In my opinion I hated that happened to him so much while I can also be angry because why is he making it seem like the ml is doing this for no reason when he literally knows his loved one got rapped and the person is right there and the mc is playing it off cool. idk i feel like it could be a trauma response to what just happened to him, also in MC’s eyes he still believes that ML doesn’t love him and just wants to be the next head, which obviously we know isn’t the case, but we as the readers are seeing things from a different perspective, and MC has obviously forgotten the “promise,” they made years ago, or just didn’t put any emphasis on it like the ML did for whatever reason.
