People hate Lucio too much but he really isn't a bad person. Except for making Patrizia queen because she's infertile, everything else was Rosemond's doing. Petronilla was executed because of Rosemond and Lucio didn't even know she did it until evidence proved otherwise. He's a great emperor despite his emotional disposition. Unless you read the novel, you probably won't be able to realize that.

Also let me point out that Lucio in the previous timeline was an affection-craving fool but in this timeline, he is more self-aware and in denial because he knows Rosemond doesn't love him. Although he didn't show it at the beginning, he was actually having doubts about her. This is because Rosemond also has memories of the past and her self-awareness of her past mistakes altered her personality. I'm quite sure she truly loved Lucio despite manipulating him in the past timeline but in the present, she's so focused on becoming queen that it became her downfall in the end.

(LUCIO)
The previous emperor (Lucio's father) was married to Alisa, the daughter of the most powerful Duke in the kingdom. But Alisa was infertile and at the same time the emperor's concubine, Janet, gave birth to an heir. As a queen who could not give birth, Alisa was basically useless so she decides to take Janet's son as her own. But the truth was that she just wanted to fuse her jealousy and abuse the kid; physically, emotionally, and sometimes sexually as well. Lucio grew up believing Alisa was his mother and didn't understand why she treated him like that. Days before his birthday, Alisa called Lucio to the courtyard telling him she had a gift for him (Lucio never once celebrated his birthday so he was excited). When Lucio arrived, Alisa threatened him to kill a person hidden underneath a white veil. He refused but then she began to beat him up until he gave in. With a sword she gave him, he stabbed the person under the veil multiple times. Alisa, laughing crazily, then reveals that she wasn't his real mother and that the person Lucio killed was Janet, his biological mother. At that time the emperor was away from the palace so when he came back, Alisa was dethroned from her status as queen and Lucio was never the same again.

Rosemond is the daughter of a prostitute and a Baron. When she was 10, her biological mother was killed by the Baroness then the Baron took her in. She was treated like a maid and abused in the estate. At one point, her half-brother began to see her as a woman and so he raped her. Rosemond wanted to become queen in order to not only destroy the Baron's household but to also eliminate anyone who judged her for her commoner background. That's when Rosemond decided to "coincidentally" meet the emperor and share her painful story with him. Because of that, Lucio sympathized with her, and her plot to becoming queen began.

(DUKE EPHRENY)

Duchess Ephreny was the daughter of a Marquis and Duke Ephreny was the son of a Baron. When they were younger, he seduced her, spiked her drink, and raped her. When she became pregnant, she decided to marry him because she had no memories of the rape and was convinced she loved him. Keep in mind though, that Duchess Ephreny is a blood descendent of the Ephrenys so she has a general claim of all rights and wealth while her husband is only powerful because of his wife's last name. Soon after the Duchess bore a son and her husband went from Marquis to Duke. The reason he was able to gain such a high title was because he manipulated the previous empress Alisa. Because of him, Alisa began to hate Janet (Lucio's biological mother) which ultimately lead to her forcing Lucio to kill his own mother. Rosemond knows about this because of her past memories, so she uses it to blackmail Duke Ephreny.

There are 3 pillars in the kingdom. The chancellor of the three was the Dukedom of Oswins (empress Alisa's house). But because Ephreny manipulated the previous empress Alisa into committing treason, Duke Oswins secluded himself. This gave way for the Dukedom of Ephreny to climb to the top. Thus, Rose being adopted makes her a high-status woman of the empire, second only to Patrizia. Rosemond's plan is to become Princess of Ephreny, announce that Patrizia is infertile, and work to becoming queen dowager. She basically plans to become a widowed queen where she gets rid of Lucio after bearing his child in order to gain an immediate legal claim of the throne, through giving birth to the heir.

Patrizia and Lucio grow increasingly close especially when she sees Lucio hurting himself due to a psychological attack in the next chapter of the manhwa (chapter 48). They also keep coincidentally seeing each other in the garden at night, which is also where Lucio tells Patrizia about his past. This all happens while Rosemond went away to her parent's house so when she came back Lucio began to reject her because he started to side with Patrizia. Everyone who knew about his past would avoid or judge him, but Patrizia pitied him and didn't understand why he was so used to pain. He then falls for her kind and genuine personality as well as her capabilities as queen.

On the evening of the Nation's Founding, Rosemond is officially adopted as Duke Ephreny's daughter. Lucio and Patrizia are both close but awkward with each other, mainly because Lucio is starting to subtly act on his feelings by always being around Patrizia and constantly asking if she's tired or not (yes he's really falling in love with her and infinitely dumping that bimbo) but Patrizia doesn't know how to react to him. But while she's alone, Rosemond appears and suddenly talks about rumors of how Patrizia hadn't slept with Lucio yet. She then asks why Patrizia isn't pregnant yet and claims Patrizia could be infertile which makes Patrizia incredibly furious because infertility is a great taboo (see what happened to late empress Alisa) among the public. And with their culture (especially considering she's the queen) it defines her dignity as a woman as well. Patrizia slaps Rosemond a couple of times out of anger after she proposes they both have a fertility test to find out the truth. After the fight, Lucio pulls Rosemond away to talk. They argue and break up after Rose admits she was only making use of his trauma and that Patrizia would never love a man who killed his own mother.

Because of Rosemond's scandalous actions, the Council decides to have the fertility test but Patrizia refuses to take it. Lucio keeps desperately urging her to, but Patrizia doesn't listen because she was positive she isn't sterile. That's when she realizes why Lucio was acting strangely desperate. She connects the dots and finds out about Lucio's plan with Rosemond of getting a queen who couldn't give birth. Patrizia feels devastated and betrayed while asking him "How are you any different from empress Alisa?!" then leaves him alone. After returning to her palace, she orders her maids to find a perfume called stereen (?) and gift it to Rosemond. When Rosemond received it, she started using it a lot, thinking it was Patrizia's way of licking her shoes for mercy.

One evening, Rosemond enters Lucio's bedroom and makes Lucio drink an aphrodisiac in order to force him to sleep with her. At this point, Lucio is completely in love with Patrizia even though she absolutely hates him. So he leaves the room to restrain himself because Rosemond wasn't going to leave. By coincidence, he meets Patrizia outside. Seeing his state, Patrizia suggested he slept with Rosemond/maid/any woman in the palace but he didn't want to. So Patrizia decides to help him and they have their first night together.

Petronilla actually has memories of the previous timeline. Patrizia finds this out during Lucio's birthday banquet. Rosemond had changed the traditional birthday flowers to sage - empress Alisa's favorite flowers that by the scent and appearance, could give Lucio severe psychological attacks because of his PTSD. But Petronilla was able to change the flowers to amaryllis and exposes her past memories to Patrizia. Because of that, Patrizia finds confidence in finding a way to kill Rosemond. She was depressed knowing her efforts were wasted because she's infertile, but it became her strength because she realized that she finally had nothing else to lose.

Petronilla has an important role in helping Patrizia expose Rosemond. Because of her, the truth about January (Duke Ephreny's mistress) conspiring with Rosemond will be revealed. In the end, she manages to steal the letters Rosemond sent to January in order to provide them as evidence in court.

Patrizia is confused with her feelings after sleeping with Lucio, so she goes to her parent's home for a visit. On her way back to the palace, she's ambushed by assassins. Patrizia had purposely exposed the fact that she was leaving for her parents' home so she already expected the assassination to happen. And according to the plan, Patrizia has the royal guards save her while she purposely slices her arms and legs with a knife for better effect and to cause an uproar among the people about someone trying to harm the queen. When she returns to the palace, Lucio says it was Rosemond's plan because he heard her talking about the assassination with her maid. Rosemond is again sentenced to execution and Lucio whole-heartedly agrees with it. She tries to get Duke Ephreny to save her but Patrizia and Petronilla had compiled Rosemond's letters to January and sent them to Duchess Ephreny.

The Duchess's son with the Duke had died because of the illness so the Duchess was mentally unstable. And after returning to the empire and reading through the letters about her husband raping her, she kicks January and the Duke out of the mansion. So Rosemond then has no one to save her from execution. Days before her death, Patrizia confronts Rosemond about what she did to Duke Ephreny, January, and basically all her crimes. Rosemond claims she would survive because apparently, she was pregnant with Lucio's child. Patrizia then exposes that the perfume she gave Rosemond as a "gift" before had contained chemicals that could make her infertile. So Rosemond ultimately became infertile as well. After that, Rosemond is killed without delay.

Patrizia tells Lucio that she wants to step down from being queen. Lucio panics and begs her to stay. He always felt like he was alone in the palace but having Patrizia there made him feel like he wasn't (it was a very dramatic and emotional scene ngl. you could practically smell his mental state crumbling) In the end, Patrizia stays in the palace because (1) Lucio, as emperor, wouldn't let her, and (2) it wasn't that simple to just stop being queen.

In an effort to appease her, Lucio asks Petronilla about things Patrizia liked. Because Patrizia liked sweets/chocolate, Lucio asks the chef to teach him how to bake. He then keeps sending sweets to Patrizia that he baked on his own.

Petronilla tells Patrizia to stop staying in the past because her mission to save her family is complete. Petronilla admits that she did love Lucio (in the previous timeline) but it shouldn't stop Patrizia from loving him in the present because Lucio loved Patrizia and she wanted Patrizia to finally live happily. This is when Patrizia decides to accept her feelings for Lucio. Coincidentally that night, Lucio had another psychological attack. Patrizia goes into his room to comfort him and tell him she accepted his feelings. They slept together for the second time, but as lovers.

Anything after that is very fluffy husband-wife moments with Lucio still baking sweets for Patrizia from time to time. There's a scene during Patrizia's birthday banquet where she sees Lucio being seduced by a woman who wanted to be queen but he harshly rejects her. When he realized Patrizia saw him with the woman, he adorably tries to explain the situation frantically. They end up dancing on the balcony, having a steamy kiss, and also watching the fireworks together. Patrizia then, for the first time, tells Lucio that she loved him.

The last chapter of the original story is about Petronilla and Rothesay's wedding. Lucio and Patrizia are attending but in disguise. Other side stories after the main story are about (1) a coup de tat in the previous timeline after Petronilla died, (2) Rothesay's POV when he met Petronilla, and (3) Lucio and Patrizia's family life.

