People hate Lucio too much but he really isn't a bad person. Except for making Patrizia queen because she's infertile, everything else was Rosemond's doing. Petronilla was executed because of Rosemond and Lucio didn't even know she did it until evidence proved otherwise. He's a great emperor despite his emotional disposition. Unless you read the novel, you probably won't be able to realize that.

Also let me point out that Lucio in the previous timeline was an affection-craving fool but in this timeline, he is more self-aware and in denial because he knows Rosemond doesn't love him. Although he didn't show it at the beginning, he was actually having doubts about her. This is because Rosemond also has memories of the past and her self-awareness of her past mistakes altered her personality. I'm quite sure she truly loved Lucio despite manipulating him in the past timeline but in the present, she's so focused on becoming queen that it became her downfall in the end.

(LUCIO)
The previous emperor (Lucio's father) was married to Alisa, the daughter of the most powerful Duke in the kingdom. But Alisa was infertile and at the same time the emperor's concubine, Janet, gave birth to an heir. As a queen who could not give birth, Alisa was basically useless so she decides to take Janet's son as her own. But the truth was that she just wanted to fuse her jealousy and abuse the kid; physically, emotionally, and sometimes sexually as well. Lucio grew up believing Alisa was his mother and didn't understand why she treated him like that. Days before his birthday, Alisa called Lucio to the courtyard telling him she had a gift for him (Lucio never once celebrated his birthday so he was excited). When Lucio arrived, Alisa threatened him to kill a person hidden underneath a white veil. He refused but then she began to beat him up until he gave in. With a sword she gave him, he stabbed the person under the veil multiple times. Alisa, laughing crazily, then reveals that she wasn't his real mother and that the person Lucio killed was Janet, his biological mother. At that time the emperor was away from the palace so when he came back, Alisa was dethroned from her status as queen and Lucio was never the same again.

Rosemond is the daughter of a prostitute and a Baron. When she was 10, her biological mother was killed by the Baroness then the Baron took her in. She was treated like a maid and abused in the estate. At one point, her half-brother began to see her as a woman and so he raped her. Rosemond wanted to become queen in order to not only destroy the Baron's household but to also eliminate anyone who judged her for her commoner background. That's when Rosemond decided to "coincidentally" meet the emperor and share her painful story with him. Because of that, Lucio sympathized with her, and her plot to becoming queen began.

(DUKE EPHRENY)

Duchess Ephreny was the daughter of a Marquis and Duke Ephreny was the son of a Baron. When they were younger, he seduced her, spiked her drink, and raped her. When she became pregnant, she decided to marry him because she had no memories of the rape and was convinced she loved him. Keep in mind though, that Duchess Ephreny is a blood descendent of the Ephrenys so she has a general claim of all rights and wealth while her husband is only powerful because of his wife's last name. Soon after the Duchess bore a son and her husband went from Marquis to Duke. The reason he was able to gain such a high title was because he manipulated the previous empress Alisa. Because of him, Alisa began to hate Janet (Lucio's biological mother) which ultimately lead to her forcing Lucio to kill his own mother. Rosemond knows about this because of her past memories, so she uses it to blackmail Duke Ephreny.

There are 3 pillars in the kingdom. The chancellor of the three was the Dukedom of Oswins (empress Alisa's house). But because Ephreny manipulated the previous empress Alisa into committing treason, Duke Oswins secluded himself. This gave way for the Dukedom of Ephreny to climb to the top. Thus, Rose being adopted makes her a high-status woman of the empire, second only to Patrizia. Rosemond's plan is to become Princess of Ephreny, announce that Patrizia is infertile, and work to becoming queen dowager. She basically plans to become a widowed queen where she gets rid of Lucio after bearing his child in order to gain an immediate legal claim of the throne, through giving birth to the heir.

Patrizia and Lucio grow increasingly close especially when she sees Lucio hurting himself due to a psychological attack in the next chapter of the manhwa (chapter 48). They also keep coincidentally seeing each other in the garden at night, which is also where Lucio tells Patrizia about his past. This all happens while Rosemond went away to her parent's house so when she came back Lucio began to reject her because he started to side with Patrizia. Everyone who knew about his past would avoid or judge him, but Patrizia pitied him and didn't understand why he was so used to pain. He then falls for her kind and genuine personality as well as her capabilities as queen.

