Would it be wrong of me to assume the author used The Summer Hikaru died as an inspiration in some sort of way? The character designs, the hand mark on his arm, and the depiction of Oda as a monster taking over his body seemed familiar
I looked into it, tshd came out after this manga, it released on dec 23, 2021, while this manga released on aug 21 2021 so it would be impossible for this author to have taken inspiration in any way, since the work is older than tdsh, also the whole body Horror/monster taking over etc have always existed in bl, if you look at the old dark works, you could see it being used as a metaphor, so tsdh didn't technically created it, also mc looks like that because "character w black hair and nervous personality " have always been used to showcase a weak mc, and since mc is supposed to be the bullied suicidal average looking dude character, it would be obvious author went for such desgin, also the desgin is popular as well in manga as it describes "the average looking male" so again, impossible to take inspiration of something that already exists, I'm not coming at you just letting you know so you wouldn't think this author is being unoriginal because really no inspiration has been taken as far as I know.
