This is so relevant to the world. Two sides of the same coin, hating each other for transgressions done from a past they didn't know. Continuing to breed hate and violence in a viscious cycle for generations to come. I love how this manga has a way of blurring the lines of what's "wrong" and what's "right". I'm an optimist by nature, so I'm thorougly looking forward to how all of this pans out.

Thanks for your question. "Two sides of the same coin" relating to race and politics (since its an election year). I'll preface this by saying that I'm a black female. I've dating white men who's mother's disapproved of me because of my color. Without seeing me, as a person. Because their parents raised them to believe black people weren't to be trusted, because that's the environment they grew up in. Politically, I've seen a lot of people make blanket statements, such as "all democrats are evil" or "all republicans are racist" though we all were born, in a womb, devoid of bias. We are all humans that came into this world the same way. But because of the environments we were raised in, we have these preconcieved notions (and that is a generalization. There are plenty of progressive people that don't bide into the teachings of their parents or environment) about a different race, a different political party. Because we grew up thinking those things. The Marylans grew up believing that the Eldians are devils. So can you blame them for their bias and contempt towards them? The Eldians on Paradis island approached every Marleyan warrior with anger and contempt because of transgressions done to them by a few Marylian warriors. Rightfully so. But it's a viscious cycle. The same viscious cycle that the world is facing because of bias and prejudice and hate.
