Even when the final chapter were rushed it didn't feel like it. Everything was starting to wrap up, so much plot twists and surprises I didn't even notice the rush if anything im glad for it.

How does getting with your guardian even fit into all this. He's both arien and arjen guardian and was born for them. Hes basically their unofficial brother. Plus now there's more of a priority for arien, tho pretty sure arjen will be fine. I stopped reading a little bit into when the twin went to the academy but even then things were starting to take a weird turn and stopped. Then I hear on tiktok that arien gets with her guardian of all people.and now I'm hearing arjen doesn't even alot of attention anymore in the story. Holy crap

I totally agree. Sadly, Curtis gets the most screen time because the author prefers him above all the others. Even in the novel, it was evident that Curtis is and always will be a complete jerk. Everything he does is for his own benefit and because he wants to possess Bai Qingqing. His obsession with her is seriously weird and canonically, Curtis is supposedly 40 which is so fucking weird because we know Bai Qingqing is freaking 16. So there's that, too. Some people say it's because of him being a snake that he's a jerk but that's no excuse for not explaining how that world works and how Snakes operate with their children. But even still - Curtis would kill all his kids and also Parker's/Winston/Muir's kids if it means they got in his way. He also only had kids because he knew it would keep Bai Qingqing around. And Curtis consistently manipulates Bai Qingqing at every turn.
Suffice to say, I hate Curtis and I wish he'd drop off the face of the earth.
It seems like Astalieu has the potential to change because unlike his cousin who was blaming ferentia for everything, he was more broken by his grandfather's words and I think it will put him on a better path.