Patrizia and Lucio's family life is about Lucio being forced to choose a concubine in order to produce an heir because Patrizia was "infertile". Patrizia agreed to it but Lucio knew she was hurt and always cried a lot because the one thing she wanted was to have a child with the man she loved. Lucio promised she would be his one and only queen. When Patricia went to do charity, she met this old guy claiming he knew her and asked to see her later. During the concubine selection, Patrizia chose Lady Petunia among the candidates but she turns out to be another bitch that belongs to the street who openly insults Patrizia in front of everyone. Lucio then defends his wife and puts the bitch right where she belongs. Before Patrizia reselects another candidate, the old man from before arrived and exposed himself as the physician who conducted her health documents during the queen selection. Apparently, he heard Rosemond's plan in choosing the queen, so to save his daughter who was one of the candidates, he messed up Patrizia's fertility results.

Patrizia and Lucio then do the deed a lot of times (づ￣ ³￣)づ in order to make babies. Lucio joked about having 10 kids but Patrizia laughed saying it was impossible for her to give birth for 10 straight years. Lucio suggests they keep having twins to limit it to 5 years lol. One month later Patrizia is confirmed to be pregnant. Lucio kept feeding her berries and they kept being lovey-dovey.

Time skip 7 years later their first son Dylan wants to sleep with his mom. Lucio says you only sleep with someone you marry so Dylan says he wants to marry Patrizia. Lucio gets annoyed (cute) so Patrizia tells Dylan to sleep early and get tall because she likes tall people. Lucio has the AUDACITY to feel proud because he thinks he's pretty tall lmao. The three of them end up sleeping beside each other. Dylan then asks how babies were made and Lucio tells him if he wants a brother he should let him and Patrizia "hold hands alone". After that night Dylan keeps giving them time alone (⌒▽⌒)

Another time skip, Dylan has triplets as younger sisters; Regina, Ressie, and Raine. Lucio by this time is already in his 40s but Patrizia still describes her heart beating fast when she's with him despite them being together for 20 years already. Patrizia says none of the emperors throughout history have been as good to their queens as Lucio was to her. But maybe Dylan would break the record and Patrizia was really proud to have him as her son. Lucio also gets jealous since none of their children wanted to marry him, including his triplet daughters. All of them wanted to marry their mom.

The next night it's Patrizia's birthday and she's surprised with gifts. After opening them, the children tell Lucio and Patrizia to kiss. They kissed and lived happily ever after. The END

They teleport to a forest. Aria's still shocked and was thinking how many minutes has it happen.

They stay at a Viscount.

Next day there's news about Aria commit treason to the count by pushing him(which aint true)

Aria and asher tried to leave many evidence as possible.

Both of em go to a small village to treat as a vacation.

They go to Croa to meet lohan( White haired dude on the cover), While in Rocent's mansion Mielle created some witnesses for accusing Aria.

So a bit of fast forward to the Court. Mielle presented to the court about Aria's bracelet, but Aria showed that the bracelet's still at her wrist. Mielle's witnesses retracted their testimonies saying Mielle forced them to give false testimonies.

Aria go home to the mansion while mielle admitted to the hospital cuz she fainted.

So Mielle found guilty in the court and they sentence her to prison for 20 years.

The Count has woken up in his Coma and refused to see Mielle's face.

Mielle and Isis is fucked up.
Oscar betrayed his family and cooperate with the imperial family.

Frey told Isis about Aria's parentage and Asher told her about his power. So Isis learned it the hard way that she lose. They beheaded Isis, even though she was betrayed by his brother Oscar she was relieved that he is save but as a commoner.

Mielle became Aria's maid. The Count mansion is also on bankruptcy and Aria told Cain that her birthday is near. They go to the teacher's wedding and Mielle was the center of the attention, because of that Aria told her to go away.

Mielle planned to poison Aria, Aria expected it and switch the cups. The one who drank it was Cain and Mielle was too late so Cain dead now.

Mielle's about to beheaded. Aria told her about the past and such.

The Count commit suicide after knowing Mielle's death

Fast forward again.

Aria met her Paternal Family. She was confused about them since she didn't know about family love including her mother, so it felt weird for her

