I mean c'mon, how much of the story would be really be affected if the age gap was smaller??? If they wanted to write about the childhood years, make Levi the same age. Or vice versa.
I can't fathom the purpose of the MASSIVE age gap other than for nefarious reasons. It would literally make the plot better too if they were closer in age (ie both teens). The horrible treatment of the prince would be because of a decade of assassinations rather than one year(in current chapters, he literally looks the same age he was when his mother died help. That means all that happened in like a year -).
People find this tolerable because of the story but tbh, I find it a great shame that such skill is wasted on an author obsessed with making their characters incredibly underaged and shoving them in romantic scenarios. I'm not going to hassle with the people who enjoy this as it obviously has a very good plot/concept so understandable, have a good day but my god. I hope you see why this has been a legitimate disappointment for me.
Real, like age gap is okay if there is no bad stuff, mushy happening when they are underage. But it would definitely be much better if the age gap was smaller. Like magician could be 14 and prince 11, so both of them would still be dumb kids, and plot would make so much more sense

This manga is interestingly written in the style the MC would've written lmao slow paced, seemingly unrequited love, set in modern day (I assume since the MC bases it off his real life, it's all modern day)

An inferiority complex isn't going to disappear like that just cuz he's dating.
He's human and the first thought he had was to run away because he was scared. We all had those thoughts right? For me personally, I know the feeling of not wanting to disappoint your loved ones and I can tell the MC also feels that way.

The MC is too childish for my taste, not to mention their relationship progressed far too fast. I fear if I blinked again, they'd marry... Not to mention both the MC and ML had the barest amount of characterization.
On a different note, this is my first time seeing someone actually identify as polyamorous. Unfortunately, the ML doesn't communicate this before hooking up with the MC. Big no-no. He just casually drops it after they start messing around. The matter also gets dropped just as quickly as it arrived.
Overall, it feels like the author clearly made the manga with the intention of fulfilling certain fetishes
