It was the Otome Game Amnesia and one of the plot twists in the Anime adaptation. He was one of the love interests with a split personality, one side loved her and tried to save her and the other tried to kill her. But don't watch the Anime, it's pretty bad in explaining anything and I have never seen any heroine with less personality than her.
