Hm this is just mid? It feels like I’m reading the summary of a good story, rather than actually reading one. Because I do like the premise and the idea of the story itself, certain story beats this manhwa nails. Others, it does not. Most of it just feels very rushed, and it’s hard to become attached to the characters. The art is gorgeous, but simply put, the execution is quite lacking. So many little things get glossed over and it makes it so that don’t feel real in a sense. All of the villains are one dimensional and get taken care of at the drop of a hat, save for the FL’s brother. The stakes don’t feel that serious because you know that the FL will win anyway. This is sadly a generic, vanilla read. Good if you want something to turn your brain off for though

i love this but the romantic chemistry is barely there… maybe the novel is better
didn’t know manhwa could have storytelling this masterful tbh… the way the art is used to contribute to the narrative I LOVE IT. plus it’s so aesthetically pleasing… anyway, i was reluctant to read this story because the premise is kind of outlandish, but i grew to like it due to the raw portrayal of emotions and angst and the subtlety in the storytelling. even the ending is so PEAK with the panels with no dialogue, showing the reader how the characters grasp the situation and the main couple's relationship, without explicitly telling the reader what the characters are thinking. Just makes them feel so much more real. you can really tell much love went into this adaption with the writers/artist paying special attention to the lighting and composition to all the panels. still feels pretty exaggerated and it’s not the most realistic, but the execution is great. the writing and the art combined tell such an immersive, attractive, and thrilling story with excellent pacing imo
6 years ago this was peak, revolutionary even… Now it doesn’t stand the edge of time. It’s honestly pretty mid. I’m not sure why so many people were obsessed with it back then? This may have just been a lot of people’s first BL. The premise is relatively interesting, I’ll give it that. The art is also good, and you can see improve especially in the side stories. The story and plot itself is quite predictable and hits a lot of familiar story beats. There is an arc tho (?) At least, for the ML, Jiwon. He’s actually not that big of a jerk at the start, despite him acting very irrational, immature, and impulsive at the start. But a lot of that seems to magically go away when he falls in love with the MC. Honestly this is just decent. It’s an alright read, nothing special.
i mean taste is extremely subjective, and some parts of it is predictable. But some people (like me) love these types of stories that have this certain pattern of seme doing (a variety of) bad stuff to the uke and the uke gets developement then wakes up and leaves him in order for the seme to have his own character developement then goes back to uke, a new person, and they end up together. That type of story seems simple but it really captures the heart of a lot of people, the drama, the tension, it tugs on your heartstrings.
yeah i get why people like that aspect of this. but even that is not really that well written lol. it’s better than some other BLs tho where the ML doesn’t get a redemption arc at all
if i wanted a good yearning ML, i would just read beyond the memory or something like that

yess idk if u like omegaverse but i found “beyond memories” to be SO good and u rly see the ML grovel and suffer the consequences of his actions of hurting the uke

putting my thoughts so far here bc why not: Wow this is honestly miles better than the prequel. I really love the relationship conflict, and how the author doesn’t portray the relationship being yk magically absolved of pre-existing problems? Like the MC has an inferiority complex, communication issues, among other sources of trauma. Yohan is possessive, and… idk what else tbh lol. Ig they’re both insecure too. Anyway, I like the realistic touch this has with both leads navigating life and a homosexual relationship in modern society.
