It's just so sad that the person he thought was the only one that gives him happiness and comfort is a manipulative asshole. Personally I dont get how someone can make one person the center of their world, however, given his circumstance where he has no one to rely on, I can't blame him for that.
Also the part where he is finding happy memories in his mind during this hard moments and being unable to remember it is so real
