Literally because rape is so normalised in media and that desensitizes people to it in real life especially when they play of the rape. Luckily, I think this one redeemed its self pretty fast since it was only in the first few chapters and there's been a hundred since then and their relationship with eachother is super deep. The reason I like this manga a lot is because they're so in love with each other and care so much about eachother to the point where they're both insane. Of course their relationship is not healthy but it's insanely strong. I do wish that their was more focus on the fact that amane raped rindo in the first few chapters but I think this time it was more of a reflection on the fact that amane had been sexually assaulted all his life. Which of course still doesn't excuse raping anyone else. Either way, now everything they do is consensual and I'll keep reading it for their relationship but I do agree that rape in manga is awful and it's definitely because of the fact that sa reports and rape cases are so high in Japan because there is a constant fetishization of everything, including rape. (Sorry I went off)

This story really didnt redeem itself if you ask me, it sort of just downgraded rindos character into a rapist too which made it easier to digest because well...they suit each other dont they. Fyi referring to the chapters where Rindo took advantage of amane while he was drunk Theyre love being deep and obsessive definitely is true but the story totaly glorifies the obsessive and sexually abusive aspects. To put it bluntly, i think youre wrong about the idea that this story redeemed itself. It had developement for sure but it still sexualised sexual violence, atleast between rindo and amane, multiple times. A contributor to rape culture. Interesting view though.

For sure it definitely romanticises rape. And in no world am I saying that the relationship they have is a healthy one but they are both very sick in the head. It's a deep obsessive love, in amane's case stemming from past trauma and I have no idea what caused rindo to be the way he is. It definitely is rape but I feel like whatever they do to eachother it's almost consensual (?) because they're so obsessed with eachother they just don't care. Very twisted but I think it's surpassed the point of rape because it's something they would consent to? Of course the problem with the story isn't the face that there was rape but because the romantication of rape in media is what leads modern minds into thinking rape is "kinky" especially with lots of young people growing up on screens. Over all the concept of rape will always be gross and uncomfortable but I think with these two they've gotten to a degree where I don't think it could even be classed as sexual assault because even in the scene where amane lost his head after he thought rindo cheated rindo was up for it because of how much he loves amane. At they end of it all, they're both absolutely sickos which I guess is why the story is interesting

Definetly still is sexual assault, the definition of consent doesnt change just because of their...special circumstances. I can see why you think the way you do but sexual asaault is the end line, not caring whether someone sexually assaults you doesnt equal consent, just because they WOULD consent to it doesnt change the fact they didnt. The 'ifs' and 'woulds' dont matter. There wasnt a 'is this ok' or a body language signal. And you cant consent to someone raping you anyway, when youre drunk you cant consent and the same goes for when youre alseep. It'll always be sexual violence. The scene where Amane sexually assaulted rindo thinking he cheated on him was sexual violence, the factors about Amanes reasoning to do it are unimportant. Its still sexual assault, reasons for why you sexually assault someone are unimpotant, whether you thought you were committing sexual violence is also unimportant. The deed was done and theres no reversal, or i guess in fiction there could be lol. My point is that even if they dont care its still sexual violence, they just abuse each other sexually like its nothing. Its like when couples hit and punch each other but dont care, its still violence, just because they dont care doesnt change that.

i think the reason why this story has higher stars is due to the fact that most ppl are invested in their emotional relationship more than anything, which is why the rating is staying afloat. this manhua probably, coincidently, got the right target audience who knew what they signed up for before reading this (me) or just kept reading and gave it a chance. tbh wish this story has TW’s for ppl like u who accidentally stumble upon this, cause this is definitely not ur area and i respect that

They’re two separate people, but especially after the pact they made a while ago, one cannot exist without the other. The way I see it, they’re both just so insane about each other and so toxically codependent it’s almost as if they’re one. Amane is the one always saying out of pocket shit like he wants to eat rindo and absorb him or smth, but even if rindo “ignores” it, he sure doesn’t act like he completely doesn’t understand what amane means. Their minds are so synced, melting into each other fr.
Anyway I agree w pain, in the case of this manga ppl are probably fascinated with their relationship. It’s not for everyone and should have tags. It’s very unique tho from most bl that are rapey with high ratings. It’s toxic in a different way