Shi Xiaonian (Nina) eventually gets over her mental barrier with the help of Gong Ou (Aubery) and she falls in love with him. She confesses to him and accepts being his lover, only with the condition that he must not make her a mistress. He agrees and they start dating. He announces to the whole world that she is his girlfriend. During this time, Mu Qianchu (Charles), seeing that he can't beat Gong Ou's destructing power, decides to give up and go abroad. But the plane he boards crashes and Shi Xiaonian is distraught. They can't even find the body. His family blames her for his death. She simply tries to forget him to get rid of her guilt. Meanwhile, they destroy Shi Di (Shi Xiaonian's adopted sister)'s career to get revenge for the time Shi Xiaonian was despised by everyone. Gong Ou's family objects to their relationship, since they plan to get him engaged to Mona Lancaster, the daughter of a European noble family. His mother, Luo Qi, comes from Britain to solve the problem. Shi Xiaonian tries to leave a good impression on her but Luo Qi refuses to accept Shi Xiaonian as her son's partner. She tells her that it's OK to be his lover, his mistress, but he will marry a noble woman worth their family's status no matter what. Shi Xiaonian firmly refuses to be his mistress and neither one of them is able to persuade the other. Later on, Shi Di tries to get revenge on Shi Xiaonian, cooperating with Gong Ou's mother to get her raped by several men. Shi Xiaonian is then kidnapped and beaten unconscious, and when she wakes up she finds her body showing signs of assault. Still, even though she was unconscious and doesn't have any memories of the time, remembering the sensation whenever Gong Ou forced himself on her, she feels that she was not raped, just beaten black and blue. Gong Ou comes to her rescue, only to find her in an extremely miserable state. On her face is written several words like "Gong Ou's woman is really delicious", and Gong Ou snaps right at that moment. Shi Xiaonian tries to tell him that she was not raped but is unable to convince him. He firmly believes that she was raped, and is incredibly furious. Shi Xiaonian desperately tries to prove her innocence but Gong Ou doesn't even let her explain, he refuses to believe her because she was unconscious at the time and it's not possible for her to clearly remember the events. He doesn't think Shi Xiaonian is lying, he thinks she only says what she wants to believe, she refuses to believe the truth. He tells her he will love her no matter what. He finds out that while it was the work of Shi Di, it was actually his mother who arranged the kidnapping. Luo Qi planned this, thinking that her son would leave Shi Xiaonian if he thought the woman was ruined. However, Gong Ou refuses to leave her even if she is dirty, and chases his mother away from his castle. Shi Xiaonian talks to Luo Qi before she leaves to Britain, and learns that she really was not raped after all, for no matter how cruel Luo Qi was she couldn't bear to ruin a woman. If it was Shi Di who arranged the men, she definitely wouldn’t have mercy no matter what, but Luo Qi couldn't be so merciless. She simply designed the scene to make them think so. After Luo Qi leaves, Gong Ou takes revenge on Shi Xiaonian's adopted family. He sends them away to a faraway country to live the rest of their lives in poverty. A few weeks later Shi Xiaonian finds out that she is pregnant and is extremely happy at the news. She thinks Gong Ou would also be very happy, since that was what he wanted for so long. But when she tells him the news, he is very angry and upset. While she is surprised at his unexpected reaction, she finds out that Gong Ou still doesn't believe that she wasn't raped, and because the timing matches perfectly with the day of her kidnapping he thinks the child is not his but the rapists’. He tries to give her medicine to make her have abortion but Shi Xiaonian refuses to kill the child in her womb. She tries to persuade him once again that the child is his but Gong Ou still refuses to believe her. After a long period of fighting, she finds out that the reason Gong Ou tries to make her have abortion is because he believes that Shi Xiaonian will leave him when she gives to birth to another man's child. He doesn't want her to leave him no matter what so he insists on killing the child. Shi Xiaonian refuses and she eventually convinces Gong Ou to keep the child, though he still doesn't believe the child is his, but Shi Xiaonian doesn't mind since the truth would prevail once the child was born. Shi Xiaonian is very happy to finally have a family with the man she loves but she is worried about the future, she doesn't want her child to have a paranoid father. She wants them all to be happy. So she proposes Gong Ou to seek for treatment for his illness. She convinces him with sweet words and Gong Ou agrees to give it a try. They seek for a renowned psychiatrist to treat him, and the psychiatrist they find turns out to be none other than the intended fiancée of Gong Ou, Mona, who goes by another name in medical world. She acts so sweet and friendly and promises to help Gong Ou heal, convincing them of her earnestness. Thus, they begin the treatment with Mona. After a while, Shi Xiaonian finds out that Mona has been in love with Gong Ou for a long time so she feels anxious to have her by his side, since they spend so much time together for the treatment. She tells Gong Ou of her worries, who also found out about the feelings of Mona, but he appeases her and tells her not to worry since he would never cheat on her. Right when Shi Xiaonian was feeling bitter about the closeness between Gong Ou and Mona, Gong Ou proposes marriage to Shi Xiaonian. She is extremely delighted and accepts with joy, very happy that she could finally have a home. After that, Gong Ou receives an intel about something he asked his men to investigate, and starts to act strangely around Shi Xiaonian. Shi Xiaonian doesn't know the reason but simply feels weird about his change of heart. Then suddenly, Gong Ou wants to break up with Shi Xiaonian, much to her disbelief. She doesn't take his demand seriously and simply refuses to leave him. He keeps insisting on breaking up with ridiculous reasons and intimidates her when she refuses. Mona tells her that she was just an emotional pet to him, and he didn't really love her, he was simply obsessed with her because of his illness. Now, since he started to heal of his illness with her treatment, his obsession for her started to fade away. After a week of intimidation, Shi Xiaonian agrees to break up when she sees Gong Ou and Mona intimately close together, thinking that he really didn't love her anymore and she was just a tool he was obsessed with because of his illness. They sign a breakup contract just as they did when they first started living together, and Shi Xiaonian tells him angrily that he was right, she had lied all along, she remembered the events of that night clearly and she really was raped, and the child was not his. Gong Ou, who didn't believe her in the first place all this time, is simply bittersweet. Gong Ou says he wants to break up with her peacefully without any hard feelings but Shi Xiaonian refuses and tells him that she wants to break off all ties with him. He agrees without any choice. They hold a press conference telling everyone that they are breaking up peacefully. Thus Shi Xiaonian leaves him and moves to a small apartment on her own, her only companion MR Gong whom Gong Ou left with her. She has a very difficult time as an abandoned pregnant woman but tries to stay strong for the sake of her baby. Meanwhile, Gong Ou keeps tailing her without her knowledge, and plants surveillance cameras in her apartment. He also has a difficult time and refuses to eat food cooked by people other than Shi Xiaonian. He sneaks in her apartment when she is out to steal some of the food she cooked from the fridge. Shi Xiaonian notices that the amount of food in her fridge decreased and contacts Gong Ou to threaten him that if he keeps sneaking in her apartment, she will call the cops to arrest him. He denies the accusement and Shi Xiaonian really calls the cops. They have an argument at the police station and Gong Ou leaves feeling depressed. He goes to the luxurious apartment at Port of Heaven where they had lived together in when they first signed the contract and he sees several comics drawn by Shi Xiaonian on the wall. The comics tell their story together and Shi Xiaonian's love for him, and eventually them breaking up, with Shi Xiaonian's heartbreak. It ends with a line of words from Shi Xiaonian: "What home were you talking about? Don't lie to me." Gong Ou is distraught at the sight and feels extremely bitter. On the other side, Shi Xiaonian goes for a checkup on her baby's condition and she learns that she has twins. She doesn't know whether to be happy or sad, as she is happy to have twins but bitter at the thought that she can't even share the joyful news with the father of her children. In a daze, she goes to the apartment in Port of Heaven to celebrate the news that she has twins by herself. Meanwhile, Gong Ou is still inside the apartment and lying on the bed, starving because he didn't eat anything for a long time. Shi Xiaonian comes to the apartment and draws another comic depicting her checkup on the hospital that day on the wall before she cooks a feast for herself to celebrate. When Gong Ou wakes up, he sees Shi Xiaonian and hides away to prevent her from discovering his presence. He watches her celebrating the joyful news by herself, though he doesn't know what joyous thing is there to celebrate. After eating by herself, having cooked too much for a single person to eat, Shi Xiaonian decides to feed the rest to the stray cats. Hearing her intention to throw away the food, Gong Ou calls her phone secretly to threaten her of arresting her because she stole his stuff when she was in the castle. Panicking at the thought that the police wouldn’t find her when they arrive at her house, she leaves the apartment in a haste leaving the dishes she cooked laying on the kitchen. Gong Ou stores the food in the fridge, planning to eat them bit by bit to prolong the time. After Shi Xiaonian leaves, she sees that there are no cops coming after her after all. The next day, she finds out that Gong Ou is secretly helping her by investing a huge amount of money for the drama adaptation of her comics. Suspicious, she returns to Port of Heaven only to find the food she left the previous day stored properly in the fridge and Gong Ou sleeping in the bedroom. She talks to Gong Ou after he wakes up and he is shocked to see her, immediately reprimanding her. She questions him for her suspicions but gives up when Gong Ou says he stored the food just to feed the stray cats. She tells him to feed the cats together much to his displeasure. They go out together to feed the cats as it rains outside and she asks him several questions, trying to find out if he still has feelings for her, only to hear that he doesn't love her anymore and he is developing a relationship with Mona. Mona appears in front of them and humiliates Shi Xiaonian, kissing Gong Ou in front of her. Shi Xiaonian leaves after bitterly giving them her blessings as she drenches in the rain. After returning home she gets sick with fever. With no one but MR Gong to take care of her, she is in a very pitiful state. At night, she hears sounds coming from outside her door. She feels very scared of thieves in darkness as there is also a power outage, with MR Gong also out of power. She calls for the ambulance and waits for them to arrive, she feels extremely sick as she keeps vomiting and feels her consciousness fading. Right then, Gong Ou, who learned of her situation as he was monitoring her apartment, arrives, and takes her to the hospital. He tells the hospital staff to tell Shi Xiaonian it was the ambulance that saved her. The doctors do as Gong Ou says and Shi Xiaonian believes them with no other choice. As she wonders in her mind about what happened the previous night, vaguely remembering Gong Ou coming to her rescue, she concludes that she was just having a hallucination. Meanwhile, Gong Ou regrets agitating her to the extent she would fall sick with fever like that, blaming Mona for appearing out of nowhere like that, wondering if the decision he made was the right one. He faces his contradictions, realizing that what he had done to protect Shi Xiaonian, to keep her safe was actually hurting her more, she wasn't safe when she was away from him at all with how she was currently sick. Mona talks him out of his thoughts but then Gong Ou realizes it was Mona who brainwashed him all along, making him think this decision was the right one. Agonizing over his mistake, he decides to take Shi Xiaonian back to his side to never leave her ever again, he takes his leave to the hospital. As he arrives at the hospital, mysterious men disguised as staffs come to the hospital ward of Shi Xiaonian and kidnap her. Gong Ou frantically searches for her when he finds out she is nowhere to be seen in her ward but to no avail. Shi Xiaonian is then taken to a faraway place where she learns she was kidnapped by Gong Ou's mother who learned of her pregnancy from Mona. Mona was beside them when Shi Xiaonian declared the child was not Gong Ou's in her moment of burst of emotions. Mona also thought the baby was the rapists’ but Luo Qi knew the truth better than her, as she was the who instigated the kidnapping. Shi Xiaonian wasn't really raped and she knew the child was actually her son's. Shi Xiaonian is taken to a secluded tower by seaside where she is to be confined till the babies are born, with a team of renowned gynecologists and capable servants to serve her. She is hopelessly trapped at that place, she feels despair as her only trace of hope, her children are to be taken from her when they are born to be raised in the noble Gong family as successors. Meanwhile, as Gong Ou desperately tries to find her, he suspects Mona of kidnapping Shi Xiaonian. He interrogates and tortures her endlessly but all Mona says is that she wasn’t the one who did it and she didn’t know where Shi Xiaonian was. Stubbornly believing it was Mona who kidnapped Shi Xiaonian, driven insane at the thought of her being dead, Gong Ou refuses to eat or drink till he finds Shi Xiaonian. At a moment of dreaming in a haze, he sees Shi Xiaonian reprimanding him for being so useless, telling him to quickly come to her rescue. Regaining his composure, with the help of several clues, he comes to a conclusion that she is taken by his mother as he notices that Shi Xiaonian was right, the child was his after all. He grieves over not trusting her all this time, only hurting her. He leaves for Britain and interrogates his mother for Shi Xiaonian’s whereabouts but Luo Qi refuses to admit to kidnapping Shi Xiaonian. He doesn't believe her lies and keeps on urging for her to tell, threatening her with taking his own life. Luo Qi comes to an agreement that she would tell her whereabouts only if he agreed to marrying Mona and making Shi Xiaonian his mistress. Gong Ou refuses to accept such conditions but is desperate with no other choice. He eventually agrees, planning in his mind that he would find her once they showed their weakness. So, the engagement between him and Mona is planned to take place several months later. Meanwhile, Shi Xiaonian suffers indescribably as she waits for the day her children are born in grief, with no one to trust nor love. She hears the news of Gong Ou’s upcoming engagement from the staff who accompany her in the tower. Their only purpose is to humiliate and dishearten her further by letting her hear how great Gong Ou is, and how his N.E. is prospering even more so than ever. Initially, she was hoping Gong Ou would come to her rescue one day, saving her from her endless agony, but eventually she could only lose all her faith as she heard of his news, how he never cared for her whereabouts. Her love and affection towards him turns into intense hatred, pure resentment and grief. She pours all the negative emotions she feels in her confinement to hatred for him, also experiencing severe pain from her pregnancy all along. She would carve down with her nails on the head of her bed, on the woods, how much she hated Gong Ou for making her into this state. She also drew a picture book depicting her days of pregnancy without all the painful details, only the funny and blissful parts, for her children, and entrusted it to the butler who took care of her to give it to her children once they grew up, hoping they wouldn’t resent their pitiful mother so much for leaving them. One day, she meets a doctor on her usual checkups who tells her he will save her from that place, however she refuses to trust him. He only tells her that he is from her biological family, and he will save her. She is shocked to hear of her biological family but she still chooses to be wary. As the due date of birth comes closer, a week before, she hears the servants talking of the engagement oath ceremony of Gong Ou that will take place that day, and how joyous everyone in the Gong family was. Feeling very bitter at the news, agitated, she feels pain and gives birth a week earlier than the due date. Her birth is a very painful one, as she screams nonstop but no one cares. She could vaguely see a man helping her as she was lost in pain, and that man was none other than Mu Qianchu who was supposed to be dead on a plane crash. He tells her he will save her from that place along with her children, only if she trusts in him and promises never to be afflicted with Gong Ou ever again. Feeling that he is the only person she can trust, Shi Xiaonian agrees without hesitation. After she gives birth to her children, a girl and a boy, she falls unconscious. Then a huge clash happened at the tower as all the bodyguards, servants and doctors fall one by one. She is taken away by Mu Qianchu along with her child, as Mu Qianchu’s men infiltrate the whole place. Meanwhile, Gong Ou, who was proceeding with his plan to find Shi Xiaonian once the oath was over, finds the tower where Shi Xiaonian was confined only to see a scene of bloodbath. After being beaten, he recovers in the hospital for months. Meanwhile, when Shi Xiaonian comes to her senses after giving birth, she finds out about her biological family, the Xi family. It turns out that her biological family didn’t even know of her existence all this time. Apparently, in Italy her father ran a shady business where women of the family weren’t allowed to intervene, and her mother had to hide in China for a while during the time of her birth and she wasn’t aware that she was pregnant with twins. • About Judith, Judith is the REAL JUDITH. There was never a novel, to begin with. She never read a novel about Luca's life; she simply remembered Luca's memories from his past life. • The duke also knew about the goblet and the wish. He patted Luca and said about being proud or something to how Luca wished everyone's happiness.
• Back to Luca again (lol), he is not the true heir of the Winterwald household. Why? Because Jonas is not the duke's son. Venessa, one of the former king's daughters, married the duke to get away from her father. She slept around and got pregnant, she doesn't know who the father was. • The reason why Sophie paid more attention to Jonas was because he's the son of Vennesa. It is said that she doesn't love Jonas, more like a substitute for Venessa. She's very loyal to Venessa hence why she wants Jonas to become the successor of the Duke. She really loves Venessa, she still smile everytime she talks and thinks about Venessa.
• In the first timeline, Sophie died because of the anxiety when she heard about the death of Rudy. The reason why the Duke took care of Jonas, more than his own son, was because he felt guilty for Venessa ( after her death) and he felt like he didn't do anything on his side of his bargain. To begin with, the Duke doesn't care who will be the next to succeed him. Jonas was just greedy and has a nasty attitude, especially to Sophie (duke's love one). Judith is feeling unsure about what the duke and Sophie felt with Rudy, and hoped that they will reveal their genuine feelings to Rudy.
• Judith and Rudy will get married and they will have a daughter.
• To begin with, the former king really dislikes Rudy for Judith. The former king loves Judith. Favoritism since Judith looks like his sister and she has the same purple eyes as his sister and his daughter, Vennesa. That's also one of the reason why Sophie like Judith. Because Venessa told her to be kind to people who have purple eyes since maybe they are having a difficult time of their life.
• The former king always separate Judith and Rudy. He doesn't let Judith get outside of the palace. That's why she went out (with permission and excuse by accompanying Luca) to talk to Rudy. But the next one will be Rudy coming to the palace in commoner's disguise and some ball in announcing the existence of Judith.