On the evening of the Nation's Founding, Rosemond is officially adopted as Duke Ephreny's daughter. Lucio and Patrizia are both close but awkward with each other, mainly because Lucio is starting to subtly act on his feelings by always being around Patrizia and constantly asking if she's tired or not (yes he's really falling in love with her and infinitely dumping that bimbo) but Patrizia doesn't know how to react to him. But while she's alone, Rosemond appears and suddenly talks about rumors of how Patrizia hadn't slept with Lucio yet. She then asks why Patrizia isn't pregnant yet and claims Patrizia could be infertile which makes Patrizia incredibly furious because infertility is a great taboo (see what happened to late empress Alisa) among the public. And with their culture (especially considering she's the queen) it defines her dignity as a woman as well. Patrizia slaps Rosemond a couple of times out of anger after she proposes they both have a fertility test to find out the truth. After the fight, Lucio pulls Rosemond away to talk. They argue and break up after Rose admits she was only making use of his trauma and that Patrizia would never love a man who killed his own mother.

Because of Rosemond's scandalous actions, the Council decides to have the fertility test but Patrizia refuses to take it. Lucio keeps desperately urging her to, but Patrizia doesn't listen because she was positive she isn't sterile. That's when she realizes why Lucio was acting strangely desperate. She connects the dots and finds out about Lucio's plan with Rosemond of getting a queen who couldn't give birth. Patrizia feels devastated and betrayed while asking him "How are you any different from empress Alisa?!" then leaves him alone. After returning to her palace, she orders her maids to find a perfume called stereen (?) and gift it to Rosemond. When Rosemond received it, she started using it a lot, thinking it was Patrizia's way of licking her shoes for mercy.

One evening, Rosemond enters Lucio's bedroom and makes Lucio drink an aphrodisiac in order to force him to sleep with her. At this point, Lucio is completely in love with Patrizia even though she absolutely hates him. So he leaves the room to restrain himself because Rosemond wasn't going to leave. By coincidence, he meets Patrizia outside. Seeing his state, Patrizia suggested he slept with Rosemond/maid/any woman in the palace but he didn't want to. So Patrizia decides to help him and they have their first night together.

Petronilla actually has memories of the previous timeline. Patrizia finds this out during Lucio's birthday banquet. Rosemond had changed the traditional birthday flowers to sage - empress Alisa's favorite flowers that by the scent and appearance, could give Lucio severe psychological attacks because of his PTSD. But Petronilla was able to change the flowers to amaryllis and exposes her past memories to Patrizia. Because of that, Patrizia finds confidence in finding a way to kill Rosemond. She was depressed knowing her efforts were wasted because she's infertile, but it became her strength because she realized that she finally had nothing else to lose.

Petronilla has an important role in helping Patrizia expose Rosemond. Because of her, the truth about January (Duke Ephreny's mistress) conspiring with Rosemond will be revealed. In the end, she manages to steal the letters Rosemond sent to January in order to provide them as evidence in court.

Patrizia is confused with her feelings after sleeping with Lucio, so she goes to her parent's home for a visit. On her way back to the palace, she's ambushed by assassins. Patrizia had purposely exposed the fact that she was leaving for her parents' home so she already expected the assassination to happen. And according to the plan, Patrizia has the royal guards save her while she purposely slices her arms and legs with a knife for better effect and to cause an uproar among the people about someone trying to harm the queen. When she returns to the palace, Lucio says it was Rosemond's plan because he heard her talking about the assassination with her maid. Rosemond is again sentenced to execution and Lucio whole-heartedly agrees with it. She tries to get Duke Ephreny to save her but Patrizia and Petronilla had compiled Rosemond's letters to January and sent them to Duchess Ephreny.

The Duchess's son with the Duke had died because of the illness so the Duchess was mentally unstable. And after returning to the empire and reading through the letters about her husband raping her, she kicks January and the Duke out of the mansion. So Rosemond then has no one to save her from execution. Days before her death, Patrizia confronts Rosemond about what she did to Duke Ephreny, January, and basically all her crimes. Rosemond claims she would survive because apparently, she was pregnant with Lucio's child. Patrizia then exposes that the perfume she gave Rosemond as a "gift" before had contained chemicals that could make her infertile. So Rosemond ultimately became infertile as well. After that, Rosemond is killed without delay.

