I get what you’re saying, but I’ve come to realise myself that this woke world, albeit whiny, has some great morals and are using whatever means to voice their concerns, which I also get. The world and what we see as normal is changing fast and consent is finally getting attention in romance literature. I’m actually enjoying the new reads that have this and when I reread an old favourite manga, I’m realising just how much it has progressed. So for new readers here, I can understand why they freak out in the comment section. ╮(￣▽￣)╭

its weird that rape is normalized in yaoi to the point that it should be "expected"
rape can be shown in fiction but its often unnecessary to the plot (if theres any) or theres little to no trigger warning

yaoi basically just means boys’ love, so reading yaoi doesn’t mean you’re expecting to read something with rape in it (unless it’s tagged as psychological). also, i agree with chubbub, i started reading bl a decade ago and it’s progressed so much since then. actually voicing concerns like how rape shouldn’t be romanticized reminds readers that this isn’t normal depiction of relationships. it might seem very repetitive, but i’ve seen people who actually think it’s okay etc and the concept of consent is finally being talked about so i think that’s good. please don’t equate yaoi = dubcon, rape, etc. we can get good yaoi and smut without those things (and i say this only for those yaoi where everything is normal and rape is presented as just another thing to move the plot; i’m ok with stories having it as long as it is properly handled or if it’s psychological manga, etc.)

Yaoi is "yamanashi, ochinashi, iminashi ="no climax, no point, no meaning"... Basically referring to those dj stories with senseless plots that focuses heavily on sex.. and well, the term Yaoi isn't really used that much on japan. They mostly refer to any male-male stories as "bi-eru(BL)"
But yeah, even tho it should be expected that in those with Yaoi tags the character's would just shag each other for most of the chapters, rape shouldn't be ok.
Most readers understood that, but what of those kids who came here without any proper guidance in their real.lives?
Many of us has formed the basic morals/values at early teens, but keep.in mind that not all are like that since all of us has different circumstances. If they are being neglected on their education on real life, the least we could do here is remind them that it's not okay, in case they don't know.

Especially when we expect that everyone understood that tide pods shouldn't be eaten but we still heard news that there are adults who tried doing so....well, you never know what dumb things some people could do...