So what we know and what the transmigrated ancia from the other world knows is that Richard and Diana are the main characters of the book and Blake is basically the 2nd male lead that diana saves. But actually it's more than that. Blake, Ancia, and Richard are the reincarnated versions of Rakshul (blake), Laontel (Ancia), and Philip (Richard).

In the past, Laontel and the goddess of light, Serphania were best friends. Laontel was in a relationship with Rakshul, the crown prince of the Zelcan empire. Serphania fell in love with Philip who is human. Serphania gifted Laontel the blessing of light (a necklace) as a token of their friendship. Now Serphania being the dumb bitch that she is decided to give Philip the power of light because she loves him and Philip "promised" to give it back when she wants it back. Laontel is obviously worried and decides to talk to Philip but Philip tattles about it to Serphania and said that they should not get married at all. Serphania becomes angry at Laontel then she says they're no longer friends. When Serphania gives Philip the power of light, Philip betrays Serphania. He actually loves Laontel from the start and makes this plague that kills Rakshul along with many people. Once the emperor's seat was vacant because they all died from the plague, Philip somehow appears and "saves" everyone from the plague using the power of light. Philip was then crowned as the new emperor and change the empire's name from Zelcan to Asteric. Philip wants Laontel to be his empress but she refuses. Laontel goes to Serphania and gives her the blessing of light which Serphania gave her. Serphania used it to fight Philip but she loses and was sealed into the Valley of chaos but before she was selaed she gave Laontel some of her powers. Philip changes history by making new stone tablets that states Rakshul as the bad guy and him as the good guy. Laontel decides to protect history by using the powers Serphania gave her to seal the stone tablets with the correct history. Philip tried to destroy them but failed and instead sealed them in a room in a separate palace.

Serphania used her remaining powers to write words into the offsprings of Philip and his many wives. Basically, those writings are the curses that states that she was betrayed by Philip and she is trapped in the valley of chaos. Philip sees this and at first tries to override the curse but it only made the writings unreadable he then proceeds to kill his children. Everytime, the writings appear on his children they are instantly killed. Laontel made stone tablets about the death of the princes using the last of her powers. She sealed them to protect the contents from Philip. Laontel tried to convince Philip for the last time to break Serphania's seal but he refuses and then she dies in Philip's arms.

Blake and Tensetheon are descendants of Philip. That is the reason why Blake has the curse. Ancia is the true bearer of the power of light and not her sister, Diana. It was only passed to Diana because Ancia in the original story drowned. Ancia died on the lake because she was attracted to the stone tablet hidden at the bottom of the lake which Laontel made before she died. The valley of chaos is where Serphania is sealed. The emperors always go to the valley of chaos every 3 (?) Months to strengthen the seal to not let Serphania out. They do this because that is what Philip commanded to his descendants, they did not know the goddess of light was sealed there.

Ancia discovered the stone tablets sealed in the separate palace and proceeds to discover about the truth. She tries to cure Blake's curse and at first it works. However, it came back and the valley of chaos "needs" to be sealed again. Ancia goes to the valley of chaos and is trapped there for 7 (?) Years. There time slows down. Ancia then talked to Serphania and you know what?? THE BITCH SERPHANIA WAS ANGRY AT HER. SHE WAS ANGRY BECAUSE ANCIA WAS LATE AND SHE SUFFERED THERE FOR A LONG TIME. THE AUDACITY OF THIS BITCH LIKE IT'S NOT HER DAMN FAULT IN THE FIRST PLACE.

So because Serphania was angry she told Ancia that she will kill all of Philip's descendants, which means Tensetheon and Blake will die. Of course Ancia refuses and says to kill her instead. SERPHANIA AGAIN WITH THE BULLSHIT LET'S ANCIA LIVE BUT IN HER OLD BODY. So basically, Ancia is in Serphania's body with a face half burnt and a body that has many scars. She also can't talk, read, or write. Serphania made it so that she won't tell anybody anything. Ancia met Blake who is 7 (?) Years older and Blake was really kind to her. Ancia's name was changed in to Rose. The catch of meeting with Blake is that she will die in 6 months. Blake spent time with Rose (Ancia) and basically sees the real Ancia in her. Rose cannot tell him the truth no matter what she does. THE BITCH SERPHANIA SHOWS UP IN THE BODY OF THE REAL ANCIA AND FOOLED EVERYONE INTO THINKING THAT SHE'S BACK AND SHE LOST ALL HER MEMORIES. Everyone thought she died and almost everyone stopped searching for her except for Blake. Blake, however, did not believe her and was still kind to Rose. Blake was sure that Rose was Ancia then they kiss. Serphania talks to Rose and basically tries to kill her. Blake saw this and Serphania told him to either kill himself or Ancia dies. Blake chose to drink the poison and kill himself than to let Ancia die. Once he drinks it Serphania apologizes to Ancia and brought everything back to normal. Blake did not die and Ancia was in her old body again. Ancia forgave Serphania and Blake also asked for forgiveness for his ancestors. Blake and Ancia live, love, laugh for the remaining of the story.

With Richard (the reincarnated philip) he tried to steal ancia from blake but he failed and their dukedome also falls in the story. When Ancia was trapped in the Valley of chaos he tried to act like a good person but he's still rotten inside. He's the one who brought the fake Ancia (Serphania) to the castle. FL is the reincarnation of the goddess of lights best friend, who was a female wizard and loved the goddess like a sister. The female wizard was in love with the crown prince, who the ML is the reincarnation of. So their love literally travelled through the years.

NOW THE DUMB BITCH GODDESS was in love with the crown princes brother, who the black haired dick is the reincarnation of. He literally never loved the goddess but wanted her power and was using her AND THE GODDESS KNEW THAT. The black haired prince was in love with the female wizard and was pissed at the crown prince for having her love EVEN THOUGH he already had the goddess.

He decided to be like “oh goddess I love you so much but you aren’t human. Give me ALL your powers, and then you will be a human and we will live happily ever after” The goddess tells her wizard best friend that she’s gonna hand over ALL her powers to the black haired guy and the best friend was like WTF NO THATS A BAD IDEA why don’t you just give him some, then you can always return to being a goddess.

You know what the goddess responded with “YOU HATE THE FACT THAT IM IN LOVE AND WANT TO TAKE BLACK HAIRED GUY FROM ME” like bitch WHAT. So then she literally said the female wizard was a jealous bitch and ran away. But female wizard was a good friend and decided to go to black haired prince and be like “can you please not take all her powers it will hurt her” and he ran and told the goddess, and the goddess FLIPPED HER SHIT AGAIN cussing out the wizard friend about how terrible she is.

Case and point the goddess gives ALL HER POWERS to the black haired prince, and he locks her ass up in a prison cell and says “I never loved you I just wanted power so I could take over the kingdom” AND THE GODDESS IS STILL LIKE “but I love himmmmmm”. So while this is happening wizard friend and the crown prince are living happy and about to get married WHEN ALL OF A SUDDEN a huge ass devastating plague starts killing basically the whole empire. The wizard and the crown prince try their hardest to stop it, but her light powers aren’t enough to fight the disease. They try to save people but the crown prince ends up dying from the disease and the wizard is heart broken.

Soon the plague is miraculously stopped by the new crown prince, the wizard finds out that the black haired prince used the goddess’s powers to make A PLAGUE so that he could kill off the crown prince and his people and then pretend to be the saviour. The wizard is like HOW CAN U DO THIS, and evil crown prince is like “I did this for you, now I have power, I have the throne, and your fiancé’s dead you will be my empress” and she’s like wtf what about the goddess and evil crown prince is like “that dumb bitch only had powers, she’s ugly compared to you, now she’s weak and stupid I’m just waiting for her to die”

Evil crown prince has been trying to kill off the goddess for years, he literally set her on fire, whipped her, stabbed her in the stomach, beat her, and the bitch literally wouldn’t die because even without powers she’s still had the body of a goddess. Unfortunately the wounds never heal so the goddess looks like some grotesque monster now. Wizard catches the New crown prince destroying any information of the old crown prince and making it seem like old crown prince was the reason behind the plague which is a fucking lie. So wizard woman casts a protection spell on the last tomb that the crown prince is trying to destroy so there is Atleast some evidence of the truth.

She then tries to find the light goddess, and she does and she looks terrible, and the light goddess is like give me your light power so I can return to the gods place. AND THE WIZARD DOES GIVE UP HER POWER BECAUSE SHE LOVES HER BEST FRIEND, even though this bitch literally caused the death of her fiancé.