Patrizia tells Lucio that she wants to step down from being queen. Lucio panics and begs her to stay. He always felt like he was alone in the palace but having Patrizia there made him feel like he wasn't (it was a very dramatic and emotional scene ngl. you could practically smell his mental state crumbling) In the end, Patrizia stays in the palace because (1) Lucio, as emperor, wouldn't let her, and (2) it wasn't that simple to just stop being queen.

In an effort to appease her, Lucio asks Petronilla about things Patrizia liked. Because Patrizia liked sweets/chocolate, Lucio asks the chef to teach him how to bake. He then keeps sending sweets to Patrizia that he baked on his own.

Petronilla tells Patrizia to stop staying in the past because her mission to save her family is complete. Petronilla admits that she did love Lucio (in the previous timeline) but it shouldn't stop Patrizia from loving him in the present because Lucio loved Patrizia and she wanted Patrizia to finally live happily. This is when Patrizia decides to accept her feelings for Lucio. Coincidentally that night, Lucio had another psychological attack. Patrizia goes into his room to comfort him and tell him she accepted his feelings. They slept together for the second time, but as lovers.

Anything after that is very fluffy husband-wife moments with Lucio still baking sweets for Patrizia from time to time. There's a scene during Patrizia's birthday banquet where she sees Lucio being seduced by a woman who wanted to be queen but he harshly rejects her. When he realized Patrizia saw him with the woman, he adorably tries to explain the situation frantically. They end up dancing on the balcony, having a steamy kiss, and also watching the fireworks together. Patrizia then, for the first time, tells Lucio that she loved him.

The last chapter of the original story is about Petronilla and Rothesay's wedding. Lucio and Patrizia are attending but in disguise. Other side stories after the main story are about (1) a coup de tat in the previous timeline after Petronilla died, (2) Rothesay's POV when he met Petronilla, and (3) Lucio and Patrizia's family life.

Patrizia and Lucio's family life is about Lucio being forced to choose a concubine in order to produce an heir because Patrizia was "infertile". Patrizia agreed to it but Lucio knew she was hurt and always cried a lot because the one thing she wanted was to have a child with the man she loved. Lucio promised she would be his one and only queen. When Patricia went to do charity, she met this old guy claiming he knew her and asked to see her later. During the concubine selection, Patrizia chose Lady Petunia among the candidates but she turns out to be another bitch that belongs to the street who openly insults Patrizia in front of everyone. Lucio then defends his wife and puts the bitch right where she belongs. Before Patrizia reselects another candidate, the old man from before arrived and exposed himself as the physician who conducted her health documents during the queen selection. Apparently, he heard Rosemond's plan in choosing the queen, so to save his daughter who was one of the candidates, he messed up Patrizia's fertility results.

Patrizia and Lucio then do the deed a lot of times (づ￣ ³￣)づ in order to make babies. Lucio joked about having 10 kids but Patrizia laughed saying it was impossible for her to give birth for 10 straight years. Lucio suggests they keep having twins to limit it to 5 years lol. One month later Patrizia is confirmed to be pregnant. Lucio kept feeding her berries and they kept being lovey-dovey.

Time skip 7 years later their first son Dylan wants to sleep with his mom. Lucio says you only sleep with someone you marry so Dylan says he wants to marry Patrizia. Lucio gets annoyed (cute) so Patrizia tells Dylan to sleep early and get tall because she likes tall people. Lucio has the AUDACITY to feel proud because he thinks he's pretty tall lmao. The three of them end up sleeping beside each other. Dylan then asks how babies were made and Lucio tells him if he wants a brother he should let him and Patrizia "hold hands alone". After that night Dylan keeps giving them time alone (⌒▽⌒)

Another time skip, Dylan has triplets as younger sisters; Regina, Ressie, and Raine. Lucio by this time is already in his 40s but Patrizia still describes her heart beating fast when she's with him despite them being together for 20 years already. Patrizia says none of the emperors throughout history have been as good to their queens as Lucio was to her. But maybe Dylan would break the record and Patrizia was really proud to have him as her son. Lucio also gets jealous since none of their children wanted to marry him, including his triplet daughters. All of them wanted to marry their mom.

The next night it's Patrizia's birthday and she's surprised with gifts. After opening them, the children tell Lucio and Patrizia to kiss. They kissed and lived happily ever after. The END

They teleport to a forest. Aria's still shocked and was thinking how many minutes has it happen.

Next day there's news about Aria commit treason to the count by pushing him(which aint true)

Aria and asher tried to leave many evidence as possible.

