Authors love to introduce a very likeable SML character just to force him to be bad bc "you can't defy your nature" just so that the ML is the only choice left for FL. Why not make the ML shine on his own instead of ruining SML or better yet, make SML the ML and let him grow beyond what he was born as. ML is bland as fuck, the Dad literally carries this story bc what is that