The goddess runs away and evil crown prince finds the wizard and locks her up, he wants her to be his empress and she refuses. He marries as shit ton of wives, and the wives are mad they won’t be empress and beat up and torture the wizard for years and crown prince now EMPEROR let’s it happen thinking she will finally break and marry him. Wizard thinks the goddess got away, well nope the emperor hunted the bitch down and seal her in the demon door place lighting her on fire for all of eternity until someone with light magic gets her out. So that’s when the goddess curse started, the goddess used what she could too write where she is and what happened on the emperors oldest child’s skin. It wasn’t painful or anything but it literally showed that he started the plague. Well the bitch wrote it in an old language that no one but the emperor and the wizard remembered. So the emperor literally just killed off every kid that got the words on them. he went through eight kids and the 9th kids mom (he had like 16 kids) went to the wizard (who she had beaten up before) ans begged her to ask the emperor to not kill her kid. The witch decided to help cause she’s genuinly a nice person

That’s where she realizes what the words on the kid said, and told the emperor to stop killing his kids and just tell the truth. Which gave the emperor and idea to Curse the kids, he used all of the goddess power to rewrite the curse into what it is today so instead of saying his misdeeds it turned into some mumbo jumbo about him being great and the goddess cursing this child that sinned the world. Which is where all the pain came from, that’s why the children with the curse suffer now because the emperor made it a real curse, this killed the 9th child and the 10th child now got the nee curse and would suffer until death on a far away island.

With using all the goddesses magic to change the curse it caused a backlash that hurt the wizards arleady fucked up body and sent her to her death bed. The emperor was all “I love you don’t die” and the wizard took off her necklace and asked the emperor to give it to her family. This is because the necklace could be used to open the door to the goddess to save her, but the emperor didn’t know that and actually gave it to the family which is why for years the decendents with light magic tried to free the goddess but the door got shut by the emperors descendants

NOW WE KNOW WHO THE FEMALE LEAD IS, and how the goddess and the evil emperor FUCKED HER OVER. FL literally finally finds the goddess after remembering her past life, and the goddess is all chained up and burning. She frees her and the goddess actually GOT MAD AT FL “why did you take so long to free me, you were supposed to rescue me, you aren’t my friend, you took to long” and FL just apologizes EVEN THOUGH ITS NOT HER FAULT. The goddess is all “this is because you fell in love with crown prince again hun, always leaving me for him” which is our silver haired ML. And the goddess then says “well we are going to kill the crown prince and his family to get revenge for me” and FL is like NO THE FUCK THEY DIDNT DO ANYTHING TO YOU “and the goddess is like, if you don’t help me I’ll kill you” and FL is like “kill me then just don’t hurt ML”

You know what the goddess does, SHE FUCKING KILLS HER. LITERALLT ATTACKED HER WITH MAGIC THAT LEAVES HER ON THE BRINK OF DEATH. Then the dumb bitch goddess is like “oh no I almost killed my friend” and decided to SWITCH BODIES with the dying FL because that’s the only way to keep FLs body alive after the attack. Now FL is stuck in this ugly ass, scarred up, burnt up, mutilated body of the goddess and is finally casted outside of the demon doors which disappeared since the goddess is free.

Oh and LIKE 3-6 (can’t remember how many) YEARS HAVE PASSED AND OUR RABBIT CROWN PRINCE IS 18. Female lead has been missing for years. Her body gets found by where the demon doors used to be, but she’s in the goddess’s fucked up body so no one recognizes her, she also can’t fucking talk either because the goddess screamed so much in pain for 500 years that her vocal cords are shut. So ML is very nice to FL in new body, even though everyone even her closest maids and friends treat her with disgust cause she’s ugly. She gets called a monster and genuinly suffers, the goddess comes to her and is like you’ll never be loved in that ugly body so kill the crown prince and I’ll give you your body back or you’ll die in 30 days. FL is like I don’t care if I die I’m not killing the crown prince. FL and ML get close despite how she looks cause their love transcends looks, and the ML is quickly realizing this is his love. The goddess gets pissed cause their love is real and not the fake love her had with evil emperor

So you know what BITCH GODDESS does, SHE COMES DOWN IN FL BODY AHHHHHHH. She pretends to be her and tries to steal the crown prince from the actual FL. Thankfully, the ML is not an idiot and didn’t believe the goddess for A SECOND he literally hated her. She tried to seduce him so much and he was just disgusted, and it made him realize the real FL was the scarred girl. The goddess has been working with black haired guy (evil emperors reincarnation) in order to basically repeat history. But ML confront the goddess and asks “if he died today would she finally forgive him causes he’s genuinly sorry for what she went through, and wants to end her suffering” dumbass goddess FINALLY realizes that FL AND ML are not the fucking problem, she and evil emperor CAUSED THIS WHOLE FUCKING MESS. She literally had so much hatred for the FL in both lives FOR NO REASON. So she gives him a potion that will return the FL body to the real one and makes him promise to take care of the FL or she will curse him again.

So FL who was dying because of the state of the goddess body gets the potion ans is put back into her healthy beautiful body and crown prince and her run to tell the emperor and the emperor is so happy. They all hug and it’s super nice, and the maids apologize to her for treating her bad while she was “ugly” but the ML KICKS THEM THE FUCK OUT. Anyone that was mean to her when she was ugly got thrown in jail or fired, it was hilarious. All these whores saying “we love the crown prince more than you” got called the fuck out by the crown prince cause he had THE RECEIPTS that they called him hideous when he had the curse

And then their life goes back to normal and that’s all I remember

1) The king is repulsed by intimate contact i. e the kind between a man and a woman. The previous queen drugged and raped him when he was 14 for getting heirs. He is disgusted by the seductive touch of a woman as it makes him remember his past trauma.

2) The king's parents were strict and ignored his presence in general. When the king was a child he was not showered love by his biological parents and dined alone. Thus he thought all the royal families behaved this way and since he dined alone too -- he saw nothing wrong with Blanche doing the same.

3) In a way he does care about Blanche's well being and is a bit of doting father. Despite his trauma he agreed to marry Abigail because he wanted to gather sufficient political power to make Blanche his heir to the throne. He doesn't want her to get married to some king of another country who would abuse her the same way the previous queen abused his younger self.

4) Verite is actually the prince of fairies or elves or smth who later marries Blanche after she grows up. Blanche becomes the queen of the country whereas Verite becomes her king consort and the king of the fairies.

5)Abhigail later grows very close to Blanche and ends up designing matching comfortable clothes for her and Blanche for a ball they need to attend. Since the clothes were very pretty and comfortable, the noble ladies were very much interested in them. Abigail later ends up mending her damaged reputation by promising to make clothes for them too.

Hi, everyone. I am a novel reader and I am going to provide spoilers for those of you who want them, so read this with discretion! (Also some from the novel spoilers thread because they can explain far better than me.) Also, English is not my first language so I’m very sorry for any spelling or grammar mistakes. This is going to be VERYYYYY long with A LOT of juicy spoilers!!!

Also, the main focus of this is not romance at all. The romance is kinda sorta near the end, not end end. It’s hard to explain but I will just say that this is mainly revenge focused.

First, the male lead:

The male lead is the crown prince. I initially had thought it would be the knight, but that knight is just a cute little addition who stays by her side! When they go to a masquerade ball, she reveals that she is not the real Veronica to him while they are in a carriage after he says that it is a “Knights duty to follow their master and it’s an honor that Elena chose him/me.”

This is the “relationship redemption” type. To be honest, the crown prince is one of my absolute favorite male leads. He is in the top 5. That is how much I adore him. And I do think you guys will adore him as much as I did while reading. Hopefully, these spoilers will satiate you!

The male lead, the crown prince. His name is Sian, or I guess “Claudius de Cyan” as they said in the manwha, In the first timeline, he had realized that Veronica was the fake and fell deeply in love with her. He wanted to protect her so he could not confess his feelings for her because if the nobles has noticed that he has any sort of affection for her, the grand Duke would use that opportunity for himself to gain support. The only reason why he said that their child, Ian, was a mistake is because Ian is male and could become an heir. He could not protect her, and not confessing his feelings to her became a useless thing. The Grand Duke had gained support.

Once the fake Veronica died (killed), he was so overcome with rage that he killed the real one and protected their baby. However, Sian still ended up being killed by the Grand Duke. The Grand Duke wanted to take revenge because Sian killed his daughter.

One of my favorite quotes from him, “ “Ian, your mother was the most beautiful and well-bred woman in the world. So let's remember her. Even though she lived as a shadow, she was a better queen than any other. Only you and I should not forget, Ian. Do you understand?"”

He died in vain. A horrible death. He tried to protect his beloved but he failed, and he tried to protect his child but he ended up being murdered.

Sian is a swordsmaster but he lived his life hiding his abilities due to the grand duke’s family, however in this timeline he changed his mind after listening to our FL and became an emperor/king dedicated to protecting his people.



Why they need a fake Veronica:

They needed a fake Veronica because the real one was poisoned and placed into a coma. The only way that it was going to be cured was to continue to let the coma run its course on her. Veronica was losing recognition in the social world so they quickly needed someone to take her place. That is why the cousin, Ren is very suspicious of her.

At first they needed to hide Veronica’s poisoning by having a substitute.
But Elena was a really good ‘fake Veronica’, even better than the original one, so they just decided to force her to work hard and build a good reputation for Veronica before her return.
Since Elena was simply a substitute, every of her achievements would be imputed to the Real Veronica. When Elena wasn’t ‘useful’ anymore, they would just have to eliminate her and Veronica would take her achievements without lifting a finger.

When Elena reveals that she is the a fake to the knight Hurebald in the carriage:

At first Hurelbad couldn't believe Elena's words, but then Elena confirmed that the real Veronica was alive and she was just a substitute. She also told him that the real Veronica might appear in any day and after that Elena would be like a puppet who had lost its value after the puppet show. Hurelbad was angry at Elena and told her that it doesn't matter if she is fake or not, she is his master and that wouldn’t change. Elena was touched by his loyalty and revealed that she is L and the owner of the famous saloon (Elena had anonymously owned a Saloon. And then the next scene proceeds with more of our beloved crown prince, Sian. Sian/Sion/Ciel/Cyan/Xion (you may see that as a translation for his name) and count Lyndon. Raid the opium dealers place. Sian reflects on how meeting Elena changed his life (Elena was the one that trapped the opium dealers and inform Sian). Yes, even more badass she is.

Sian’s relationship with Veronica (not Elena.) , how he reacted when he first meets her and how he falls in love with the fake Elena. all of this applies to the first timeline:

He despised Veronica. Each time he got close to her, he could only think of her cruelty in his memory. During childhood, she was not a kind person either. In his eyes, she was only a hypocrite, cruel and vicious woman.

During their official mariage, he didn't even bother to make eye contact with her since it was not worth it. The only thing they did was to do the first formal dance at the after-party dinner.
Veronica tried to call him, but Sian just ignored her.

