Tbh, if someone genuinely likes you and calls you babe, it’s best to shut it down. If someone who does it to get a rise out of you calls you babe, let it go. It’s not worth giving them the satisfaction of a reaction. I do the same. I can tell apart the 3 babes (flirty/friendly/antagonistic) and I treat them differently. It’s what you SHOULD do in those situations to expend the least amount of energy dealing with it in the long run.
