i guess teenagers have a different point of view? i'm nineteen almost turning twenty. i used to find a bunch of toxic tropes romantic before getting an eye-opener. my comment was more so constructive criticism to the author. they could've made them older but they didn't. with the underlying themes of rape and toxicity, i wouldn't be surprised. perhaps that wasn't their intention but still...

also, is prepubescent sex viewed normal even with consent? i don't really know. as long as they're enjoying it, maybe? i just don't like seeing children have sex in general hahahaha. you may say that i could just stop reading but i wanna see uenoyama get a happy ending, he desperately needs one ugh.

anyway, this is just an opinion. peace.

    Ereka December 30, 2020 5:54 pm

I don't think any grown up person would find it romantic. What is romantic about kids having sex, anyway? I don't find it romantic either.
I think Teenagers don't think much about whether it's right or wrong. Maybe they just act on their harmones.
I'm not sure of author's intention, but I think many teenagers have sex at such an young age. Since the author writes mostly shounern AI genre, I would like to think that she just showed something that really does happen a lot.
Yes, it is not right but it does happen a lot, so you can call it normal as long as it is consensual, but only if both of them are kids. But not if one person is an adult then that's really disgusting.

    Chewing January 1, 2021 1:55 am

Just wanted to tell you that the legal age of consent to have sex in Japan is 13. And in America kids have sex way before legal ages as well. Yea it’s your opinion but you’re making it sound like Yuki was 5 years older than Mafuyu.

And nobody said it was supposed to be romantic. But it’s something that most couples do especially when they are of age.

And I’ve gotta say they’ve never implicitly mentioned they both will have sex. If you’re referring to Yuki’s mention of “let’s have sex in the bathroom” Mafuyu relies with “yeah let’s not”.

well, yes, age of consent is different in japan. i don't live in America either so i don't know how it works there as well. either way, yuki is not the problem. it's neither mafuyu or yuki. i'm just saying that i find 13-year-olds having sex a bit weird lol. i definitely wasn't implying that yuki was 5 years older than mafuyu hahahaha

    sleeeeeepy January 1, 2021 10:50 am

YES! The story might be good plot wise but there are so many disturbing things in it. Prepubescent teens having sex in shounen ai mangas creep me out as well.

    venus January 1, 2021 11:58 pm

you shouldn’t judge people on their sex lives.. people can literally get raped at that age , and this was consensual. along with the fact the age to have sex in japan is 13. it’s like judging their race and culture..

uhh, i literally said that this was nothing against mafuyu or yuki. this was a personal matter, a personal opinion. because PERSONALLY, i do not like reading young characters have sex. this has nothing to do with consent. this entire thread was a PERSONAL opinion. a PERSONAL preference. you're making this more serious lol

wunderkind November 29, 2020 5:32 pm

i don't know about you guys but i feel like author-san just keeps milking this whole yuki situation and it's kind of overbearing at this point to be honest. if i were uenoyama i'd feel utterly defeated (keep in mind that they're still 17). it's like having a rival that's non-existent and they're still young. i think breaking up with mafuyu is better.

also, to those that were saying that yuki and mafuyu were literal soulmates well... it's half-true, half-lie? the probability of finding the love of your life at that age is kinda low. in the end, yuki choose to die rather than to live. it just proves that although he did love mafuyu, it wasn't enough. even yuki choose his own self over his lover.

the only thing that puts me off is that although yuki and mafuyu's story is romantic and angsty and all... the fact that they had sex at the age of 14-15 is kinda weird (i can only assume so since mafuyu, when he meets uenoyama in highschool is already 16). by then a year had already passed after yuki's death so he was 15 when he died. they probably did it earlier than that so maybe 13 or 14, yikes.

now don't get me wrong. people can sleep with whoever they'd like. personally, it's just a bit offputting and the moment i realized it, everything just kinda became a bit meh for me.

    LesMinister December 1, 2020 6:19 am

Kind of. The story isnt moving forward much, since after the haru-aki-uge arc. Lots of update with minor devts. Just one of my 2 sents.(⌒▽⌒)

    LesMinister December 1, 2020 6:21 am

Also age of consent in japan is 12/13 if am not mistaken.

    Victobff December 2, 2020 1:44 am

I know... its so frustrating. yuki is dead and he is EVERYWHERE, like boy... and the entire sex at 13 or 14 really creeped me out also

    Bazinga December 3, 2020 5:26 am

Ppl look at this story more out of sympathy and fail to see soo many things that are probably 'realistic' but still unfair. The uge arc was messed up they were toxic to e/o and akihiko barely deserved haruki after what he did and generally nothing like abuse should be justified but here everyone started throwing a pity party... Why? Damn cz it's realistic lol. Mafuyu jumped into another relationship while still holding onto the past which is again looked at emotionally bcz yuki isn't alive but had he been alive and mafuyu was still holding onto him that would be considered emotional cheating and unfair to ueno but heyyy it's a pity session here so let's all go with tears. Ppl are gonna call me insensitive but practically speaking I would not be able to be in a relationship with someone who searches or gets reminded of their past lover in me... Nope that's a red flag...get rid of ur baggage first take time heal and then move onto the next partner but oh well this turned into an essay. Sorry ! I had to get this out of my system

I am honestly only interested in this manga bcz I want to see ueno's character and his developments. He's very interesting and straight forward. Even haruki is pretty cool but I think his arc is done so there won't be much ahead.

    wunderkind December 26, 2020 4:36 pm

Yeah, there's rape, cheating, and dark stuff in the story. This feels more like a toxic psychological kinda plot tbh. I still can't get over the underage sex though. Isn't that kinda like I dunno? Shota x shota? 13-14 year olds having sex, nuh-uh. Readers be going 'awwww, they slept together. That's heartbreaking and sweet' while I'm here like 'no, that's gross'. If it weren't for the art that scene would've been hella creepy with Yuki and Mafuyu.