After the party, Sian had to spend the night with Veronica. Veronica, in her nightwear, took courage to speak and to propose him some wine, but Sian still treated her as if she was invisible. He sat on a chair facing away from Veronica and stared at the window across the street.
He sat in this position until sunrise then left the room codly without any greetings.
It was one of the biggest humiliations that Veronica had faced.


How he falls in love with her (Elena) in the first timeline:

One day, Sian heard from Cecilia that Elena was learning tea etiquette. He found it quite unexpected coming from her but it was still not something he would care for.

When he walked through the East Palace, he heard that 'Veronica' was there. It made him feel like a precious place had been defiled by something ugly.
"Go back." He tried to chase her away, but when he saw 'Veronica's lonesome glance and her wistful smile , he was deeply confused whether she was really Veronica.
Nevertheless, he turned away, ignoring such annoyance. It's just a passing question. To Ciel, she was nothing but an object of contempt.

Every 2 days, 'Veronica' came to see Ciel to make him some tea, but it always resulted in him sending her back. This time, she began to disturbe Ciel, since the real Veronica never acted like this.
It became a daily routine for Ciel to send her back each time she came to see him

One day, she didn't came. Ciel found it unusual and asked his subordinates to find her whereabouts. Turned out she was having a tea time with Emperor Richard.
He then rushed to the garden and heard his father laughing. He doubted his ears since the emperor Richard had lost his laughter as his health deteriorated and as the atrocities of the nobles went too far. But now, he was showing a faint smile.
Well, Ciel decided to cut in

. Veronica was so embarassed that she ran away, whereas Ciel finally tasted her tea for the first time and found it surprinsingly delicious


When Richard died and his funeral took place, Ciel couldn't take his eyes off "Veronica" in a moment. Everything in "Veronica's mourning the death of Emperor Richard was reverent. Her moist eyes were filled with sincerity to dismiss it as acting.

After that, he overheard Len and Elena and discovered that she was a fake all along

When 'Veronica' saw him, she was terrified, Ciel was struck by a strong impulse. He wanted to comfort her. But he knew he shouldn't, so Ciel overcame the urge and turned a blind eye to her. He ignored her more harshly because she would shake his mind if he made eye contact.

Ciel became more and more confused about his feeling when he learned that "Veronica" was learning Painting from Raphael. He interrogated the latter, who responded to him that Veronica was not a cruel woman and she was suffering from a terrible solitude. Ciel didn't understand why since Veronica was the heir of the Grand Duke's house, with almost the world below her feet.

Sometimes later, Cecilia died by poisoning. Veronica's house was the prime suspect. 'Fake Veronica' too was a strong suspect since Cecilia drank tea with her the day before she died. But when Ciel saw "Veronica"'s moist eyes, looking at the dead Cecilia, which seemed to be heartbroken. Although she didn't shed tears, she seemed to swallow her sorrow. It was appalling to think that she was the one who poisoned Cecilia.

Cecilia's vacancy didn't feel much. Veronica, who participated in the Empress's events, played her role without fail.
The time between Ciel and "Veronica" naturally increased as they worked on the official schedule. When their eyes happened to meet, she shook her head, not knowing what to do.

Ciel looked at the fake Veronica. As the suspicion of being a fake grew stronger, there was admiration for the fake Veronica and her striking resemblance. They ressembled each other like twins.
However the fake Veronica was a good example of how to socialize with the envoys. Her elegant hand gestures, her smile and a frivolous way of speaking were incredibly dignified.
Perhaps conscious of Ciel's gaze, "Veronica" turned her head, and showed signs of embarrassment. She smiled awkwardly.
At that moment Ciel's face also turned with embarrassment. As he faced that smile, an indescribable strange feeling shook his chest to the point of displeasure. Ciel turned his head to turn away from the unknown emotion (love.)


After that day, Ciel deliberately kept the fake Veronica away. However, there were many common events between them. He tried not to make eye contact as much as he could, but she smiled awkwardly when he tried not to.
Thump. Yeah, that smile. It rushed in without permission and left its mark deep in Ciel's heart. It was a smile that made him think of something even when he closed his eyes and did other things.

It was the National Day, when Ciel got sick from overworking. Laying in his bed, he heard a voice calling him. It was the 'Fake Veronica'
The fake Veronica was looking anxiously down at him.
He asked:
"Who are you?"
"Yes?" The fake Veronica's eyes shook violently.
"I asked who you were."
It was something he wanted to ask more than a thousand times. Who was she?

To the unexpected question, the fake Veronica was silent. Soon, she smiled. A very painful and sad smile.
"It's me. The Empress Cecilia."
It couldn't be Cecilia. Because she was dead.
Still, Ciel understood why the fake Veronica said that: she was worried that Ciel might kick her out when he knew she was Veronica, but she wanted to be with him and she couldn't leave him because she was worried.
Ciel couldn't say anything. He was anxious to see her sincerity coming to him.
And Ciel's heart, which had been kept deep in his heart, was no different from hers, it was heartbroken.


Ciel felt that he wanted to put down his duties and responsibilities that he had on his shoulders for the first time while he was in a daze.
Ciel pulled her hand.
"Your Majesty?" The fake Veronica's upper body bent down like a fall.
Her surprised face was for a moment, and she gently closed her eyes, and soon after, their lips covered. They gave each other sad kisses that would only hurt each other.

Ciel/Sian’s memory’s in the second timeline:

Ciel didn’t reincarnate or got his memories of the 1st timeline back, he didn’t understand why Elena pushed him away like a person who was hurt by him.

Moreover, it was actually Elena who saw his flashbacks of the past in the form of dreams and not Ciel himself. So it was safe to say that this current Ciel didn’t have any idea about what he had done to her. (Basically Elena gets flashbacks of Ciel and learns why he treated her coldly.)

In the second timeline (current) he quickly becomes infatuated by her! He also finds out very quickly that she is a substitute!

Elena and Ren team up to take down the duchy, the saloon a mentioned earlier (in Korean, l and r are commonly mixed up so Len and Ren will be used interchangeably)

Under the name of L, Elena organized a Secret Mask Salon. She used Lucia's appearance (wig, glasses,...)

That day, Elena met up with Len and asked him if he was her enemy in which he answered that they were on the same side now and he would help her to destroy the Grand Duchy.

Hurelbad and Elena's people were quite worried about this collaboration since Len was a double edge sword: His potential was sure to be a great help but there was also a risk that he might go out of control, but Elena still decided to trust him.

The delay of Veronica’s return:

Veronica was now awoken and was ready to return at anytime.

With that in mind, Elena and Ciel had a secret met-up. Ciel was dead-worried and asked Elena to leave as soon as possible since the Grand Duke would come to take her life very soon.
However, Elena knew that even if they had inflicted a financial damage to the Grand Duchy (the destruction of the opium plantation), it still lacked a decisive blow.

In order to buy herself sometimes, Elena asked Ciel to organize a selection to elect the Crown Princes, with the final ceremony in four month. Reluctant but Ciel utimately accepted her request.
Since Veronica hadn't been in society in over 3 years, Liv and the Grand Duchy would have no choice but to embrace Elena who was equipped with the necessary qualities to fight against other nobles.
During that time, Elena would use her status as Princess Veronica to turn the nobility around.
Before leaving, Ciel asked Elena to not get hurt and if she felt dangerous, just throw everything away and get out of there.

At Liabrick (Liv)'s side, she was surprised with the news of the Crown Princess' ceremony, and just as Elena predicted, she and the Grand Duke decided to use Elena for the competition.
Liv came to inform the Real Veronica about her delayed return and promised her that when she came back, the Crown Princess' would already be ready for her to sit.
Veronica warned Liv that she would not accept any blemishes when she came back but accepted the decision. For Veronica, the seat was obviously for her since in the only Empire, there was only Ciel who was fit for her (she did not like him romantically but she thought that only him would be at her level of nobility gosh, shows how she’s a hold digging bitch.)

Liv came to see Elena and give her a letter from her parents (obviously a fake since they didn't know their whereabouts and they didn't know that the mastermind was Elena haha), threatened her to do well in the Crown Princess' competition if not they would take back the money from them.
Elena just laughed inside and played with Liv's abominable prank.

The preparation: (further spoilers ahead are the academy and more of Elena being the white lotus she is )

Liv increased Elena's lessons but her teacher (Madam the Pangloz) knew that Elena was already perfect so instead they just leisurely having tea time or she just let Elena alone and the latter continued to prepared her plan


The servent brought out fortune cookies and Elena understood that inside those biscuits there were secret messages from Len to not make the Grand Duchy suspicious

Later, Liv dragged Elena into a nobles' meeting to try to find faults in her but Elena just succeded in everything (her gaze, hand gestures, speech were all perfect)
Elena just thought "Veronica won't get her reputation either way"

Inside Liabrick's mind, doubts became more and more intense "maybe, really if..she lied to me?!" As in the past she would have dismissed as nonsense but not anymore (ya know when she failed as appointing Lorentz as Elena's watchdog and many other stuffs).
She secretly asked for Anne the maid to report to her everything, but Anne just lied by fear. Liv noticed there was a ruby ring in Anne's finger.
She understood that Elena had pretented to trust Anne, gave her a precious jewelry and ultimately succeded in buying her


Elena attented some other meetings and she noticed that Liabrick became more and more wary of her.
This time, she danced with Len and during the dance they talked about political stuffs.

She also talked with some other nobles. I skipped those parts too but she managed to manipulate some of them, secretly came to their mansion disguised as May (with Hurelbad as her side) and proposed to them some investissment.

Back to Ciel, he met up with a Jacqueline who was introduced to him by Elena as "L". They talked about the preparation of the downfall of the Grand Duchy and Jacqueline said that she thought Ciel and L were lovers and Ciel had a faint smile haha

First contest was tea time. There were 34 candidates.

Of course, Elena was perfect. Other nobles including Abella (she came from other grand families) tried to mock 'Fake Veronica' but Elena just smiled and talked to them about the illegal transaction during the late-night ball recently and those girls freaked out

In the meantime, Leabrick tried to find the 'suspicious' people who came to the late-night ball and ultimately destroyed their financial income (the ball was financed by the Grand Duke). Her doubt came to Ciel (yep they also monitored the Crown Prince) and understood that him too was up to something.
Since there were too many stuffs going on, Liabrick overworked and became more and more skinny.

