We all know Luci is, unfortunately for some of us, the ML. If FL can live indefinitely because dragon bullshit, human Richard obviously isn't going to be the ML. (╬ ̄皿 ̄)凸
ML Luci can likely pull some plot shenanigans to get an extended life since he's essentially an angel. They really sidelined Richard and, sure, his obsession with FL is unhealthy and definitely problematic, but the kid is great. He has a unique design and is ripe for some character growth. Which we won't get OFF SCREEN. Luci is the realistic choice and he's fine, but gosh. That kid is stagnant personality wise. He's just the compassionate ML with a humour streak. He doesn't change much from that.
I want to see more Richard, even if it's just him coming to terms with the reality that he's the second ML and moving on. He deserves happiness, too.
P.S. this definitely feels like one of those stories a character reincarnates into and finds out FL is a terrible person. Not to downplay her character or her growth, but it feels superficial enough to work.
It's not good.
King married a child to protect her from her abusive parents. He treated her like a student, so he's not a pedo here. Wild he just didn't adopt her or do anything else. Y'all will notice that the question of 'couldn't they have done ANYTHING else' will be asked multiple times if you read this.
Girl becomes queen and, unless it's plot relevant, her position is just a joke in this story. She could execute people for disrespecting her or throw them in jail, but doesn't. People walk all over her. And not in the normal meek FL way, but in an annoying way that doesn't make sense since SHE IS LITERALLY THE QUEEN. She is the sole ruler. Nikias pals should have been smited or punished the second they refered to her as 'that woman' to her face in any other decent story. Σ( ̄□ ̄||)
Typical distant father used a scepter to save people and it, SPOILER *sacrifices the user's loved one* SPOILER. He regrets both his wives dying and doesn't want his ONLY son to be the ruler so he won't use it instead of, idk, breaking it or doing ANYTHING ELSE.
It's stupid and definitely a 'don't think too hard, guys' read. In fact, it gives up on itself with an open end finish.
Could have been a decent read if they just had the king adopt MC as a child or arrange for her to marry Nikias as a smoke screen to protect her from her abusive parents. Fast forward to being teens and the king passes away. A bunch of problems arise and using the scepter becomes the only viable option. MC dies as a result and wow reincarnation time and she discovers those issues were a plot by the bad crazy man obsessed with people being worse off than him to do something more substantial than be obsessed with MC's misery. Nikias didn't reincarnate and deals with feelings of inadequacy at MC's newfound confidence and success. Not to mention learning the scepter killed his mother. Still not great, but definitely would have more substance than this story. ┗( T﹏T )┛
This is often happened in manga. Even with title and power they doesnt use it as an advantage but instead let people easily walk over them. The nobles that use her still a 'power' that would make her word become legitimate. SHE IS NOT WITHOUT POWER! The author just made the knights looks so fucking stupid for dare to challenge their lord. Idk what's with japanese author. Is it kindness to let people do as they want? No! It's stupidity.
Gender bending has been around since at least Shakespeare. It's a contrived plot, sure, but it's free angst for all parties involved. Yeah, the author could have avoided the whole BL novel; however, the misunderstanding of how the novel story works wouldn't be as inherent. The use of a BL novel is to subvert the MC's expectations (and the transmigrator's too) to fuel drama.
Having a GL would be fun (like maybe Xavian turns out to be a woman, too. It would add a nice layer.), but that isn't going to happen.
Thank you!! I was running to comment but you already said everything I wanted to say. Gender bender/cross-dressing stories have always existed, as well as 'transmigrating into a BL novel' ones. I don't know why everybody is so triggered. There are straight stories, there are queer stories, and then we have this kind of stories that are a bit of a mix (we usually have a love interest questioning their sexuality and realizing they don't care about the mc's gender and love them either way, which is what makes me love these stories so much when they're done well). There are LOTS of BL and (a bit less) GLs stories to choose from already, can't we have a bit of variety with more unusual storylines?
ALSO why is it always black or white, straight or gay? A character can be bisexual, pansexual, whatever. Just because an hyphotetically gay character falls in love with a woman doesn't make them less 'gay' (ykwim, they still like men, they just like women or A woman as well)
Lemme cook.
Shaman even said prophecies are vague and stuff so what if "fade into the shadows" means metaphorical death. The twin could be exiled or be removed from the family register/run away to another country.
I can see FLmc leaving to explore the world she's so curious about and living her best life. I just don't want this to end in tragedy. The MLmc likely will be the one who dies since A. He's got that illness trope b. His sister is physically stronger than him and this, in manwha, is usually a sign she's going to live.
And C she loves MLmc and would bow out to support him.
Hoshino finally feeding us. Aaaand it's flashback soup, again.
I knew Allen was likely connected to Bookman's previous successor, but more of a Neah's friend was Bookman Jr and became the host. Did not expect a whole 2 new characters. Now I'm curious if some of Allen's parental idealization of Mana partly stems from a lingering attachment to this Bookman Jr. we're going to see in these flashbacks.

I wouldn't be surprised if she isn't actually barren or if she can have children, but it won't be easy. Whose to say the Empress and/or CP didn't plant that so called 'medical' report. Her parents weren't told and it's only after Eldred died that it's suddenly revealed?
And you want me to believe that a little boy kept that secret under wraps for years and NO ONE knew? Doubtful. That Empress is nosey and spiteful.
