I've read some news about Reverend Insanity official raws being removed from Chinese website and it's probably under screening now. Even if the novel won't get banned for real, it still could be censored and I think it's a huge possibility that the author won't be able to finish the story according to his ideas. As far as I know, he stated that he's going to publish the novel by himself if it takes too long, but I guess he won't get his payment then. I just hope we will get to see a proper, true end of this story and not a version edited to fit government's requirements...

To put it simply, chinese government happened. Probably they don't want to promote this novel as a protag is too much of a nonconformist for their liking, although it's just my (and some other readers) assumption. As far as I know the novel is still on an indefinite hiatus.

This manhua is based on my favorite CN novel and I definitely wouldn't classify it as shoujo. It's actually a quite deep story with psychological and philosophical aspects involved, but first of all it's not for the faint-hearted. Fang Yuan is basically a sociopath, an extremely ruthless and cold-blooded individual with no empathy or humane feelings like love, compassion etc. I would recommend it if you have nothing against villainous MCs.
Anyway, I'm really surprised to see this chapter. I remember reading one chapter of manhua based on Reverend Insanity, but it was probably a different version. This one looks much better and I hope it's going to be continued. If you know where to find raws, please let me know.

I think you don't need to worry about harem. I'm currently at chapter 655 and MC doesn't seem to be interested in either sex or romance. Also, you should look for translation of Reverend Insanity on Qidian. Today there are 787 chapters and it's updated on a daily basis, but chapters 99+ are locked. Well, you can find these chapters on pirate sites, too. Apparently Novel Updates didn't add new links.

As far as I know he fell in love with someone in his last life, but it ended tragically as they couldn't be together. At present he's basically devoid of any affection or sexual desire and focused solely on his goal. Fang Yuan is a true villain and he wouldn't want a 'redemption' even if he could get it. He doesn't give a shit about righteousness, morals or other people's opinions. Not to mention the fact that almost all characters in the novel are evil or hypocrites hiding behind a mask of morality while scheming on the side. Moreover the author stated that he wanted to create a true villainous MC. So yeah, Fang Yuan is a villain, not an antihero and he's not going to change because of love, family etc. He's already 500 years old, so it wouldn't be realistic if he had changed because of a 'fateful encounter' with a busty beauty...

Not really, so far he had one forced ally that betrayed him later on and another one he scammed to make him join forces, as far as I know he will have some allies later, but I think they would either be evil or deceived by FY. As for friendship etc. for him people are just useful chess pieces, I doubt he could ever make friends with this kind of fixed mindset. He doesn't 'like' people in general. I would say there are two types of people for him - the ones he can use and the ones he wants to get rid of. If someone doesn't fit in these categories he's simply ignored.

I wish it was a hurt --> comfort yaoi with some dark undertones, but WITHOUT a rape... I get that seme has his own issues, but nothing can excuse his behavior towards poor, abused uke. The story had a potential, but this scene was really unnecessary, at least from my point of view. It's a cruel, but unfortunately quite realistic story... We don't get an exaggerated 'stockholm syndrome' here, just a true picture of extreme bullying. I get why some readers don't like it, but I think it's something more than a sick fantasy. Something like this could happen in a real life (and it happens). Anyway, if you're looking for boys LOVE or you easily get devastated by tragic and dark stuff, better skip this one...

Well, it was definitely an unexpected blow... I suppose I thought that this manga is going to be strictly comedic and consensual. It's not that I dislike this manga because of that - I'm still going to read it with interest, but I hope this matter will be solved properly, not with an instant forgiveness. Maybe uke was too naive, but his trust was hurt badly due to seme's behavior.
In that novel young drama actor becomes a fudanshi and a devoted shipper of himself x another actor OTP. It's cute and funny so I recommend it if you enjoy this kind of plot.
