Rant +1 - Here to add my own rant to the sea of rants in the topics section.

Warning - This is going to be long.

I am very much bothered about them hiding Motoki's girlfriend's shoes, when the shoe stand is clearly inside the house. I just can't make sense of this. Why? I mean, why would the ex-husband know Hayato's house. Ok, even if he stalked and got to know the location, why would they allow him into the house so that he can see the shoes? Even if he somehow forced his way in, why would he stop there and not look inside the rooms? He is clearly obsessive if he did all that.

Having got that out of my system.

I understand Hayato helping his friend. Even though it's his ex, they are childhood friends. I even understand him saying that helping Motoki is the most important thing now. Because a single person (even if it's your lover or spouse) cannot be the focal point of your life all the time. And seeing how dangerous the situation was, I quite admire him for helping out his friend.

What I do not understand is him asking Jun to not contact him and not explaining anything (even vaguely) to him. Asking Jun to not come to his house might make sense, since he might not want Jun to get mixed up in dangerous situation. But why ask him not to contact him? Phones exist in the manga, why not make use of it and have a conversation. Something like "Hey, sorry for leaving like that yesterday, but my friend is in deep trouble and really needs my help right now. It would be better if you don't come by my place for a few days since I do not want to involve you in this mess.".

I understand why Jun was not very assertive. In the first place, he had an unrequited love, then he had a one night stand with Hayato after Hayato cried for Motoki not to leave him. The morning after, Hayato asked him to go out but he is clearly not over Motoki. At this point Jun is clearly a substitute. Even after that Hayato never took the initiative to know more about Jun. He does not know where he works or where he lives. Still looks like a substitute or a bed partner at best. After the first call for help, Hayato left without explanation (understandable since the situation is urgent), but he did not explain even after he met him the next day, that too when he missed Jun's birthday.

Yes, he gave a ring, but does that really signify anything? No, Emotionless giving is a thing. Jun for some reason felt that as a declaration of love. Wow. I guess when you want to hang on, anything can be a reason. Then the day after Hayato again asked him not to contact and come to his house. Even after that, he goes to Hayato's house to talk, but comes across an intimate scene between ex-lovers. I don't see how he is supposed to be secure in this type of relationship. Him leaving and changing his number makes sense with his status in the relationship. Even after finding out Jun's address he allowed Motoki to meet him before himself. Like, do you have a brain? Making him meet Motoki after or at least meeting Jun together would have made sense, but making Motoki talk to him first. I still don't see his love here. I feel he just does not want to let go of the convenient toy since his ex already has someone else.

Yes, the issue here is lack of communication but mostly from Hayato's end. Yet, all of them unanimously put the whole blame on Jun. His only fault is staying in that relationship and even returning to that stupidity again after leaving, without Hayato not seriously repenting.

And Motoki... I don't see how testing Jun in this situation is helping out. He even goes so far as to tell Jun that he is getting back together with Hayato. What a way of making someone feel secure in their relationship.

Also, Jun's boss giving out his address to his lover's ex or any random person for that matter. Totally unprofessional.

I really don’t like it. Everybody in this story is manipulative except for the MC. And why would we feel sorry for Hayato? For the MC to realize that he will always be a placeholder and second best to his lover’s ex? Hayato giving him a ring doesn’t matter at all. What matters are his actions and what else is the conclusion to him telling his lover to not come over whenever his ex calls and wants to hang out?
Honestly I think the most honest moment from Hayato is when he tells his ex to nevermind his lover and that his ex is the most important person in this moment. We even find out that Hayato was the one offering his ex to stay with him. It wasn’t the ex who begged for shelter. Hayato went out of his way for his ex. He shows a lot of care for his ex, but not any for his supposed boyfriend. That says a lot.
I also don’t get why the boss feels sorry for Hayato. Seems like he’s only a mouthpiece of the author to let us know that the MC was wrong for leaving that douchebag.
It’s hilarious to me that Hayato’s ex has the balls to try and make MC feel bad about leaving Hayato. Or how he doesn’t deserve him because he left after it was made so obvious he will always be second best. Did the ex forget what Hayato told him about how much he means to him? So why does he say there is nothing to worry about? Maybe the ex has nothing to worry about, but the MC certainly does. It’s obvious Hayato is still sweet on his ex. The only reason they are not together is because the ex is not in love with Hayato anymore. Otherwise Hayato would have jumped ship already. And the story about some girlfriend being there just sounds like a tagged on lie. There was no trace of her anywhere. The excuse that he hid her shoes because of her ex husband is idiotic. How would this guy just get into that apartment? Why would the ex stay there in the first place if his location was known to ex husband? Why would the ex husband know his ex wife’s new lover’s best friend/former lover’s home address? It just doesn’t add up at all.
The MC didn’t misunderstand anything at all, he got the drift and cut that dude off without fuss. That was rather mature. Why cry and complain if your SO could give less of a fuck and puts some “friend” above you?
I don’t see this as a communication problem at all. Hayato doesn’t want his lover and former lover to meet. Why? Giving MC a Ring should be a sign that Hayato is committed to the relationship. But as soon as his ex calls, he sends his lover away and tells him not to come around for a while. No explanation whatsoever. He just wants to be alone with his ex. You only do that if you want to keep a certain romantic door open, just in case. And a lover would be in the way and send the wrong message to the ex, in case your ex decides to jump on your dick.
I wonder what would happen if the ex decided he wants a rebound? What if the ex gets into more trouble? Will Hayato ask him to stay over again and send the MC packing again?
Lol. This manga reminds me of “bros before hoes”. Of course the ex, who doesn’t want Hayato, would try to keep them together. It’s the least he can do as a friend. But the MC is alone, he has no one advocating for him. So I’m not surprised he fell right back into it.