Both of em go to a small village to treat as a vacation.

They go to Croa to meet lohan( White haired dude on the cover), While in Rocent's mansion Mielle created some witnesses for accusing Aria.

So a bit of fast forward to the Court. Mielle presented to the court about Aria's bracelet, but Aria showed that the bracelet's still at her wrist. Mielle's witnesses retracted their testimonies saying Mielle forced them to give false testimonies.

Aria go home to the mansion while mielle admitted to the hospital cuz she fainted.

So Mielle found guilty in the court and they sentence her to prison for 20 years.

The Count has woken up in his Coma and refused to see Mielle's face.

Mielle and Isis is fucked up.
Oscar betrayed his family and cooperate with the imperial family.

Frey told Isis about Aria's parentage and Asher told her about his power. So Isis learned it the hard way that she lose. They beheaded Isis, even though she was betrayed by his brother Oscar she was relieved that he is save but as a commoner.

Mielle became Aria's maid. The Count mansion is also on bankruptcy and Aria told Cain that her birthday is near. They go to the teacher's wedding and Mielle was the center of the attention, because of that Aria told her to go away.

Mielle planned to poison Aria, Aria expected it and switch the cups. The one who drank it was Cain and Mielle was too late so Cain dead now.

Mielle's about to beheaded. Aria told her about the past and such.

The Count commit suicide after knowing Mielle's death

Fast forward again.

Aria met her Paternal Family. She was confused about them since she didn't know about family love including her mother, so it felt weird for her

