So what are shoujo, shounen, ecchi, harem or hentai? If not a representation of the patriarcal society...They didn't need yaoi to reach that goal, it makes no sense to portray its own gender in a derogative way to just make it work when it has been working all along.
Forced kisses, harassement & rapes were already in manga way before yaoi and gues...... 1 reply
I don't think it worked as much even if was there actual objective because I am a feminist and a yaoi addict at the same time. LoL
And I mostly find fellow fujoshis gushing over cute uke and cussing trash semes. Yaoi instead of being something against the feminist movement has actually contributed in it allowing feminity not just something women ...... 1 reply
wow thank you that explains a lot! i'm a feminist so i really dunno why they often portray a 'feminine' guy and a 'manly' guy nowadays, but i just read them anyway.
