I think that I was only 10 and it was the anime adaptation of Sekaiichi Hatsukoi. My first thought was "This is so cute I need more." For me the type of yaoi I can't stand are shotacon and yaoi with too much rape/ incest/ messed up situations. They are usually combined with a psychological tag, so by default I tend to dislike pschological mangas too. reply
My first manga would be Guru Guru Pon-chan by Ikezawa Satomi. The first book was in my middle school library, so i read it. I couldn't find the rest as a hard copy anywhere, so I searched it on the internet. That is how I discovered mangareader, mangafox, etc.