Shi Xiaonian (Nina) eventually gets over her mental barrier with the help of Gong Ou (Aubery) and she falls in love with him. She confesses to him and accepts being his lover, only with the condition that he must not make her a mistress. He agrees and they start dating. He announces to the whole world that she is his girlfriend. During this time, Mu Qianchu (Charles), seeing that he can't beat Gong Ou's destructing power, decides to give up and go abroad. But the plane he boards crashes and Shi Xiaonian is distraught. They can't even find the body. His family blames her for his death. She simply tries to forget him to get rid of her guilt. Meanwhile, they destroy Shi Di (Shi Xiaonian's adopted sister)'s career to get revenge for the time Shi Xiaonian was despised by everyone. Gong Ou's family objects to their relationship, since they plan to get him engaged to Mona Lancaster, the daughter of a European noble family. His mother, Luo Qi, comes from Britain to solve the problem. Shi Xiaonian tries to leave a good impression on her but Luo Qi refuses to accept Shi Xiaonian as her son's partner. She tells her that it's OK to be his lover, his mistress, but he will marry a noble woman worth their family's status no matter what. Shi Xiaonian firmly refuses to be his mistress and neither one of them is able to persuade the other. Later on, Shi Di tries to get revenge on Shi Xiaonian, cooperating with Gong Ou's mother to get her raped by several men. Shi Xiaonian is then kidnapped and beaten unconscious, and when she wakes up she finds her body showing signs of assault. Still, even though she was unconscious and doesn't have any memories of the time, remembering the sensation whenever Gong Ou forced himself on her, she feels that she was not raped, just beaten black and blue. Gong Ou comes to her rescue, only to find her in an extremely miserable state. On her face is written several words like "Gong Ou's woman is really delicious", and Gong Ou snaps right at that moment. Shi Xiaonian tries to tell him that she was not raped but is unable to convince him. He firmly believes that she was raped, and is incredibly furious. Shi Xiaonian desperately tries to prove her innocence but Gong Ou doesn't even let her explain, he refuses to believe her because she was unconscious at the time and it's not possible for her to clearly remember the events. He doesn't think Shi Xiaonian is lying, he thinks she only says what she wants to believe, she refuses to believe the truth. He tells her he will love her no matter what. He finds out that while it was the work of Shi Di, it was actually his mother who arranged the kidnapping. Luo Qi planned this, thinking that her son would leave Shi Xiaonian if he thought the woman was ruined. However, Gong Ou refuses to leave her even if she is dirty, and chases his mother away from his castle. Shi Xiaonian talks to Luo Qi before she leaves to Britain, and learns that she really was not raped after all, for no matter how cruel Luo Qi was she couldn't bear to ruin a woman. If it was Shi Di who arranged the men, she definitely wouldn’t have mercy no matter what, but Luo Qi couldn't be so merciless. She simply designed the scene to make them think so. After Luo Qi leaves, Gong Ou takes revenge on Shi Xiaonian's adopted family. He sends them away to a faraway country to live the rest of their lives in poverty. A few weeks later Shi Xiaonian finds out that she is pregnant and is extremely happy at the news. She thinks Gong Ou would also be very happy, since that was what he wanted for so long. But when she tells him the news, he is very angry and upset. While she is surprised at his unexpected reaction, she finds out that Gong Ou still doesn't believe that she wasn't raped, and because the timing matches perfectly with the day of her kidnapping he thinks the child is not his but the rapists’. He tries to give her medicine to make her have abortion but Shi Xiaonian refuses to kill the child in her womb. She tries to persuade him once again that the child is his but Gong Ou still refuses to believe her. After a long period of fighting, she finds out that the reason Gong Ou tries to make her have abortion is because he believes that Shi Xiaonian will leave him when she gives to birth to another man's child. He doesn't want her to leave him no matter what so he insists on killing the child. Shi Xiaonian refuses and she eventually convinces Gong Ou to keep the child, though he still doesn't believe the child is his, but Shi Xiaonian doesn't mind since the truth would prevail once the child was born. Shi Xiaonian is very happy to finally have a family with the man she loves but she is worried about the future, she doesn't want her child to have a paranoid father. She wants them all to be happy. So she proposes Gong Ou to seek for treatment for his illness. She convinces him with sweet words and Gong Ou agrees to give it a try. They seek for a renowned psychiatrist to treat him, and the psychiatrist they find turns out to be none other than the intended fiancée of Gong Ou, Mona, who goes by another name in medical world. She acts so sweet and friendly and promises to help Gong Ou heal, convincing them of her earnestness. Thus, they begin the treatment with Mona. After a while, Shi Xiaonian finds out that Mona has been in love with Gong Ou for a long time so she feels anxious to have her by his side, since they spend so much time together for the treatment. She tells Gong Ou of her worries, who also found out about the feelings of Mona, but he appeases her and tells her not to worry since he would never cheat on her. Right when Shi Xiaonian was feeling bitter about the closeness between Gong Ou and Mona, Gong Ou proposes marriage to Shi Xiaonian. She is extremely delighted and accepts with joy, very happy that she could finally have a home. After that, Gong Ou receives an intel about something he asked his men to investigate, and starts to act