i'm rereading the whole thing again and this is the first time i notice that one of the black sea "people" actually went INTO the island when manieri almost died in chapter 12. so if it managed to possess someone, there'd be 3 people of the sea in the island rn that we know of. i wonder if the author's gonna do something with it or if it was just to show that the black sea could go into the island with no kannagi

the 2nd couple is very interesting but the author can't do panelling and storytelling to save their lives. you can never tell what's happening to them bcs there are backstories all over the place, sometimes with no indicators that tell you it IS a backstory (no black background. or worse, using the black background even in the current events lmao). the narrative keeps changing and you just can't tell wtf is happening and how are the events moving chronologically just a mess. i say this as someone who prefers them over the 1st couple bcs i love messy relationships.
