I was rereading the novel and I can’t wait for the chapter that Zhenya’s sister gives an apple to Taekjoo hihihihihihi (if you know you know)

So basically, there's this scene where Zhenya's sister visits him on his island, where he's keeping Taekjoo captive, and she brings him some fruit to eat during her stay there (oh, she went to the island without telling Zhenya). Olga (the sister) was peeling an apple in front of Taekjoo in a not very productive way, so he decides to peel and cut the fruit for her because it would be faster and more practical. He eventually ends up eating an apple she brought, because it was already turning yellow. At that moment, Zhenya comes back (he wasn't home when Olga arrived, Taekjoo was alone), and comes across the scene and is intrigued by his sister's presence, so he stares at Taejon eating the apple and then asks "When did that come?" - yes, referring to his sister that way lol. After that he kind of throws a tantrum, he makes Taekjoo some mixed rice and forces him to eat it even though he already asked if he had eaten it, to which he nodded. When Taekjoo protested again that he had already eaten, Zhenya said "Don't pick up and eat dirty things" with a grimace. Because until now everything Teakjoo did was controlled by Zhenya, what to eat, what to do, where to sleep... and the fact that Zhenya tattooed Taekjoo as her property only made it more visual, that he is supposed to depend on Zhenya. ╮( ̄▽ ̄)╭
Btw Olga’s presence in the house triggered MANY events, it all went spiralling from there.

I’m in complete shock and at loss of words.. this story is so rich and the approach the author chose to take is so compelling to me, it’s truly a masterpiece.
See? you don’t need to romanticizing r for the sake of shock, it’s not cool, it’s not quirky… this is good writing, this is to make you reflect, to make you uncomfortable and feel helpless just as much as the character - and it does a fantastic job in making you fear men, definitely choosing the bear btw.
You don’t need to give an awful past to a character to exempt them of responsibility, people can just be evil without any “logical” reason.
Also fuck redemption arcs.
Again, I love this approach, very mature, very rich and very interesting.
LMAO I love Shahid so much, he’s so unserious it’s hilarious
