damn i always wanted to watch this anime or manga but i read the manga first. I’m scared to read this at first because i saw on tiktok that kou is redflag but i don’t think he is yeah i know he hurt futaba. I forgive him for what he did to futaba. I still love him and always defend him. He because have a trauma doesn’t know how to move on with his life still thinking about the past. i swear this is the realest manga i've ever read like the emotions it causes, tears, screaming, happiness and then you see kou's growth as a character when he finally freed himself from the guilt and the burden of his mother's death his beautiful smile wow it really portayed realistic youth so well but i guess that's why some ppl might not enjoy it
I've been reading this every few months and still don't understand how people blame Futaba/Kou when Narumi and Touma manipulated them. Touma even ADMITTED he took advantage of her vulnerability yet Futaba is in the wrong, he is called a "poor guy" and ppl villainize Kou for making mistakes, learning and growing. Sure he isn't perfect but neither the villain.
I hope people realise that Narumi manipulated Kou through his trauma, he heard she was all alone like he used to be, lost himself in her and gave up fighting due to the guilty he felt for moving on from his mother's death. She triggered his PTSD and Kou thought a relationship would hurt futaba. It's only thanks to Futaba and Kominato did he realise that time wasn't standing still and that it's okay to move forward, to be happy.
As much as I don’t like Kou cuz he was annoying asf it’s actually impressive how dedicated Futaba’s feelings were towards Kou all those years and how she put up with all his bullshit Ik I would have damn left but ig thats why she’s FML material

I don't think they are irritating, especially not Kou and Futaba both of them were taken advantage of. Kou ain't a bad guy as you made him out to be. They are young, learning and had missed their timing. Futaba especially didn't do anything wrong.

We see him trying to make up for everything and it's Narumi who triggered his trauma. Kou was afraid a relationship would hurt Futaba. It's good to understand everyone's POV and Io Sakisaka wanted to portray realistic, imperfect youth not the classic "everything goes smooth, the male is perfect" we see nowadays