I'm not gonna put the all blame on the seme...but seme's friend...he knew that his friend have a lover...but still get in their way...just too often!! He knew how the uke's gonna feel if he know that they two alone in that house...but still come!! Aigooo

YaoiBangPD August 6, 2023 4:59 pm

Well, I do think it’s seme’s fault because he is the one in the relationship and he is the one who offer his ex staying and he is the one who said “Don’t mind my partner, you are the most important person right now”, I would have get it if they were just friends but THEY WERE EX’s, even at the end of the story it doesn’t seems like the seme really loves the uke, so the yeah, the seme is really at fault here (▰˘◡˘▰)

Somecrazyhuman February 19, 2021 7:28 pm

I'm just saying that I don't really like that Senpai...it's just...if the uke didn't know that Senpai paid someone to make them broke up...the uke's might blame himself for cheating

It's just make me think that Senpai trying to put the blames on the uke for their break up...nah I just don't like him...

Somecrazyhuman February 19, 2021 7:33 pm

And for the first couple

To me it's just still the seme's jerk!!
It's still not explain to me why he said "being beside you is more important"
Like what!? More important? I can really feel how he uke's feeling right there...it's hurt when your lover choose someone else other than you and said they're more important than you...

I'm not gonna say anything about where I hated it or not because both stories were written for fun, but I will add some input. All I'm gonna say is that the first story was so sad for me, because I understand how the uke felt about being insecure of one's ex especially if they think they are better then them. Also liked how the author pointed that out of ones insecurities can lead to a lot of stuff like trust issues, anxiety, and even depression. As well as how they put a lack of communication can lead up to misunderstandings and the characters are human meaning they have human traits everyone has flaws and so did these characters and relationships are bumpy but are full of fun and meaningful lessons. The first stories characters just had a bumpy obstacle but they did love each other and they ended up happy, even though it could have been frustrating for some readers there are couples who go through that stuff some come out stronger and some end up breaking up. It's the effort put in the relationship. Just cause it's a fiction story doesn't mean the lessons and meaning the author inputs isn't real, all that shit is real. The second story was just for fun ig since I found it funny sorry haha.

these two stories pissed me off

the first story : the seme is a literal piece of shit, he blamed the uke for misunderstanding when uke or anyone in his spot would've thought the same. like who tf just hangs out like that with their ex without telling their current partner, he also neglected the uke and prioritized his ex/best friend. the uke is too forgiving and submissive towards the seme.

second story : this one was frustrating to read. the uke's bad luck with men left him with trauma and the one he was dating hired a guy from a break up company instead of being honest to the uke about the arranged meeting and all. the bestfriend said some discouraging shit to the uke. the seme on lord i hate him, he didn't even try to understand the uke??? everything happened so quick and the uke imp settles for ppl too suddenly

NoDiccuFujoshi May 26, 2021 6:53 pm

Well said. The first story just makes you wanna go in that story and slap all of them like bro if your BF be acting like that I dont think it's a healthy relationship and anyone in their right mind would literally think so too

Still26 January 3, 2021 12:29 pm

The first story is the definition of "lack of communication".

akera November 6, 2020 3:23 am

The only work of Minase Masara sensei that made me give it the worst rating possible. Both stories are bad but I especially hate the first one. The seme is a little piece of shit and the uke is too submissive and has 0 self-respect.
Also, people saying "oh he didn't cheat"...fuck that! Just because someone doesn't cheat , it doesn't mean they aren't worthless garbage. He threw his lover away and when he first asked why, he was told it was none of his business then he kept telling his "lover" not to come back home while he is cozying with his ex. Literal garbage
