I’m not sure if I rushed it while reading it but season one just seemed somewhat of a mess. I think the creator noticed that during the second season with the getting to know each other part but in season one it went by so fast and then multiple smut scenes without actually anything. Season two on the other hand shows much more emotions in the both of them and how they love each other now.

If you read the mythology you can tell the author took a lot of the stuff in it and put her own twist like the trial in the water is based on the mythology where both Seth and Horus became hippos and tried to hold their breaths. Also I don't think he actually gave birth to a child but basically Horus' eye was reborn which Seth had gouged out earlier, it must have been a great shame for him since that meant EVERYONE knew Horus had dominance over him.