strangely around Shi Xiaonian. Shi Xiaonian doesn't know the reason but simply feels weird about his change of heart. Then suddenly, Gong Ou wants to break up with Shi Xiaonian, much to her disbelief. She doesn't take his demand seriously and simply refuses to leave him. He keeps insisting on breaking up with ridiculous reasons and intimidates her when she refuses. Mona tells her that she was just an emotional pet to him, and he didn't really love her, he was simply obsessed with her because of his illness. Now, since he started to heal of his illness with her treatment, his obsession for her started to fade away. After a week of intimidation, Shi Xiaonian agrees to break up when she sees Gong Ou and Mona intimately close together, thinking that he really didn't love her anymore and she was just a tool he was obsessed with because of his illness. They sign a breakup contract just as they did when they first started living together, and Shi Xiaonian tells him angrily that he was right, she had lied all along, she remembered the events of that night clearly and she really was raped, and the child was not his. Gong Ou, who didn't believe her in the first place all this time, is simply bittersweet. Gong Ou says he wants to break up with her peacefully without any hard feelings but Shi Xiaonian refuses and tells him that she wants to break off all ties with him. He agrees without any choice. They hold a press conference telling everyone that they are breaking up peacefully. Thus Shi Xiaonian leaves him and moves to a small apartment on her own, her only companion MR Gong whom Gong Ou left with her. She has a very difficult time as an abandoned pregnant woman but tries to stay strong for the sake of her baby. Meanwhile, Gong Ou keeps tailing her without her knowledge, and plants surveillance cameras in her apartment. He also has a difficult time and refuses to eat food cooked by people other than Shi Xiaonian. He sneaks in her apartment when she is out to steal some of the food she cooked from the fridge. Shi Xiaonian notices that the amount of food in her fridge decreased and contacts Gong Ou to threaten him that if he keeps sneaking in her apartment, she will call the cops to arrest him. He denies the accusement and Shi Xiaonian really calls the cops. They have an argument at the police station and Gong Ou leaves feeling depressed. He goes to the luxurious apartment at Port of Heaven where they had lived together in when they first signed the contract and he sees several comics drawn by Shi Xiaonian on the wall. The comics tell their story together and Shi Xiaonian's love for him, and eventually them breaking up, with Shi Xiaonian's heartbreak. It ends with a line of words from Shi Xiaonian: "What home were you talking about? Don't lie to me." Gong Ou is distraught at the sight and feels extremely bitter. On the other side, Shi Xiaonian goes for a checkup on her baby's condition and she learns that she has twins. She doesn't know whether to be happy or sad, as she is happy to have twins but bitter at the thought that she can't even share the joyful news with the father of her children. In a daze, she goes to the apartment in Port of Heaven to celebrate the news that she has twins by herself. Meanwhile, Gong Ou is still inside the apartment and lying on the bed, starving because he didn't eat anything for a long time. Shi Xiaonian comes to the apartment and draws another comic depicting her checkup on the hospital that day on the wall before she cooks a feast for herself to celebrate. When Gong Ou wakes up, he sees Shi Xiaonian and hides away to prevent her from discovering his presence. He watches her celebrating the joyful news by herself, though he doesn't know what joyous thing is there to celebrate. After eating by herself, having cooked too much for a single person to eat, Shi Xiaonian decides to feed the rest to the stray cats. Hearing her intention to throw away the food, Gong Ou calls her phone secretly to threaten her of arresting her because she stole his stuff when she was in the castle. Panicking at the thought that the police wouldn’t find her when they arrive at her house, she leaves the apartment in a haste leaving the dishes she cooked laying on the kitchen. Gong Ou stores the food in the fridge, planning to eat them bit by bit to prolong the time. After Shi Xiaonian leaves, she sees that there are no cops coming after her after all. The next day, she finds out that Gong Ou is secretly helping her by investing a huge amount of money for the drama adaptation of her comics. Suspicious, she returns to Port of Heaven only to find the food she left the previous day stored properly in the fridge and Gong Ou sleeping in the bedroom. She talks to Gong Ou after he wakes up and he is shocked to see her, immediately reprimanding her. She questions him for her suspicions but gives up when Gong Ou says he stored the food just to feed the stray cats. She tells him to feed the cats together much to his displeasure. They go out together to feed the cats as it rains outside and she asks him several questions, trying to find out if he still has feelings for her, only to hear that he doesn't love her anymore and he is developing a relationship with Mona. Mona appears in front of them and humiliates Shi Xiaonian, kissing Gong Ou in front of her. Shi Xiaonian leaves after bitterly giving them her blessings as she drenches in the rain. After returning home she gets sick with fever. With no one but MR Gong to take care of her, she is in a very pitiful state. At night, she hears sounds coming from outside her door. She feels very scared of thieves in darkness as there is also a power outage, with MR Gong also out of power. She calls for the ambulance and waits for them to arrive, she feels extremely sick as she keeps vomiting and feels her consciousness fading. Right then, Gong Ou, who learned of her situation as he was monitoring her apartment, arrives, and