Wasn't he a crazy murderer that was about to kill her in the woods when they first met? And right after waking up from his coma he felt obligated to her body. They've implied the whole time he'd get his memories back. Even if he became nice now, that doesn't change the trail of victims he left behind. It's really easy for women to fall into abusive relationships under the mindset "well, he's never hurt me, so...." Even if he stayed sweet on her, if morals matter, it shouldn't be fine either way.
