From how I see it, she has a lot of good backing. The best etiquette teacher, the war hero and his soldiers, a literal fairy knight, charming attitude that sweeps the social circles in her direction, a terrifying talent for business, connections with the most influential trading and merchant company (especially backing the most influential heir of the company), the emperor’s interest, and even the grand duke of the east….
Mikhail has plenty to feel threatened by his mother-in-law since despite her contributions to the house, she still represents as the Emperor’s leash…. And her unpredictability makes her dangerous all the more with so many loyal to her.
Yeah, I think he might feel threatened. Even if he acts like a golden retriever puppy, I am pretty sure he is a type that has that as a front, but are actually really intelligent and analytical ppl.
With all the support she has garnered in a relatively short time and business ideas/ acumen she showed, as well as plotting the revenge like that. I am pretty sure he just wants peace for his dukedom and no vying for Grand duchhes from the outside