takes her to the hospital. He tells the hospital staff to tell Shi Xiaonian it was the ambulance that saved her. The doctors do as Gong Ou says and Shi Xiaonian believes them with no other choice. As she wonders in her mind about what happened the previous night, vaguely remembering Gong Ou coming to her rescue, she concludes that she was just having a hallucination. Meanwhile, Gong Ou regrets agitating her to the extent she would fall sick with fever like that, blaming Mona for appearing out of nowhere like that, wondering if the decision he made was the right one. He faces his contradictions, realizing that what he had done to protect Shi Xiaonian, to keep her safe was actually hurting her more, she wasn't safe when she was away from him at all with how she was currently sick. Mona talks him out of his thoughts but then Gong Ou realizes it was Mona who brainwashed him all along, making him think this decision was the right one. Agonizing over his mistake, he decides to take Shi Xiaonian back to his side to never leave her ever again, he takes his leave to the hospital. As he arrives at the hospital, mysterious men disguised as staffs come to the hospital ward of Shi Xiaonian and kidnap her. Gong Ou frantically searches for her when he finds out she is nowhere to be seen in her ward but to no avail. Shi Xiaonian is then taken to a faraway place where she learns she was kidnapped by Gong Ou's mother who learned of her pregnancy from Mona. Mona was beside them when Shi Xiaonian declared the child was not Gong Ou's in her moment of burst of emotions. Mona also thought the baby was the rapists’ but Luo Qi knew the truth better than her, as she was the who instigated the kidnapping. Shi Xiaonian wasn't really raped and she knew the child was actually her son's. Shi Xiaonian is taken to a secluded tower by seaside where she is to be confined till the babies are born, with a team of renowned gynecologists and capable servants to serve her. She is hopelessly trapped at that place, she feels despair as her only trace of hope, her children are to be taken from her when they are born to be raised in the noble Gong family as successors. Meanwhile, as Gong Ou desperately tries to find her, he suspects Mona of kidnapping Shi Xiaonian. He interrogates and tortures her endlessly but all Mona says is that she wasn’t the one who did it and she didn’t know where Shi Xiaonian was. Stubbornly believing it was Mona who kidnapped Shi Xiaonian, driven insane at the thought of her being dead, Gong Ou refuses to eat or drink till he finds Shi Xiaonian. At a moment of dreaming in a haze, he sees Shi Xiaonian reprimanding him for being so useless, telling him to quickly come to her rescue. Regaining his composure, with the help of several clues, he comes to a conclusion that she is taken by his mother as he notices that Shi Xiaonian was right, the child was his after all. He grieves over not trusting her all this time, only hurting her. He leaves for Britain and interrogates his mother for Shi Xiaonian’s whereabouts but Luo Qi refuses to admit to kidnapping Shi Xiaonian. He doesn't believe her lies and keeps on urging for her to tell, threatening her with taking his own life. Luo Qi comes to an agreement that she would tell her whereabouts only if he agreed to marrying Mona and making Shi Xiaonian his mistress. Gong Ou refuses to accept such conditions but is desperate with no other choice. He eventually agrees, planning in his mind that he would find her once they showed their weakness. So, the engagement between him and Mona is planned to take place several months later. Meanwhile, Shi Xiaonian suffers indescribably as she waits for the day her children are born in grief, with no one to trust nor love. She hears the news of Gong Ou’s upcoming engagement from the staff who accompany her in the tower. Their only purpose is to humiliate and dishearten her further by letting her hear how great Gong Ou is, and how his N.E. is prospering even more so than ever. Initially, she was hoping Gong Ou would come to her rescue one day, saving her from her endless agony, but eventually she could only lose all her faith as she heard of his news, how he never cared for her whereabouts. Her love and affection towards him turns into intense hatred, pure resentment and grief. She pours all the negative emotions she feels in her confinement to hatred for him, also experiencing severe pain from her pregnancy all along. She would double up endlessly as she cried and shout out in agony from her cramps and pain, all the more painful than normal as she was having a nervous breakdown. She would carve down with her nails on the head of her bed, on the woods, how much she hated Gong Ou for making her into this state. She also drew a picture book depicting her days of pregnancy without all the painful details, only the funny and blissful parts, for her children, and entrusted it to the butler who took care of her to give it to her children once they grew up, hoping they wouldn’t resent their pitiful mother so much for leaving them. One day, she meets a doctor on her usual checkups who tells her he will save her from that place, however she refuses to trust him. He only tells her that he is from her biological family, and he will save her. She is shocked to hear of her biological family but she still chooses to be wary. As the due date of birth comes closer, a week before, she hears the servants talking of the engagement oath ceremony of Gong Ou that will take place that day, and how joyous everyone in the Gong family was. Feeling very bitter at the news, agitated, she feels pain and gives birth a week earlier than the due date. Her birth is a very painful one, as she screams nonstop but no one cares. She could vaguely see a man helping her as she was lost in pain, and that man was none other than Mu Qianchu who was supposed to be dead on a plane crash. He tells her he will save her from that