Like I know the prince is an idiot and all, but he is acting that way out of guilt too. When Aira cried about not being able to go home the prince had a ba-thump moment! He shouldnt be coddling her. But it is the damsel in distress to his vague prince charming aura. Sei just needs to slap that prince and talk some sense into Aira. Maybe they meet when Sei is out on the subjugation!! That would be amazing!

I guess you didn't really read enough yaoi or don't go look for new yaoi. This is like one of the original plot for yaoi genre, and not every yaoi author make this plot, some wants to do it like this author. This is like a kind of genre that some people like like me want to read. There are a bunch of new stuff in bl not from yaoi but also bl from korea and china. Remember this is free from the translator. In other website like lezhin where you have to pay to read or others a bunch of cute and adorable story that has not yet been translated yet. Please think before you talk ლ(´ڡ`ლ)
There's nothing wrong with criticism, ya know? I love this author but this was pretty fair criticism.
I think bc of the way debt works in Japan. It’s bad here (& made worse that we now have ppl basically in jail for inability to pay off debt-modern day debtors prisons-it’s unconstitutional but the loophole seems to be debt incurred from state & govt fines-also the immoral cash bail system but that’s another topic) but in Japan it can be passed down to children. Actual fucking kids. There also seems to be a at least quasi legal loan shark business. Like we have pay day loans which prey on the lower class and desperate who don’t have credit,, which is bad. But Japan seems to made legal what in America would be the madia giving loans. At least that’s the impression I have. Also there’s the cultural difference. Awhile back Japan made it legal to commit suicide and still have your dependents receivee your life insurance. The law was spurred by a man who’d lost everything and put his family in economic hardship and wanted to kill himself (with his families approval) to give them money. There’s also a kind of shame involved too, which we also have but like I said the culture is different. The Japanese get really intense about stuff like familial honor and all that. It’s interesting.
This is NOT an original storyline. I have read SO MANY yahoos with this exact same plot. Also that other commentor is entitled to their opinion. How about YOU think before you talk.

Thanks for all the replies. I look for new yaoi all the time when I can. I especially love coming back to authors I like and seeing what they have new, that's why I was venting. Because I like this author and it is about the whole plot of loan sharks and stuff. I have a few mangas I reread sometimes that have this same plot. Like Datte Ai Ja Nai, or Lucky Item, or Okane Ga Nai. Just search for debt in yaoi and there will be pages full. And I appreciate all the hard work translators and their teams for these uploads. You read that comment wrong. They weren't saying "original" as in fresh and new. They were saying "original" as in one of the beginnings or the first. Ever heard of OGs, Original Gangsta, as in old foggies looking at the new fresh Rap Artist.
