Sorry but fake Ella did not have PPD in her previous life. Her goal was ALWAYS the Prince and his undivided attention. Which is why she loved the book. She probably only had kids because she was following the original progression of the book, and had she known that the Emperor would love spending time with his kids (as a dad should), bitch probably would have tied her tubes. The craziness and jealousy became worse cos she stopped being his whole world and she never actually care for the kids (which just made him fall out of love with her even more LOL), we can assume real Ella did and was probably a wonderful mum which made her husband love her more. Chapter 31 & 32, the mum's story, is heartbreaking. The dad is such a piece of shit, even without the in-depth look at what happened, you could already tell from the snippets that the mum had a mental break. I haven't watched the drama but i wonder if they did the story justice, in it.

Literally right after Redhaired psycho Alpha met his daddy at the restaurant and joked about him having other children

Although this story's genre is CLEARLY fantasy (dreaming habouring spirits/work from home vitual acting), that the author took a more realistic approach to Qi's reaction and he fully shutdown Yu. Saying he will only ever see him as a brother, whether adopted or not, and romantic feelings will never enter the equation. Now that would be an interesting take LOL
