One of my favorites from years ago. I believe I was 18 when I read this for the first time and now I'm 31, but I still remember this manhwa from time to time. This is not historically or culturally accurate but gosh this manhwa is so charming even with its flaws. The art is gorgeous and the storytelling is beautiful!! I can tell that the author put their heart into this because it really shows. Every single arc made me cry :')

This is one of my all time favorites. I come back to this one every few months to reread it. I love how intricate and complex the characters are, i especially enjoyed Fatima’s character. My feelings for her consist of flaming hatred, love, pity and begrudging understanding. If we read the story from her pov surely we would’ve hated shahryad for his cruelty and empathize with the poor girl who was forced to sell her body to survive as a slave. Also the stories that sehara tell to shahryar are incredible. The story of the son of the ocean king and the boy and the soldier made me actually bawl my eyes out. Its sad how none of his story end in true happiness but the truthfulness of it is very melancholic to me. I will read it again in a few months when it comes to my mind as it often does and enjoy it once again.
I found that disgusting too, especially because he met her when she was incredibly young and fell for her then! However, this storyline takes place in a time when such relationships were more common. (Even then, the ML comments on it by calling him perverted!)
