I wonder if they are doing the entire art process themselves. Webtoons used to be done by a whole team of people but I heard some publishers don’t do that anymore, just make the author/artist do almost all of it and just edit/tweak it after they r done. Often a reason for 3D backgrounds.

Cuz they wanna cut corners and not have to pay for a whole team if one person can do it all. Most of these companies now a days, no matter what field it's in, will overwork a smaller group of ppl vs hiring a bigger functional group and have to pay more ppl. It's why the economy sucks rn. Rich ppl are greedy and other ppl are struggling to get jobs because of it. The manga/manhwa/anime field is no different. They just want to pump out as much material as they can to satisfy global command since its not as niche as it used to be, and stay within the trend cuz that's where the money is at, and often don't care about the individual as long as they're alive and still working.
Obviously this isn't the case everywhere, but it is in a lot of these scenarios.
