it's interesting how oedipal mother cases in history are often rooted in a woman's lack of agency during those times. after giving birth to a son they hinge all their self worth on them and act territorial, seeing other women as the enemy that exist to steal the authority they gained via their male child instead of the patriarchal system that robbed them of their personhood. which kinda makes sense for this character.
it's also why in the present you see normal parents call themselves 'mom' while some women caught up in conservative social circles & tradwife lifestyles like to label themselves 'boy moms' to emphasize how they integrate their child's gender into their own identity.
i hate it when they prematurely do this
like, tf you joking around with your twin for and claiming who? this ain't the time for a romantic chasing arc interlude when he STILL talks down to her and trivializes her autonomy
i thought him going to the barn in the middle of the night would be to grovel and apologize and admit to her face how much he let her suffer, but wtf was that
if Erna stars blushing and getting flustered over him next chapter i'm gonna crash out.
OLD LADY STOP ENABLING HIS BS. I'm slowly realizing part of the reason he's such an unsympathetic narcissist is because of the people around him so quick to forgive his horrendous actions that he naturally expects erna to do so without question. THIS WOMAN WENT THROUGH A TRAUMATIZING MISCARRIAGE AFTER BEING OSTRACIZED AND ABUSED FOR SO LONG. SHE WAS ON HER OWN. You pity her, but don't think twice how your master is the main perpetrator for her suffering? Tf.
it's funny how nearly every modern regression webtoon has the IMF crisis as the OP economic flex arc. that shi really traumatized everyone, not just those in the workforce so you get an entire generation writing wish-fulfillment fantasy of they could've salvaged what they can before the crash. don't get me wrong, i love this part bc the regression trope truly shines (or fumbles, depends on the author) during this story line.

he's so proud of his mamas
