The first 20~ chapters were so good and emotional with how the FL/ML were written, especially relating to each others traumas. Their night market date was also super cute and the line about how “even if it’s not a great life, good things still happen” touched me immensly. However, now every chapter feels like “gaining political power to be empress” or “planning an imperial event” and “antagonist puts pressure on FL.” I don’t hate it, but the characters relationships with each other aren’t really developing anymore even though that’s the main charm this manhwa had. I’d like the story more right now if there were actual stakes besides “I love the ML, I can’t share him” and “trying not to die.” Will keep reading in hopes things start progressing faster but we’ll see.
I love the pacing right now and how they clearly like each other but haven’t realized it yet. Also, him helping her mom with strenuous work was sooo sweet.