place along with her children, only if she trusts in him and promises never to be afflicted with Gong Ou ever again. Feeling that he is the only person she can trust, Shi Xiaonian agrees without hesitation. After she gives birth to her children, a girl and a boy, she falls unconscious. Then a huge clash happened at the tower as all the bodyguards, servants and doctors fall one by one. She is taken away by Mu Qianchu along with her child, as Mu Qianchu’s men infiltrate the whole place. Meanwhile, Gong Ou, who was proceeding with his plan to find Shi Xiaonian once the oath was over, finds the tower where Shi Xiaonian was confined only to see a scene of bloodbath. After being beaten, he recovers in the hospital for months. Meanwhile, when Shi Xiaonian comes to her senses after giving birth, she finds out about her biological family, the Xi family. It turns out that her biological family didn’t even know of her existence all this time. I saw spoiler on ig that mikhail has no light attributes but can control mind like he has calming effects and can change people’s opinions and make them agree on whatever they say but it doesn’t seem to work on our female lead probably because she has so much light mana she can use Neautrilize - 3rd awakening spell unconsciously and that’s why Mikhail ha s been controling her family to make sure no such power would emerge and he’d secure his high position in the church. • Winterwald was tasked to keep the royal family from accessing the cup.
• Only someone with royal blood can use the goblet, so no Winterwald would've ever been able to unleash its magic.
• So going back to Luca, the goblet can grant a person's wish — that's how Luca went back in time; however, Luca's wish was not about him going back in time to take revenge or whatever, his wish was for everyone to be happy.
• Now, why did the goblet grants Luca's wish? Well simply because Luca has the blood of royalty. His mom has the blood of royalty. And YES, Judith also has the blood of royalty. His father is also from a royal bloodline.
• The former king's sister, Greta, ran away from the palace (home) along with a handsome commoner she fell in love with. And Greta was the mother of Larisa and Judith's mother. So, in short, Larisa and Judith are the granddaughters of a princess, the sister of the former king.
• About Judith, Judith is the REAL JUDITH. There was never a novel, to begin with. She never read a novel about Luca's life; she simply remembered Luca's memories from his past life. In short, all the abuse she gave Luca was her doings. Judith died in modern time (in Korea) then she reborn as Judith (born as Judith, like from baby, u know what I mean?). Luca also said that Judith gave him the portrait of his mother after he went to the Winterwald. Also, Luca knew that in the first timeline, Franz changed his mind in killing him because Judith argued with Franz about it.
• Luca and Judith told everything to Rudy.
• The duke also knew about the goblet and the wish. He patted Luca and said about being proud or something to how Luca wished everyone's happiness.
• Back to Luca again (lol), he is not the true heir of the Winterwald household. Why? Because Jonas is not the duke's son. Venessa, one of the former king's daughters, married the duke to get away from her father. She slept around and got pregnant, she doesn't know who the father was. She died as soon as she gave birth to Jonas, Luca's father.
• About Jonas, Luca's father, the one who killed him was the duke. Because Jonas wants to be king. He was arrogant and a greedy person. Jonas planned to kill Sophie after he will become the King.
• So yeah about the thing about the Duke, Vennesa, and Sophie. I know it's weird since Venessa and Sophie are friends. But... Venessa, for me, is a good person, and Sophie sad so too. The Duke and Venessa made a deal with each other. So they had a marriage contract or something like that. Venessa knows how the Duke feels about Sophie and vice versa. As Sophie said, they knew each other's secrets and that Venessa gave her every good thing in her life.
• The reason why Sophie paid more attention to Jonas was because he's the son of Vennesa. It is said that she doesn't love Jonas, more like a substitute for Venessa. She's very loyal to Venessa hence why she wants Jonas to become the successor of the Duke. She really loves Venessa, she still smile everytime she talks and thinks about Venessa.
• In the first timeline, Sophie died because of the anxiety when she heard about the death of Rudy. The reason why the Duke took care of Jonas, more than his own son, was because he felt guilty for Venessa ( after her death) and he felt like he didn't do anything on his side of his bargain. To begin with, the Duke doesn't care who will be the next to succeed him. Jonas was just greedy and has a nasty attitude, especially to Sophie (duke's love one). Judith is feeling unsure about what the duke and Sophie felt with Rudy, and hoped that they will reveal their genuine feelings to Rudy.
• Judith and Rudy will get married and they will have a daughter.
• To begin with, the former king really dislikes Rudy for Judith. The former king loves Judith. Favoritism since Judith looks like his sister and she has the same purple eyes as his sister and his daughter, Vennesa. That's also one of the reason why Sophie like Judith. Because Venessa told her to be kind to people who have purple eyes since maybe they are having a difficult time of their life.
• The former king always separate Judith and Rudy. He doesn't let Judith get outside of the palace. That's why she went out (with permission and excuse by accompanying Luca) to talk to Rudy. But the next one will be Rudy coming to the palace in commoner's disguise and some ball in announcing the existence of Judith.
• Luca (was) also didn't approved of Rudy's marriage proposal since in the first timeline, Rudy never felt love and shows love with anyone.