Anyway, she came to Elena's room and announced her result: 'fake Veronica' came 1st with an overwhelming score.
Elena played the fake white lotus and acted as if she was really surprised and happy while Liv pretended to be a "good sister", holding Elena's hands, and questioned her about Len, about why she met up with him. She kept pressuring Elena in order to find some faults and mistakes.
Well, Elena just cried and made some excuse that she met up with him because Len knew she was a substitute . Liv patted Elena shoulders, saying that Elena wouldn't need to worry because she would take care of it blabla

Lorentz reported everything to the Real Veronica. The latter didn't seem so uninterested anymore. This time, she asked Lorentz to tell Liabrick to keep the doll (= Elena) alive. Lorentz didn't understand why and Veronica explained that it would be more fun to see the despair in her substitute "You take what's most precious, you trample on it, you throw it away. Just as fair as you enjoyed it...I'll give it to you, to that mean bitch who looks like me"

Second contest:

The second contest was a face-to-face with the elders.
Elena came down the stair, the grand duke waited for her, hugged her and prayed for her good fortune.

During the competition, Elena gave different answers compared to other candidates and the jury seemed to really like her.

The contest ended, Elena had a secret talk with Ciel (he was so cuute, I mean he said something like "It's a shame that you're doing so well. There's no room for me to come forward" or "meeting you is the greatest blessing of my life") and talked about the plan in her head. Ciel was really amazed!

Liv/ Liabrick leaving:

Liabrick was now in a difficult position: she made a mistake (opium plantation and stuffs) but was given another chance to made up because she was trusted by the Grand Duke, but things kept slipping out of her hands. If she couln't succeed this time, she would likely lost her position. Panicked, she went to the Grand Duke, tried to persuade him and asked him to give her 10 more days to split up the organized aristocracy.
But there was no place for her in the heart of the Grand Duke.
He was disappointed in Liv and she couldn't not do anything as she pleased anymore.

Still Liv confided to the Grand Duke than the 'Fake Veronica' was really suscious and said goodbye to the Grand Duke who didn't even bother to look at her.

When Elena heard from Anne that Liabrick was leaving the palace, she was so happy that she wanted to laughed at her with a sad performance. But it was too early to be intoxicated with a small victory. The duke and Veronica were still alive and there was still a long way to go.

Just in time, Elena saw Liv leaving the mansion. Their gazes collided, Elena didn't avoid the eye. There were no need to deceive Leabrick anymore, and she had a faint but clear smile around her mouth

After Liv left, Lorentz came to see Elena as the Grand Duke's command and promised to serve Elena with all his heart. Elena just laughed as his hypocrisy and acted as if she was really happy to have him. Nevertheless, Elena felt safe because she knew she had Hurelbad by her side.

Lorentz's appointment to control Elena was not a coincidence, it was issued by the grand duke, which was caused by Liabrick suspicion.

Third contest day:

The third contest was to see the Empress (Empress Florence was crowned Empress after Empress Seon (Ciel mother) died, in the first timeline she caught little Ciel like a mouse and vented her anger by persistently harassing Elena)

Before the actual contest, the following events contained in the spoilers below took place. And of course, because of that, Elena was unable to attend the 3rd competition

Liv’s attack and FAILURE!!:

Even with Lorentz by Elena's side, Liv still wanted to have revenge and decided to launch an attack to kill Elena. She deployed the 2nd infantry division around the Grand Duke palace with some of the 1st infantry division.
Now she couldn't look down on Elena anymore. She recognized her as an equal or greater than herself.
She waited for Elena to come out to kill her.

However, Elena was a few steps ahead and escaped. They couldn't even find Lorentz either. Panicked, Liv ordered the army to dispatch and find Elena.

The end of Lorentz:

Elena asked Hurelbad and Lorentz stay outside of her room.
A while later, Hurelbad knocked the door. No answers. He called several times but there was still no answer.

Feeling something strange, Lorentz turned the doorknob roughly and ran into the room. His expression hardened as he witnessed the empty drawing room. He searched everywhere as if being possessed but couldn't find any trace of Elena.

When Lorentz turned around, he saw Hurelbad locked the door.
"What is this about?"

Hurelbad, whose expression did not change even though Elena had vanished
"The lady told me to deliver the message"
He pulled out the sword
"I'll give Lord Lorentz, the knight of Betrayal, a sabbatical. That's the punishment for you"

Lorentz's face was beautifully distorted. It sound ridiculous and insulting to say that a little junior was going to punish him


"The knight of betrayal? I've accepted you as a knight without foundation, and you're not even have the qualifications for, it's a sight. Listen to me Hurelbad! The knight of betrayal is not me but you! You don't even know that your owner is a fake princess. Putting a sword at me is an act of betraying the great house itself!

Hurelbad's expression did not change a bit. He raised his sword and showed firm determination
"This is my chivalry" (Hurelbas being the perfect knight he is!)

Now Lorentz understood the situation. It was premeditated to keep him and Hurelbad away from the drawing room under the pretext of being sensitive ahead of the 3rd contest.
Lorentz grated his teeth

He pulled out the sword he was wearing. A creepy energy flowed from the blade.
"If I torture you, I'll be able to track down the face princess. Do you knowthe fake princess made a mistake? Leaving you here. You'll never win me'

Lorentz kicked the ground, blew himself away and rushed at Hurelbad but the latter slanted his body and splat his attack.

"You're good at dodging...can you do that if I cut out off your leg?"


However, such a judgment has led to an irreversible situation.
"Oh, my God," Lorentz looked down at his abdomen with uncontrollably trembling eyes. The cold blade pierced the abdomen and seemed to protrude behind the waist.
He didn't even see the movement "Imagination? Hey, that's ridiculous. To that baseless... ...from the meadow tribe. "
Lorentz grew up thinking he was a genius since he was young. So far, his record for the youngest knight that he received at the age of 18 has not been broken.

After confirming that he was out of breath, Hurelbad supported his falling body with one hand. Then, he took out an extra handkerchief and put it on top of the sword-stained blood.
It was a measure to prevent blood from leaking out as much as possible.

Elena ordered not to leave any trace as much as possible. That's why Hurelbad aimed for a loophole in the process of defeating Lorentz.
It was almost impossible for him to pull out if the guards came after hearing the sound of the sword striking.
"There's still a long way to go." It was good to deliberately avoid a close game, induce Lorenz's carelessness, and then take a blow. It was not that difficult as the difference in skills was so great.

Eventually, Lucas (= the best knight of the Grand Duke family) and a few people were able to found Elena, Hurelbad and May

They lauched an attack, but soon there were Len and Ciel who rejoined and helped Hurelbad defeating the knight.

Actually, Ciel was using the excuse of going "hunting" and "coincidentaly " witnessed the accident and launched a direct investigation.
Ciel revealed the existence of Leabrick and many political not-so-funny-stuffs going on. Consequently, many nobles openly expressed their distrust to the Grand Duchy.

In the end, even The grand duke had to come foward and comforted the angry aristocrats, saying that Leabrick had acted arbitrarily and had nothing to do with him.

In such a chaotic situation, Elena disappeared (actually she was hiding in her Secret Salon) and the Real Veronica officially returned

The Grand Duke locked Leabrick in the prison.

"It's funny," said Leah Brick, who had become half-mole by confinement. The hair was disheveled and the neat dress was dirty. There was not even a trace of the woman who shook the empire with hers brain.
"I can't believe I'm being humiliated by a little girl who doesn't even know the very foundation of the country."

"I think the reputation of Liabrick has been bubbling over. You've become arrogant after you've tasted some small success." Leabrick's eyes trembled thinly at Grand Duke Frances' insulting remarks.

She could bear it as much as she could. It was the fact that she was trampled on by Elena to the point where she could not deny a word of his miserable words.
"Kill me."
"Kill you?" sneered Grand Duke. "This is difficult."
"You've been so merciful to me."
"They're asking me to pay a huge fine for running a knight without permission in the imperial court. That's all? The nobles talk a lot about your command of the Knights."

Liabrick became a honeyed mute. It was a mistake and a failure. There was nothing to say.

Frances laughed sarcastically, looking at her avoiding the gaze.
"Have you looked in here? Half of those trapped in here are fom you."
"Well, Your Highness."
"Keep rotting in here. Every day, look back at yourself in the same situation as them and despair, Leabrick."

When he mentioned her name, Leabrick's lips, which had already turned blue, trembled. Grand Duke Frances giggled as if to enjoy her reaction.
"And you don't know, do you? Will I change my mind over time? Then I can think of your precious talent and bring it out."
"Please..."

Grand Duke Frances turned away with a faint laugh. Soon the silence that lay over the shaking candle was broken by the cry of the prisoners.
"You, you were LIABRICK?"
"You locked me up here. I am innocent!"

Being trapped alone was to suffer from terrible fear and despair, and as the abuse, insults, demeaning and contempt of the prisoners with grudges poured out, there was no resource to endure mentally.
"Please, stop it!"
Leabrick closed hes ears with both hands and screamed.
But her cry only further stimulated the prisoners with no avail.
Rather, it became more intense. For a very long time.

Anna, with May, followed Elena in her escaping. She was so scared of the Grand Duke coming for her life and begged Elena to save her.
So Elena and Emilio (another character) decided to banish Anna from the Empire and coaxed her to board the ship to Mariana Islands with good words.
In the oral fairy tale, it was referred as the heaven on earth, but in reality, the land was abandonned. It was invaded by pirates, and it was even hard to catch fish due to strong waves.

Elena heard new of her parents from Emilio.
They successfuly settled in the northern part of the country and were said to be engaged in the Wine business, as recommended by Elena in her letter, and now they lived in a well-to-do life thanks to the booming commerces.
Elena was very proud of the 2 of them who was forced to settle in an exotic island without connection.

Elena’s plans: (saloon):

As she had been working as "L" for a while, she thought to strengthen the inner workings of the salon and setting a financial trap to the Grand Duke family.
So far, Elena had been constrained as she always needed to devise a scheme to avoid Leabrick's surveillance. But not anymore. She was now able to the the initiative in drawing up the game.

Elena had bought all the surroungding lands and buildings around the Salon at a low price, and now the price was soaring high. Therefore, now there were more than a 100 lands, forests, and building purchased in the capital in the name of L. She could now even be called as the "Empire's greater financier" in name and in reality.

