Yeah that was my guess too, it's really sad ngl... I like Donnie but she is hella oblivious and it's kinda annoying but I'm sure there is more to her character than it seems so we'll see...

So Jooins mom died when he was young. He got a new stepmom but his dad was always at work and she’s being in people to gamble and stuff. She also started using Jooin because she was the first to notice his rlly good memory. Time skip to when they were at court, Jooin revealed all that she did and she started calling him a creepy person. she said that he was different and that he had no heart. This really affected Jooin to creating fake personas to not reveal who he is. Ji-ho tríes to talk to him but each time he fails saying how Jooin has a some kind of “defense system”. Jooin also hates his memory. Jiho’s exact quote was “In some way, you are the only person whom Woo Jooin saved with his superb memory that he loathes.” (He was talking to Donnie)

There’s something called redemption. Before you hate on him read the novel. He’s a well written character. He helped Donnie when she was gravely endangered and where he basically gave up his freedom. If you read the novel you might know what I’m talking about.

don’t a lot of people are insulting him in the comments of how he was in this chapter, I agree that he shouldn’t have tried to monopolize Dani from her friends but he gets character development. I’m glad that we didn’t spoil anything and give people hindsight of how get changes later on within the series

I kinda got sad that people were starting to hate on him so I’m writing this. He’s not that bad of a person.
1. He’s a heir to big company and his mother wants him back even tho he doesn’t want to go. His mother is a cruel one tbh
2. When there’s a rlly bad Rumor about Donnie he agrees to help Woo Ju-in to help
3. Woo Ju-in mentions that they are similar. They do whatever to get what they want and they don’t care how they do it or who gets hurt.
4. He helps Donnie when she and Ban get kidnapped. His mother helps him under the condition that he returns
He’s really not that bad of a person guys. And I’m not that into the novel (around chapter 177) and got some of these spoilers from a spoiler chain

Fact: Chunyoung is the reason why Dani believes that anyone from the 4 heavenly kings will ever like her romantically. The whole “I like you” thing traumatized her. So she closes her heart and tries not to fall in love w any of them.