Seems like Elena was collaborating with Caliph, an art broker, and since she already knew what art and fashions trends would be like in the future, she thought of taking advantage of that by opening her own Street.
The Noblesse Street, belonged to the Grand Duke family, was under construction, with the objective to attract the aristocrats. Astronomical founds had been invested.
Consequently, with Elena's street, the Noblesse one would lose its place and instead, fashion-concious and artistic-minded aristocrates would visit the special street that had been created around the Salon.

Ren/Len and “male-lead syndrome”:

Elena scheduled a meeting with Len after a long time.
Len previously had asked Elena to grant a wish in exchange of him helping her to escape.
Elena then asked Len to wish for something and she'd try to grand it in her capacity.

The only thing that Len asked for was that....to stay with him for about 6 hours (before Ciel came)
Elena stared at Len since it was a little bit embarrasing for her but accepted it anyway because it was not a difficult request.
Len asked to have a meal with her, then a cup of tea.
While Elena was preparing the tea, Len just kept looking at her for a long time.

"What shall we do now?"
"Nothing" said Len while leaning on the sofa as if he were serious.

"Why do you keep looking like that?"
The longer Len looked at her, the more and burdensome Elena was"

"Can you stop looking?"
"Why?"
"I'm burneded"
"No." Len laughed. "You do your job. I did what I had to do" His attitute was cleary different than from the past.
"Don't regret it later"
Elena picked up a philosophy book and sat down.

.
"Oh" When Elena briefly closed the book and stretched her shoulders and that the burden had disappeared.
Len was sleeping like a crib.
'who would know this man would be the greatest rascal of the Empire?'
Elena carefully recovered him with a blanket and looked at him closely.
She thought he was handsome.

"You didn't sleep?"

Considering she had not showed up for nearly 3 years, Elena thought it was a disease but it was actually poison.
"No way"
"That's right. I poisoned her"

Len told the whole truth without hiding it and asked Elena if she was angry and if she wanted to hit him?

Elena was really angry ben she knew that Len was hurt. Without him, she wouldn't be dragged in all this mess in the past as well in the present.
But when she thought about Ian, her unparalleled joy in the world, and her identity as "L", the hostess of the secret salon and the leading woman, she knew that she could only be here today thanks to Veronica's poisoning.

Then Len asked for her real name. After hesitating, Elena admitted:
"Elena"
Len muttered her name repeatedly like a parrot and seemed very excited "Elena, Elena, Elena"
"Stop calling me"

Then they talked about the Grand Duke family who could get rid of Raphael, Cristina and Gentonio since they couldn't hire them, that's why Elena and her teams needed to devise a plan to protect those 3.
It was then that they ran out of time.
"Time's almost up"

"Well, don't worry. Anything's more meaningful when it's left" Len grinned

Ciel and Len just kept glaring at each other so Elena had to mediate between the 2.

They talked a about the Grand Duke family
At the end, Elena asked Len to let her and Ciel alone, in which Len left while pouting his lips haha

When they were finally alone, Elena gave Ciel an enveloppe with an astronomical amount of money. In the past, she knew he failed as an emperor because of the nobles' resistance but also financial problem
Ciel had a bitter smile. She knew everything, but he still felt miserable. The situation was so unsympathetic, even more because he couldn't refuse.

Ciel told Elena that it would be better to bestow her a title. Elena refused as she was good for now and the big problem was that she was a woman, and throughout history, only a few of them had been granted a title alone.
However, Ciel was stubborn, he wanted to protect Elena and he knew that giving her a title would stabilize her position. And using the law, even the Grand Duke could not persecute Elena.

"I'm more worried about you than you are concerned about me. I won't allow you to refuse"
With Ciel's heartfelt words, Elena was moved.
"....I'll accept it, Your Highness"
"The title is Baroness Jun. We'll take care of the award ceremony as a informal ceremony outside. I'll send someone to the salon"
"I'll greet the Empire gladly".
Now, L had become an imperial aristocrat in name and reality. It was her recompense, and her reputation would grow more and more, to be standing at the same line as the real Veronica.

"Elena". His expression, looking at Elena became strange. It was also new for her to tell him her real name for the first time and to hear her real name through his voice.
A feverish smile came around his mouth.

The ending (revenge): - the Archduke Ranche was executed

- Veronica was decapitated a while after him (the last chapter concentrated on her execution): she was charged with conspiracy, attempt murder, damage the Emperor,... with a total of 11 crimes. Before dying, she cursed everyone, especially Elena : « Don’t think this is the end, even after I die, I’ll visit you every night and drag you to hell »

- Before going to the Arc of Triumph (where the execution took place), Elena met up with Len (Ren) and asked him why he decided not to go, in which he answered : « I’m not interested in the death of a crazy bitch »

- Elena was escorted by Hurelbad to Ciel’s side (Ciel actually had prepared the most visible seat just for her). Wearing an expressionless face, she didn’t take her eyes off the decapitation even for a moment. It was the magic of revenge.
Veronica’s neck rolled under the execution table. The revenge was done, Elena could live properly now. She decided to live on with a smile until she couldn’t take any more steps further in life.

The confession (KYAAAA!!! UNDOUBTEDLY ONE OF MY MOST FAVORITE MOMENTS IN THE NOVEL!! HERE IS AN EXCERPT! FROM CHAPTER 230! This is after the execution of Veronica, hehe, Revenge complete.)

Not long after she entered the carriage, the vibration that was coming from the ground stopped.
"Have we already arrived?"
Den nodded, took out his watch, checked the time, and was relieved.
"That's a relief. I can't wait until today is over. Will you get off?"
Elena, who got off the carriage following Den, was startled by the place.
"Here?"
The unidentified thing located near the salon was in front of the livestock.


"Ah," spread out like moving stars in the night sky was a galaxy of fireflies. The brilliance caught her eyes, and the sour night breeze blew softly.
The mellow scent of flowers consoled her mind and body. A very familiar sound of water relaxed Elena's ears.
She thought about her childhood’s place, where people used to play with their feet in the water flowing deep in the mountains.

It was an incredible garden in the center of the capital. It was artificial, but beautiful.
She felt like she was being healed.

Elena turned her head and saw a man stood with his back against the Laurel tree
"Your Majesty."
Accentuated by the fireflies, there was a clearer smile on Ciel's face than ever before.
“Happy birthday.” he said,
“Oh,” Her heart was moved by his most affectionate congratulations. Including previous and present life.

Ciel smiled. Elena couldn't take her eyes off him.
His smile was natural enough to think that he was a cheerful person

"You know, you pushed me out as soon as I approached."
"Did I do that?"
"You pushed me out like a person who was hurt by me. It wasn't a day or two that I spent the nights with my eyes open, thinking I might have given you new wounds I didn't know."

Elena's eyes shook at Ciel's frank confession.
Elena, who was trying not to repeat past mistakes, did not expect to make Ciel heartbroken.

“So I hesitated.”
“Your Majesty.”
“But I don't want to hesitate any more.”
Ciel approached while looking at Elena.

He stood within reach. The distance that Elena had never been able to reach in the past, but now had been narrowed down.

He held out his hand.
”Will you be my lover?”
Elena's heart dropped. It was pounding so fast that she couldn't control it.
"I promise won't burden you. I'll keep our meeting secret until you allow it."
“Your Majesty.”
“Would you like to meet me like this?”

The barrier she had put gradually fell apart after Ciel's sincere confession.

She felt that very little by little, there was a clear crack going on, though insignificant to the point of being invisible. Ciel stood silent, reaching out his hand.
The fireflies stayed at his fingertips, reminding him of the distance between the two.


Elena hesitated. She was happy but scared at the same time, everything had changed so much compared to the past. She was afraid she would repeat the same mistake.
The newly launched relationship between the two could also face tragedies and she could lose what she'd accumulated.

Elena needed a lot of courage. 'I want to hold that hand.'
The feelings she had suppressed so far were choked up. She felt pathetic when she tried not to look back by forcibly turning away, avoiding, and pushing.
She wanted to change it. She wanted to get out of the past. And she wanted to be honest.


Elena put her white and long fingers on Ciel's hands. The fireflies flew in unison as if they had promised.
She wanted to know about this person. Even if she could regret it, she could keep it as a good memory.

“Ha ha ha,” Ciel laughed with the brightest smile. "You won't know how happy I am. I'm happy enough to want to hug you right now and run around the capital like a crazy man."
“Please respect yourself,” Elena laughed shyly. She did not hate him, who was delighted to forget even the status of the emperor. "Will you take a walk with me?"
"Yes," said Ciel amiably while leading her hand to his side.


The shoulders of the two people standing side by side showed a different picture from the past.
"In the future, I'll tell you my story."
"It's okay now. "
"No, I'll do it when the time accumulates a little longer. When those memories become dull enough to fade”.

By then, everything would have changed, to the point where she would feel pathetic if she kept on clinging on the past.
While pledging to him, Elena walked with Ciel through the garden and felt the warmth of both hands held tightly together for a long time.

In chapter 234, during their sleep-over, Lucia asked Elena if she and Ciel had kissed or doing anything more, in which Elena was very embarassed since they had only hold hands (hold hands, see each other in the moonlight, and walk together..). The surprised Lucia exclaimed that even middle schoolers nowadays kissed

Elena thought about her past memories and baby Ian. They still left a scar in her heart, but she knew how considerate was Ciel so she thought it was time to move on.

In chapter 235, Elena organized a musical play and invited Ciel to watch it with her. When Ciel arrived he was quite worried because of her pale complexion (she worked very hard to prepare the play) but Elena reassured him that it was okay.
Elena sat next to Ciel with their shoulders almost touching
During the play, she couldn't concentrate at all and kept admiring Ciel. She felt confort next to him and eventually fell asleep
When she woke up, the play was over and everybody was gone except Elena and Ciel haha.
Ciel opened his mouth when he noticed she opened her eyes
''would you like to rest a little more?'' and wrapped her head, pulled it gently and leaned it on his shoulder.

Elena felt like she was going to be sucked into Ciel's eyes and voice which directed at her.

Ciel grabbed her chin softly with the hand that was covering her cheek and lifted it carefully. The eyes of Ciel and Elena crossed diagonally.
Ciel slowly put his lips on Elena's lips, as if time had stopped.

Elena felt breathless from the soft touch of Ciel's mouth.

She thought this moment was like a lie.
